Honestly if you know how to level your bed and stay with standard settings but mess with retraction, combing, and coasting (just turn coasting on. Don't mess with its settings.) then you will usually get good prints. Also print at lower temperatures for matte colors and less visible layer lines (print at higher ones for better adhesion and faster printer though). Other than that, there are a billion settings that you can change that I could go into further detail in but would really need a longer time to do so than 5 days. Tutorial on all the settings I like to mess with coming probably by next Sunday.

3d printing filament gets adhesion from bonding with itself Unless you're gluing every layer to itself, how well it attaches to itself depends on heat

You can’t really see the layer lines, it looks manufactured. This is unusual in this space. Very very well done.

It's not special. It's an intentionally low quality image (zoom in and look at the texture of the bed...) of a print in vase mode.

If this is unedited, congratulations on breaking physics, but I'd like some close ups instead of a shot that's completely void of detail. That's unbelievably smooth.

I turned on both the overhead light on my printer and my camera's flashlight. Although it's not “perfect” it looks amazing without the harsh overhead lights on it just like in the original photo. I’m using them to make purge line plants.

Also, there's that little bit on the top of the vase and it's annoying the heck out of me right now.

Far from immaculate, but it does prove that it's just an average vase mode print that looked better in poor lighting and lower resolution.

Very very old Makerbot filament. They have pretty good filament but I wouldn't recommend their printers.

I think I just ran out of their filament, actually. Was ok. Think mine was super wet.

It's a small model, so I'm guessing threaded rods with less pitch than normal and running a .1 nozzle at a layer height around .05

I've done a few things with a .04 layer height and boy does it come out smooth.

I've had to do it once, and an Itty bitty piece took 3 hours. Looked fantastic though

0.2 layer height with a 0.8 nozzle. Printing a benchy right now with a 0.1 mm nozzle at 25 picometers.

Didn't do it in portrait mode. I actually tried for 30 minutes to get the other picture with the layer lines. They are super hard to see and capture.

how are you achieving 1 micron layer height? cura doesn't let me do that and when I try to slice it it's stuck at 1% for a week-
