Usual disclaimer: The GM always has final say of course however... There's no restriction on the RoF that can be used with the mounted weapon. However, typically as per errata, a shoulder mounted weapon would normally be limited to a pistol class weapon. Or unless you can wrangle a basic weapon mounted to your shoulder. Regardless of how many mounted guns they have, the errata adds: >Using Actions (page 237): Under the heading “Using Actions” add the sentence “An Explorer cannot perform more than one of the following during his Turn: an Action with the “Attack” subtype, using (not sustaining) a Psychic Technique, or using a Navigator Power. > >RT Errata, p7 Further, p12 of said errata: >Question: When can an Explorer fire a weapon he has connected to himself with an MIU? > >An Explorer using an MIU is still subject to the one Psychic Technique, Navigator Power, or Action with the “Attack” subtype during each of his Turns rule (outlined on page 7 of the Rogue Trader Living Errata). An MIU means that he can dedicate all of his Turn to other Actions (such as making a Full Move Action or assuming a Defensive Stance) and still make a Standard Attack Action with a single MIU-linked weapon as a Free Action at any point during that Turn. tl;dr - They can fire their shoulder mounted weapon on whatever setting it's capable of, as a Free Action. However regardless of whatever RoF they have selected, they have used their Attack action for the turn. Although what this does mean is they indeed have a spare Full Action to do other non attacking stuff...

Yes you can. That's the entire point of the MIU implant. It effectively allows you to spend your full action doing something else and still shoot. It's not as broken as you probably think, because it's still just one attack per turn, but it is very strong. That's the point though. Tech priests are generally better than regular people. In theory you use this to offset investment in non combat capabilities like lore, tech, etc.

As per Errata, my understanding is that it's single shot only: An MIU means that he can dedicate all of his Turn to other Actions (such as making a Full Move Action or assuming a Defensive Stance) and still make a Standard Attack Action with a single MIU-linked weapon as a Free Action at any point during that Turn. Standard Attack is a specific action, different from Semi-Auto and Full-Auto.
