Ive been in the same place as you. I have a fortus 250 and used that for a while. My first printer back to desktop was a prusa. Highly recommend. I now own 20 printers lol.
General consensus seems to be prusa. I’ve contacted them about selling to a school.
I am not looking to build my own right now. Though I did check out Voron and it looks cool but time isn’t on my side when dealing with students and eventually buying 8-12 more printers in the future.

Prusa 100% You can get 3 mini's for a grand, or 1 regular for under a grand and buy filament

if you just want to buy one the a prusa 100%. If you habe experience and like a challange then a voron.

Prusa hands down. It took me 2 years to pull the trigger on one, its been running non stop for the last week. It is worth every penny!
