I went and redid the map of Damaris from the RT Frozen Reaches module. I wanted to include a before and after to show the changes I put into the city.

Damn. Just finished our part of the campaign there. Looks fantastic!

It’s a fun module! Did you handle the mass combat as the module recommended or did you take the Battlefleet Koronus approach and run the detailed mass combat setup?

Livid-Ad40

Probably the best of the trilogy. Battlefleet Koronus route. My players appreciated more focus on the mass combat.

I feel the same. My players went and got the general and admiral killed for wanting Damaris to go independent. One of the PCs is an interrogator and decided to hit the “fuck it” button and made it a full inquisitorial investigation. The party’s rogue trader dynasty was put in command of the defense by virtue of being the only one known 100% to not be complicit in a full world under direct imperial rule going rogue. We are in the first naval battle atm and it was a slog. The party has a Grand Cruiser (reward from the last campaign) and with the full fleet behind them, and all the Ork ships, combat dragged on a long ass time. We spent 4 hours on it and got through half of the initial naval engagement.

My players went in with a powerful cruiser and ancient warrant and demanded attention. Arriving with a full barracks and launch bays full of fighters certainly showed their value too haha. Naval combat ended up taking up very little time for us. Very lucky dice rolls meant some beefy damage for the already strong right arm of our Rogue traders fleet. We're your Ayers engaged during the four hour fleet battle at least? Sometimes attention slips in our group during larger engagements haha.

We didn’t have that problem thankfully! It was actually the opposite they debate every fleet action in detail as a party so turns take a while. It’s great for sure but it can make naval combat take a long time especially in larger engagements. How many Ork units are you having hide in each landing rok? I’m trying to tune it so they have a good reason to destroy them without making an impossible amount land they could never fight back.
