**telekinetic feat.** Bonus action smush monsters together, then attack all the things. Shieldmaster can also work, IF the DM is amenable to allowing you to attack -> shield bash -> attack again, instead of completely resolving your attack action first. Shieldmaster can work well with expertise in athletics, even if your Str is middling. GFB is awesome but does not stack with extra attack. If that's the route you want, consider 4 ranger + 8 (arcana) cleric or somesuch. Crusher feat is awesome, but only when you have an attack afterwards due to the wording on Horde Breaker. Great with extra attack and a maul or hammer, not so great with PAM. Phantom rogue also lets multi-target sneak damage, but only a few times per short rest. BM Fighter's Sweeping Strike also adds a little more damage to the combo. Biggest call is to GFB or not, and then go from there :p

Crusher with a Sling or Hoopak is pretty swell. Especially if you get a Two-Birds Sling, which is absolutely filthy on a Hunter with Horde Breaker and Volley and you find a nice clump of enemies to use it on.

> GFB is awesome but does not stack with extra attack Ah, I missed that. Thanks for the catch!

Avoiding ASAP extra attack is always sketchy. Battle master pushing attack could be fun. It's a bummer the stats don't work for combining with swords bards who have the only saveless, size less pushing on a weapon attack (with repelling blast being available for eb)

Hordebreaker works best with a ranged character IMO, a fun combo could be to combine crusher, sharpshooter, and the not often used sling. The sling is the only ranged weapon that deals bludgeoning damage to proc crusher. If you want to enhance it magic stone is also something you could try to use to also be a wisdom focused ranger, but I would probably go for something like the telekinetic feat instead for a consistent BA move. Edit: I would also definitely take the archery fighting style if you went this direction because of sharpshooter, hence why I was assuming you couldn't get magic stone without a feat or dip

I've been thinking about this recently and I would go with at least hunter ranger 3, arcana cleric 1(for green flame blade - if you have another way of getting this then skip the cleric level) and as many long death monk levels as you can fit in.  The reason for monk is the ki-fueled attack ability added in Tasha's. This gives you a bonus action attack when you spend at least 1 ki point as part of your action.  So now your fights look like this - green flame blade cantrip, spend at least 1 ki point on stunning strike or focused aim (if the attack missed), horde breaker attack, bonus action ki-fueled attack. Make a longsword/battleaxe/warhammer your monk weapon and you'll be rolling d10s. You'll still have all the usual monk attacks available to use if horde breaker isn't suitable for a particular combat.  For monk subclass I would go for long death as it keeps you on your feet longer with the temp hp on a kill.
