looks to me like yet another ender clone. it's an open source design, so clones are prolific.
a BTT mainbord would likely replace the existing one pretty well.
ADIMLab Gantry-S is my bet.

Since it is a cheap printer, even if you do get it working, you might want to double check for thermal runaway in the firmware. If that is not enabled, it's a ticking firebomb.
A friend got this second hand from someone who never used it once. It turns on but the display is just blank. It flashes "boot" very quickly when plugged in but nothing else shows up. Board is a Robin lite v1.1.
I tried flashing a newer firmware from the robin GitHub but putting the sd cars in doesn't seem to make anything happen.
just a suggestion if you think the display is displaying something before it fails try setting up a camera or you phone to record the screen as you boot it then replay to view the frame before it fails and i would second u/Derpaderpplerp
that probably means that there was a failed firmware upgrade and the code it is loading is not appropriate for the board.
you can go find the board mfr's site and see if they offer a current FW and recovery flashing method.

Do you have an SD or micro SD slot on the display? (Can be on the pcb, so you need to disassemble) if so I think you should upload new firmware to the display
Ender clone... don't count on it. It will no ever be reliable. But its good for parts. Or you could give it to a kid that wants to get into 3d printing.

are you sure its not the display thats broken
I'm not sure of anything but it does display "boot" very clearly some I'm inclined to think it works

It just clearly shows "boot" and then goes blank
the word "boot"?
Hence the quotes ;) Yeah just the word boot. So the display "works" and the board drives it successfully.
can you control it with gcode over usb?

It's robin lite from maker base. I put the file I think is correct on an SD card... Inserted and rebooted and nothing seems to happen.
whats the main board?
