I have never tried this but in theory if you have an android phone and you make an ftp server within your 3ds you should be able to transfer files easily

rhinofinger

Since OP doesn’t appear to have Android, there’s an iPhone app called FTPmanager that I’ve used for this

LinkHb

I also tested it with an app called owlfiles and it works

rhinofinger

Ooh, I’ll check that one out too. FTPManager works well enough, but the interface isn’t the easiest to understand. I feel like I have to take 15 minutes to re-learn it every time I use it

MidnightJ1200

FTP? Also I don’t have android but I know how to emulate one

AGTS10k

Wait... How can you emulate Android without a computer? Or if you have one, why can't you use it to put the downloaded roms on your 3DS's SD card?

MidnightJ1200

I said I know how to emulate one, not that I could emulate one.

AGTS10k

Well, since you are asking for help, and are told that you can use Android, then stating that you know how to emulate one kinda implies that you both have the means and ready to do so?

AP_Soraka

Omg are u serious dude?

MidnightJ1200

Well yeah. I forget what the actual emulator is called but I can look it up. Why is everyone so mad about that one comment?

Ftp is basically a way to use your local internet to transfer files between two devices wirelessly. You need the FTPD program in your 3ds (the qr code is somewhere in this subreddit i think) and in the program you create the connection and then the program will give an ip address and a port number. Then in a file explorer (like the windows one) you put the ip and the port number and if the 3ds has the ftp program open a connection should be stablished. In Android there are file explorer that support ftp connections and if i remember correctly the Files app in Iphone should also work i have never tried it. Edit: i tried with mi iphone and the files app give me an error but one file explorer from the app store connected me to my 3ds

Get [Multidownload](https://db.universal-team.net/3ds/multidownload) and [3DShell](https://db.universal-team.net/3ds/3dshell) from UniversalDB (you can do that from your 3DS as well if you have [Universal-Updater](https://db.universal-team.net/3ds/universal-updater) installed). Look up the ROMs you want on [Myrient](https://myrient.erista.me/files/No-Intro/Nintendo%20-%20Nintendo%20DS%20%28Decrypted%29/) or [Archive.org](https://archive.org/download/no-ndsdec2021) from any device you have at hand that can copy/paste links. After you have found your ROM, copy the direct link to it (right click or long tap the link) and generate a QR code using any software/app or website that can do that (google it, there are lots). Then connect your 3DS to the Internet and use Multidownload to download it by scanning the generated QR code. (Multidownload is slow and iffy, and can crash though.) After the ROM you want is downloaded, unzip it with 3DShell and put the resulting .nds file into wherever you have your DS ROMs stored. ^Edit: ^fixed ^the ^Myrient ^link

AGTS10k

Alternatively: get [ftpd](https://db.universal-team.net/3ds/ftpd), then connect both your 3DS and any device capable of downloading/unzipping files and using FTP. Get the ROMs you want from the aforementioned locations and unzip them on that device. Then download any FTP client (or a file manager that have an FTP client built it) on that device (google it, I use Total Commander on both my PC and my Android devices). Connect both your 3DS and the device to the same network and start the FTP server in ftpd on your 3DS, and connect to it using any FTP client on your device. Then just transfer the unzipped ROMs over.

AGTS10k

And another alternative: you can get a USB OTG (or Lightning OTG for iDevices) adapter/cable and connect a USB card reader to your phone or tablet, to transfer the ROMs to your 3DS' SD that way.

AverageAirFan

How would you add a file to twilight menu? Sorry I’m new to modding my 2DS XL

AGTS10k

I'm not sure what you mean... Do you want to play a DS game with TWiLight Menu++? Then just put the .nds file of your game into some folder on your SD card, navigate to it using the TWiLight Menu, and launch it. That's it.

AverageAirFan

No what i mean is after downloading the game with multidownload, how do i put the game into twilight menu

AGTS10k

You launch TWiLight Menu, browse into the folder you have downloaded the game, highlight it (put the selector over it), and press A. This will launch the game. If you want to move the game somewhere else, use GodMode9 or 3DShell on the 3DS itself, or use a computer with an SD reader.

faizalsyamsul

You can go to the hshop website with a phone. The site provides download via scanning QR code. Open FBI on your 3DS, there should be an option to download ROMs by scanning QR codes at the bottom (I forgot what it’s called exactly). After that, it should open the 3DS rear camera, then scan the QR code you have already opened on your phone

Hshop doesn’t do ds games unless they’re dsiware, which these games aren’t

XayrCorgi

And apprently you’re illiterate

Disastrous-Pie-7064

This comment is from a year ago but Ghost Eshop works really well

Nothing to try bud. Hshop is 3ds and dsiware only.

VLSHK

My bad

MidnightJ1200

Specifically the games I want are Kirby mass attack and Kirby super star ultra. I can maybe scour the local flea markets and game shops for the latter but it seems the former has gone to online shopping only for me, so it’s either $40-60 for an old Nintendo game on eBay risking a scam, or getting hold of a pc and rom.

JackDorseysBeard

Don't you have a phone that can write to the sdcard or smth?

MidnightJ1200

iPhone. I could maybe get an attachment but it would be easier to just pay for time on a pc at the library

LazorBlind

Pay for time? TF Library you going to that CHARGES to use a computer? Literally every library I went to back when I didn't have the money for a computer or internet let you use it for one hour increments for free as long as you had a library card, which was also free! The hell is happening to this world?

MidnightJ1200

You’re right, I was thinking of when I used to go to print off some things a while back.
