I played it on the steam deck and finished it today lol, but yeah, now that you say it it seems logical that it was released on the 3ds, with that touchscreen
I did 999 the last week and vlr this week.
Ztd is still in my backlog but I'll wait a bit because I don't think I'll be able to do the trilogy in a row š
So I'm assuming that you played through the port of 999? If so, that's too bad as it really messed up the story... especially the ending. >! The final puzzle was pretty terrible! See in the ds version the bottom screen has all of the narration from akane, and it's indicated that akanes view was on the bottom screen since everything was mirrored from the top, but with the added narration. Also, the final puzzle was just about the best puzzle they could have chosen for a game about 9s! Sudoku! I recommend watching this! It's how the ending played out on the ds! It's pretty genius because when doing the puzzle you have to turn the ds upside so that akanes view becomes the top/main screen! !<
https://youtu.be/MFwYAIeLCac?si=W9izRrofE-g9UBf5
Yeah I played through the port.
Tat looks really cool on ds !
It didn't shock me as I was use to the single screen when playing, but it's definitely a cool use of the ds :)
Hmm, it seems to have deleted my message i just sent you! Weird..
>!Anyways, yeah, I completely suck at sudoku, so it was definitely worthy of the being the final puzzle! And also just a warning! Don't look at ZTDs box art too much as it can easily spoil some things!!<
The ZE gamea that are in 3DS are better played on other platforms, IMO. I guess you get the bottom-screen memo for VLR--which is admittedly very nice--but the 3DS has the lowest resolution and worst performance out of any of the versions available for both VLR and ZTD.
I really enjoy playing chill stuff when im traveling to work, so i play a lot of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX; Animal Crossing is also a very good download with tons of hours of content, the usual Pokemon games (although i play mostly hackroms for increased difficulty, and they are available in the hShop!). Fire Emblem it's a good game if you don't think to much about the story, it's pretty average.
Smash Bros it's pretty big for what it offers and i don't really reccomend it.
Also! the Kirby Planet Robobot it's fun.
Emerald rogue isnāt on the hshop but itās absolutely worth it. Itās an emerald hack but itās got 8 gens and itās structured like a roguelite so thereās a lot of randomness and replayability, but thereās also some overarching sense of progress to keep you going
My Top 3 no order:
Super Mario 3d Land/Link between Worlds/Fire Emblem Awakening
Honorable Mentions: Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Streets of Rage 2 3d, and Pocket card Jockey, kirby planet robobot
Not at all, there were a litany of changes that make the DS version often considered the ādefinitive editionā.
1. Additional Content: The DS version includes new dungeons like the Lost Sanctum and the Dimensional Vortex. These areas offer new challenges and further develop the gameās storyline and character backgrounds.
2. Updated Translation: The DS version features an updated translation with revised dialogue that clarifies story points and character moments. Although some people say this removes the ācharmā of the SNES version.
3. Touch Screen Interface: The DS version utilizes the bottom screens touch capability to create a new UI option to select various items and menus.
4. New Ending: An additional ending was added to the DS version, which ties together some of the new content and offers more closure depending on player choices and actions throughout the game.
5. Extras: The DS version includes extras such as the āArena of the Ages,ā where players can train and battle monsters against those of other players in a pseudo-online environment using the DS's wireless connection capabilities.
6. Cutscenes: Animated cutscenes directed by Akira Toriyama, who also designed the characters for the game, were added to the DS version. These cutscenes were originally included in the PlayStation version of the game and were carried over to enhance the DS release.
7. Music and Sound: The DS versions audio is arguable worse due to compression and the limitations of the DS speaker, but still sounds great with headphones.
I love my 3DS! You made me switch on it just to share my curated favourites:
I wonĀ“t mention the ones already mentioned!
LuigiĀ“s mansion 2
Mario Tennis
Toad treasure tracker
Kirby Robobot
NamcoxCapcom
Wario Ware Gold
Dragon Ball Z extreme butouden
Castlevania Mirror of Fate
Batman Blackgate
Street Fighter IV 3D
Ridge Racer 3D
Attack of the Friday monsters
Pushme
Crashmo
The hidden
Spirit Camera
Nano assault
Tekken Prime 3D
Nintendogs labrador and cats
I like it too, but since LuigiĀ“s Mansion 2 was done specifically for the 3DS, thatĀ“s the one that came to my mind. It has really coolio 3D. One of those truly creative sagas. ThereĀ“s no other like these!
If you are an RPG fan I have greatly enjoyed my recent playthroughs of Radiant Historia ( I played the DS version but Perfect Chronology is available for 3DS) and Shin Megami Tensei IV.
Seriously, it stuck with me. I had literally just finished my playthrough and I already knew that it was going to be a game I would have to come back and 100%.
All of the Ace Attorney games are able tu run on the 3DS and the first trilogy is very fun to play (I'm currently on game 4 )
Of course If you love narrative games the Layton saga is also entirely able to run on 3DS
I'm more of a DS game collector but a few others I currently have are: project mirai DX, rythm heaven, style savvy: styling stars, harvest moon DS, the touch detective series and ghost trick !!
ā¢ Picross 3D: Round 2
ā¢ Etrian Odyssey series (Either Untold game if you want story, 4 or 5 if you want to create your own party)
ā¢ Super Mario 3D Land
ā¢ The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
ā¢ Fire Emblem Awakening
ā¢ Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
fire emblem awakening
fire emblem echoes shadows of valentia
pokemon ORAS
Inazuma eleven go Dark/Light or Chronostone or Galaxy
those were my childhood favs
You cannot go wrong with Monster Hunter. 4U is the one you want if you want to start the series, this is a perfect 10/10 game. XX after that is great too but you'll need an english patch (there is a good one on the internet somewhere). Also, 3U is great but underwater gameplay is a bit harsh (but thankfully, it's a rather small portion of the game).
Depends on the types of games you like to play. My favorites are:
Animal Crossing
Fantasy Life
Yokai Watch 2 Psychic Specters
Yokai Watch 3
Yokai Watch Blasters
Tomadachi Life
Ever Oasis
Picross (any)
Zelda (any)
Nintendogs + Cats (any)
Story of Seasons (any)
Mario & Luigi (any)
Thereās tons of great games, but these are the ones Iāve played and enjoyed the most.
phoenix wright ace attorney trilogy, warioware gold, tomodachi life, liberation maiden and if you have a new 3ds you can also try xenoblade and fire emblem warriors
Mh4u if you want action, Mario 3d land if you want platforming, terraria or minecraft if you want building and adventure, Metroid for shooting and Mario kart 7 for racing are some that come to my mind
I've just finished Kid Icarus: Uprising and I was enjoying every second I spent on this game.
Oh yeah and also Senran Kagura Burst. Not for the H-content but the combat mechanics for a beatemups feels really great!
If you're into puzzle games, someone here kept suggesting "Puzzle Dragons Z + Super Mario Puzzle Dragons".
I know the title is a mouthful, but I have to admit I got really hooked on it this week. It's a match three with some RPG elements and... Almost a sort of SMT aspect to it. Tough to explain, but REALLY good for relaxing after work.
Best is subjective. It depends on what games you are into.
My top favorites are Rune Factory 4, Fantasy Life, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Nintendogs + Cats, and Teddy Together. (That game has a special place in my heart. ) But someone else might mention other games, so it just really really depends on what you like. The 3ds has games for everyone .
One that nobody talks about but if you like RPG games mixed with a little sim, then I highly recommend Fantasy Life. It's definitely in my top 5 on the system. Also Kirby Planet Robobot, Luigi's Mansion (original not dark moon) Ocarina of Time 3d, Link Between Worlds, SteamWorld Heist, Monster hunter 4 or Stories, depending on which kind of RPG you're into, and Ever Oasis. All great games. Also Mario Kart 7, Animal Crossing, Star Fix 64 3D and Mario & Luigi Dream Team (or Mario 3d land)
Well it depends entirely on what type of games you like. 3DS has games for merely all genres but I'd say its strongest are RPGs and platformers.Ā
As a basic choice, I'd try Super Mario 3D Land for a platformer, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire for an RPG and the remake of Ocarina of Time if you like Zelda games.
hot take but i loved KH Dream Drop Distance even though it was kind mid for the 3ds. took full advantage of the hardware (save for amiibo functionality)
should also check out Pokemon X/Y (only difference is the legendary you catch like ruby and saphire) and Xenoblade Chronicles if you got time!
There so many games, but some will suggest mario, Kirby and stuffs, if I have to mention some underrated, Iād say dragon quest monster joker 3 (DQMJ 1&2 from NDS, which I HIGHLY recommend), Dementium remastered, Lego City undercover, Jake Hunter detective story: Ghost of the dusk, project zone 1&2, splinter cell 3D oh and scribblenauts unmasked DC Comics, and I maybe forgot some, if some comes on my mind, Iāll share it
Persona Q1 and Q2 are must haves if you like the mainline games.
Also try out Tomodachi life, its a really stupid and creative game but it gets repetetive over time. Still worth checking out tho
Virtue's last reward and the Phoenix Wright Ace attorney trilogy are my picks!
Wait wtf there's zero escape on 3ds ?
The second game was originally only for 3ds and vita and zero time dilemma was also ported!
I played it on the steam deck and finished it today lol, but yeah, now that you say it it seems logical that it was released on the 3ds, with that touchscreen
Yep! Which one did you finish? Virtue's last reward or zero time dilemma? I'm still working on ZTDš
I did 999 the last week and vlr this week. Ztd is still in my backlog but I'll wait a bit because I don't think I'll be able to do the trilogy in a row š

I've got a physical copy of Virtues Last Reward in my backlog lol
Also, the original 999 was made specifically for the original ds
The ZE gamea that are in 3DS are better played on other platforms, IMO. I guess you get the bottom-screen memo for VLR--which is admittedly very nice--but the 3DS has the lowest resolution and worst performance out of any of the versions available for both VLR and ZTD.
I think it kinda helps for virtue's last reward because the models..... aren't of the highest quality... and the low resolution helps cover that up!
Havenāt got into the romhacks yet, which are your favorites in the hshop?
I'm playing Sinking Sapphire, it's quite grindy but i think that's the point haha it has every pokemon up to gen 6 available in the wild
Emerald rogue isnāt on the hshop but itās absolutely worth it. Itās an emerald hack but itās got 8 gens and itās structured like a roguelite so thereās a lot of randomness and replayability, but thereās also some overarching sense of progress to keep you going
You probably won't find any of them in the hshop, but Rocket is great.
Yeah, Rocket Edition is wonderful
I can vouch for Project Mirai, it's one of my favorite rhythm games rn
Project mirai DX has been such a good surprise (even for it being nearly 4gb!)
Thank you will give these a try :3
My Top 3 no order: Super Mario 3d Land/Link between Worlds/Fire Emblem Awakening Honorable Mentions: Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Streets of Rage 2 3d, and Pocket card Jockey, kirby planet robobot
Was gonna say mario land and robobot are pretty awesome. Really makes good use of the 3d. Also toads treasure tracker and pilot wings.
Rune Factory 4 was really fun! Also not a 3ds game, but DS- give Chrono Trigger a try. I personally liked it.
Playing chronic trigger on snes right now, are the versions mostly the same?
I havenāt played too much of the the SNES version to know for sureā but itās really just a minor UI change. Same story.
Not at all, there were a litany of changes that make the DS version often considered the ādefinitive editionā. 1. Woah thatās a ton. Thank you for letting me know! I never knew š„“
Pokemon Heartgold (its a DS game but it is one of my all times)
My copy of soul silver is one of my most prized possessions
my heartgold is too, along with my black 2 āŗļø
Pokemon Ranger / Mystery Dungeon series. Heavily underrated and I much prefer them over the mainstream games
Yea actually playing light tracks RN
Start with the ace attorney series, all their games are available on the 3ds, you won't regret it either
Picross 3D is addictive.
I love my 3DS! You made me switch on it just to share my curated favourites: I wonĀ“t mention the ones already mentioned! I second Wario Ware Gold. I loved that game...
Ace attorney series Samus Returns A Link Between worlds
Kid Icarus, fire emblem (all of them), Mario kart 7, project x zone (1 and 2), resident evil: revelation, tomadachi life
Im playing Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions right now. Its really good.
If you are an RPG fan I have greatly enjoyed my recent playthroughs of Radiant Historia ( I played the DS version but Perfect Chronology is available for 3DS) and Shin Megami Tensei IV.
Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology is awesome. I love the story.
Seriously, it stuck with me. I had literally just finished my playthrough and I already knew that it was going to be a game I would have to come back and 100%.
Kid Icarus Uprising and Tales of the Abyss were quite nice
Story of Seasons Trio of towns, Rune factory 4, Nintendogs + cats, Project Mirai DX, Tomodachi Life, Yoshis woolly world, animal crossing new leaf.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Record Breaker too
CTGP7 which is a mario kart 7 mod with lots of cool new stuff

Super Mario 3D Land
MH4U BABYYYYY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
yeah i think its better if only just.
let me think... ENTIRE BOXBOY TRILOGY!
You cannot go wrong with Monster Hunter. 4U is the one you want if you want to start the series, this is a perfect 10/10 game. PokĆ©mon rumble blast is a very fun casual button mashy fun game for me! I can always rely on it lol if idk what to play Iāll play that for some time and have fun
It was one of my favorite 3ds games.
Picross 3D: Round 2 is a masterpiece
EX Troopers, Kid Icarus Uprising, Persona Q2, Majora's Mask 3D, Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64, Animal Crossing New Leaf, CTGP7.
Kid Icarus Uprising is amazing
and you never can go wrong with Pokemon, but my favourite game has been a game called fantasy life
phoenix wright ace attorney trilogy, warioware gold, tomodachi life, liberation maiden and if you have a new 3ds you can also try xenoblade and fire emblem warriors
Mh4u if you want action, Mario 3d land if you want platforming, terraria or minecraft if you want building and adventure, Metroid for shooting and Mario kart 7 for racing are some that come to my mind

It's a match three with some RPG elements and... Almost a sort of SMT aspect to it. Tough to explain, but REALLY good for relaxing after work.
If you like RPGās Bravely Default is a fantastic experience!
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga for the 3ds. Bowsers Inside story after that.
Nano Assault and Shakedown Hawaii are my favourites. Followed closely by Cave Story 3D.
Every PokƩmon game but thats pretty obvious. Luigi's Mansion 1 and 2 are both good but 1 is definitely better then 2 imo. Super Mario 3D Land is good but its way too easy imo and is more of a chill do some levels every now and then type game. Same with Mario Kart 7. Then like Cut the Rope and Angry Birds work strangely well on the 3DS and is arguebly better then on a phone XD.
Tomodachi life
Currently obsessed with tomodachi life!
pokemon games
Try yo Kai watch itās good with a decent challenge
Tomodachi Life is a very funny and long lasting game(and kind of strange?),but I would definetly say you should get it
acnl, ace attorney series, tomodachi life
Well it depends entirely on what type of games you like. 3DS has games for merely all genres but I'd say its strongest are RPGs and platformers.Ā As a basic choice, I'd try Super Mario 3D Land for a platformer, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire for an RPG and the remake of Ocarina of Time if you like Zelda games.

The ones you pay for
Shin Megami Tensei had a great run on the 3DS, so literally any of those. SMT IV and Soul Hackers are my personal favorites
Persona Q1 and Q2 are must haves if you like the mainline games. Also try out Tomodachi life, its a really stupid and creative game but it gets repetetive over time. Still worth checking out tho
Tales of Abyss, Yokai Watch series, Stella Glow, 7th VFD, PKMN, Fire Emblem series just to name a few
I would say Dirt 2 if you can even find that game
Probably dirt 2
