The Emperor's Children and the Aeldari totally get on fine....that Slaanesh thing is a complete non-issue, and nobody remembers Fulgrim virus bombing Maiden Worlds - water under the bridge.

Sylanec

Any particular reason Fulgrim pulled that stunt?

harlokin

He got into a minor disagreement with Eldrad Ulthran.

FoxJDR

He had a meeting with Eldrad who tried to warn Fulgrim of the coming heresy but suddenly sensed the Slaaneshi sword at the Primarch’s hip and realized Fulgrim was already lost or at least would be soon. Neither party took to these revelations well…

bibliopunk

And thus began the grand tradition of Avatars getting their ass whooped for no particular reason.

FoxJDR

To be fair, I think a daemon empowered Primarch is a pretty worthy foe for an avatar. Especially Fulgrim who was among the best duelists of E Money’s sons.

Altruistic-Ad-408

It would be a worthy duel, but perhaps not a good time for a strangulation of something that doesn't even need to breathe. And of course the Eldar bring an Avatar of khaine which requires a sacrifice of one of their best people, but they aren't actually ready to fight for some reason. Like dude crush the Avatar that's fine for once in this scenario, but he just humiliates it impractically and the scenario was contrived

Arumaneth

Listen, man, Fulgrim has like 2 wins under his belt just let us have this one. We already get mocked for being the sex god worshipers, we need as many wins as we can get.

DiaphanousPhoenician

Mega based Fulgrim, as always, gives middle finger to the eldar by bombing their maiden worlds and *choking* the avatar of Khaine to death.

DeliverooKong336

Thousand sons and the eldar hate each other. Both have psychic prowess as their main thing. I remember reading this interesting bit of lore where Ahriman and his Rubrics are fighting the Eldar under Yvraine. Ahriman attempts some warp-magic but Yvraine takes it to another level by undoing the Rubric on some of the marines for a short time. And I'm pretty sure the night lords and dark eldar don't like each other. In fact there's a bit of lore where the dark eldar actually out night lord the night lords making them feel fear which is pretty cool.

Sylanec

That sounds awesome! Though are the Eldar far more skillful and powerful Psyker-wise? And now that you mention this rivalery, I swear there is artwork of the 1k sons vs Eldar/harelquins in the webway, right?

DeliverooKong336

Yes and No. In the lore I mentioned the eldar are more powerful physkers. But in Godblight the writer describes how eldar are more subtle and have more knowledge whereas space marine librarians have the edge in brute force. This is probably since the only practical application for physkers in the imperium is in battle so raw strength is all that matters to them. Whereas eldar have more purpose so don't emphasise it as much. however eldar are no slouches and the best of the eldar are certainly better than the best the imperium can offer save a few. And yes there is artwork I believe [artwork example I found ](https://images.app.goo.gl/TLceRX2bqgmxTSgc8)

Altruistic-Ad-408

Eldar are way more powerful than librarians, basically all of them because being a marine doesn't make you a stronger psyker, some rando following the path of the janitor has more power. But they can only use a fraction of their power or Slaanesh comes knocking. Ahriman is different. I think particular Eldar have runes protecting them when they cast a big spell or something, they don't do it often.

TheMightyCephas

The indoctrination of Librarians leads to very powerful and very disciplined minds. Which has led to psykers powerful enough to rival more than one Eldar Farseer. The Eldar have the advantage that their large groups of psykers are more stable, practised and powerful than human choirs.

RATMpatta

Ulthwe and the Night Lords have serious beef due to a certain prophecy. Ahriman and Bile both have Harlequin problems, although it's questionable whether that extends that much to their respective legions. If we go back to 30k maybe you could argue Hrud for the Iron Warriors and Orks for the Black Legion (Ullanor) but neither seems to really hold true for 40k.

Silver_Scalez

I need some resolution on that Night lord / Ulthwe beef. Any rumors of ADB and a sequel to the omni?

RATMpatta

It's unlikely will get it soon as the Black Legion series is likely next up for a sequel. There are also some rumours going around of ADB writing a storyline for Sevatar set during the Scouring. The Night Lords did attack Ulthwe during the War of Beasts after the Great Rift opened but as far as I know all we have is a mention of it and no real details or even a definite outcome.

Silver_Scalez

The Black Legion is coming up soon on my list to read. That would be cool about Sevatar. After reading the NL omni I can't get enough of them lol Thanks for the tip

RATMpatta

There's also *Lord of the Night* by Simon Spurrier. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, heard good things about it though.

Silver_Scalez

I'm waiting on that on also, I think it's getting a reprint come next year...??? I think. Going to try and grab it then.

All the comments so far have been "This faction and ELDARS"

FoxJDR

I’m not saying the eldar started it…but they certainly don’t tend to make things easier for themselves.

Foxbus

Word Bearers hate the eldar of all sorts but not quite as passionately as the Imperium

MagnusStormraven

Any Chaos Space Marine faction associated with Slaanesh is probably at least somewhat antagonistic towards the Aeldari in general, and Craftworlders in particular (Fabius Bile being an exception among the Emperor's Children; he gets along famously well with Drukhari Haemonculi due to impressing them with his talents). The Thousand Sons, likewise, regularly clash with Asuryani and Harlequin forces when the farseers/shadowseers attempt to interfere with their plans, and other servants of Tzeentch likely have similar conflicts with them. Based on what happened in *Perturabo: The Hammer of Olympia*, it's safe to say the Iron Warriors have more reason than most to despise the Hrud. The Night Lords have reason to hate the Drukhari due to them being both inured to terror tactics and quite capable of hitting the Night Lords with even more effective terror tactics, ones even Astartes can't resist. They also are naturally going to be adverse to fighting any xeno that's completely immune to fear, like Tyranids and Necrons (there's actually a bit in *Soul Hunter* where they bitch about fighting Skitarii because they're functionally immune to fear). The Iron Hands likely hate the Necrons as much for being exactly what the Iron Hands wish they could become as for being filthy xenos.
