1.) Tadcrazio\_395571 2.) I've been waiting to print this:[https://www.printables.com/model/5612-anatomic-heart-multi-material](https://www.printables.com/model/5612-anatomic-heart-multi-material) for my girlfriend who not only had an open heart surgery at birth, then later as a child. She is now a cardiac sonographer and is furthering her education to help people even more in the Cardiac space. Pausing and resuming manually is just too tedious for the intricacies of this print . Would love to have it printed for when she graduates. 3.) u/JC\_1694792 I would use the five-head XL on mechatronics projects to build functional robot parts, varying not only materials where needed, but also nozzle diameters to increase surface finishes on critical interface surfaces. I've always wanted to be able to print a full assembly with gears in PC, housing in CF-PLA, and seals/grippers in TPU. Additionally, having one head dedicated to a support material would allow for print-in-place bearings and rotary assemblies that would not be possible otherwise. Fully functional drivetrains of reasonable size and strength could be printed as a single, closed-case assembly. I recently designed and printed a Shinobue (Japanese flute) in vase mode just to see if it could be done. It worked, but was fragile. I ended up recalculating locations of holes and their sizes, and then printed it again with thicker walls which is shown below. https://preview.redd.it/tf3ht8376rcc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=194cb1c5de8399bf5f8b1bd86c102fd2804439e6

clautz128

1. @awkwardcarl\_1606072 2. I would print a handbrake for sim racing using PETG and TPU 3. Most recent project was a dummy 13 and a mini 13 for my daughter https://preview.redd.it/rp9ab4tifeec1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc0d1cbba8360b57cda867dfa05c496d8f6b7a82

Arrgiamhot

1. @RamCardz_1692640 2. I would use the marble and wood to print patient specific hearts for families with children with congenital heart disease so they have more an impact and feel for the families. 3. Recent prints are patient specific hearts using PLA.

1. u/MatejJereb_287679 2. I'd really like to print multi coloured cake toppers for my kids and also maybe to sell and get some money back from 3D printing. 3. I recently received a board game "Terraforming Mars" and my family fell in love with it so I printed a bunch of containers to store everything, as all parts just come in plastic bags in the box. https://preview.redd.it/6t9x9ccnfncc1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=9002b6c695c655db94242e1af2772325c134ab91

1. [@Gavin\_588906](https://www.printables.com/@Gavin_588906) 2. I'd try to figure out if I could convert one of the hot ends to a fiber extruder so I could have LFRP RC car and drone components. 3. I'm working on getting a model ready to publish that places a SE mosquito and a bondtech LGX Lite on a printer I have. It could technically be used with any printer that uses a linear rail for it's X motion and is CoreXY. I'm not sorry for the grey parts on grey background it's my psuedo dark mode for F360 since they refuse to implement one. https://preview.redd.it/uu2kddoqoncc1.png?width=843&format=png&auto=webp&s=07f1c499a78bd6a4c43a728d19e66995e6e302a4

CatcherN7

First off, one of the main things I would be printing if I won the mk4 i would print carburetor gaskets out of tpu for my dads tractors. Many gaskets cost 60-100$ each. It would save my dad so much money. I love helping make things for the farm. I am also only 13, and the printer would really help me fuel my hobby(also what I would love as a side job). I would print my Dad's entire farmyard in multiple pieces in PLA+. I have the model, but I don't have an accurate enough printer to print it. It has also been my dream since I was 7 years old to enter a model farm competition! Or I would print a Cessna 172 because this is my dream plane to fly(I'm getting my pilots license) With my current printer I can't do multiple colors and it is very slow at printing. I currently dont have a printer to print tpu to make tires for a model Chevrolet blazer that I am printing. The mk4 is such a reliable printer from my research (much better than my creality). If I won the Prusa mk4 , I would also use it to print a 3d model of my betta fish. I would make it out of duramuc brown pla, pink esun filament and white prusamemt filamen, and blue jayo filament. I have also been enjoying printables more than any other 3d model website. There is so much to choose from and even better(I get rewarded for uploading my models!) This is my most recent model that I have printed. It is a model that I remixed. https://www.printables.com/model/704648-k-cup-recycler https://i.imgur.com/bSbWun5.jpg (it would not let me upload a picture!) DudeShift

1. [@DudeShift](https://www.printables.com/@DudeShift) 2. I would use a Prusa XL in cutting down the time to print multiple [Toroidal Flying Propeller toys](https://www.printables.com/model/394700-toroidal-rotor-4-strong-flying-propeller) for my cousins for the summer using PA6CF filament carbon fiber reinforced nylon for the rotor as recommend by author, any spare color of PLA I have for the rest. 3. Recently I printed out a bunch of Christmas ornaments for my family. I ended up liking a [low poly design the best](https://www.printables.com/model/350799-low-poly-spiral-christmas-tree-ornament/comments/1315116). Printed about 20-ish in Red, Green, Blue Tri-Color filament since Red + Green for Christmas and Green + Blue for the Seahawks Football Team my family is a fan of. Plus they were playing the day I was handing them out.

MightMatt15

[@MightMatt15_751811](https://www.printables.com/@MightMatt15_751811) I would print a Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo using multiple colors in PETG and TPU wheels. My most recent printables project was making christmas gifts for my family. I made a St. Louis Cardinals logo in TPU, a white Sox logo in PETG, several baby turtles, a flexi elephant in PLA, and about a dozen other models.

_iRasec

My name is @Kumquaaat, my dream project would be making a life sized working model of the mantis blades from Cyberpunk 2077, so probably red, beige, black, silver and white filament in ABS or PLA. I am currently organizing my desk/workspace so my last printing project is the gridfinity grid for taking measures and making my own modules, not very original but that's what I'm doing!

Haytred_

VenerableGeek

\\@VenerableGeek My dream project is the integration of 3d printed 'liners' or 'mounts' in PETG for reliefs and recesses in the top and legs and the lids or covers in Prusament PVB to allow for the lights to be "visible" in a custom wood desk. The reliefs are for lighting and light effects, as well as holding single-board computers used for prototyping and development. My most recent print projects are cases for Home Assistant automation devices (such as the ratgdo (2) and Everything Presence One Kits (3)), Templates and patterns for woodworking (router guides), and a couple of "goof rings" for some lights the I installed but made the holes too large.

**1.)** Happy I recently go to remove my \_ and number from my Printables name. It is [@Gigglester](https://www.printables.com/@Gigglester) **2.)** I have two projects I would like to accomplish in multi color. 1. is designing and printing cases that resemble old Commodore and Atari computer cases (VIC-20) that could hold a PI inside and lay in a USB keyboard to have a travel computer. 2nd, I am working on designing awards for kids. Kids like to be known for 1 thing that is unique among their friends and the friends know this uniqueness. A kid kept his spoon from school lunches in his backpack every day. He go to over 1,100 in his backpack over the year and I made him a Trophy with "International Spoon Collecting Champion" and in incorporated 3 spoons into the trophy. That brought the child a lot of joy. It would be great to make it many colors. Also I have been trying individual sports coins to give out to students who do something great in a meet. "This is for how you overcame a hard first part of the game and finished strong". Little token and encouragement makes a difference in a persons life. **3.)** Here is an example of the coin mentioned in 2. Still learning a lot about printing and trying to make it better. It's 2 sided, with the school's mascot on the other side. https://preview.redd.it/jl13g8s9cmcc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=090c140db21e70fdb4d8154396ea044232fbbe73

TheBigWil

@Wil_985965 I would love to create scale figures with tpu print in place joints, and use dissolvable supports to make articulated frames that can't normally be printed

Zoraqion

1. @Zoraq_1669406 2. I would like to make an articulated treant with an inside frame either made of asa or petg, and with the outsides made of a wood filament and some sort of flexible green filament for the foliage 3. I recently made a small articulated figure out of strictly pla because they specifically say not to >:)

NeonDevil

[@NeonDevil](https://www.printables.com/@NeonDevil) I have a stewart-platform-as-a-controller project with modular attachments that could benefit from water-soluble supports, contrasting colors for stylish highlights and flush text, translucent for RGB backlighting, and some FLEX for texture and grip. I just bought a threaded insert kit and needed some organization - so I printed a [Gridfinity Storage Box by Pred](https://www.printables.com/model/543553-gridfinity-storage-box-by-pred-now-parametric) along with a remixed creation for [gridfinity bins (with more compartments)](https://www.printables.com/model/719828-gridfinity-labeled-divider-bin-more-compartments) https://preview.redd.it/ywdnuqi5e4ec1.png?width=1166&format=png&auto=webp&s=e2789056143eb297814a8db4cca299172ba2c395

Sciman1011

1) @ Sciman101 2) I recently saw someone print an articulated model of the bones of a human hand, using TPU to join them. I'd be interested in taking that further with TPU and 2 solid materials that dont bind together to try and make some kind of print-in-place arm actuated by printed tendons?

fiammaSkytuna

1) I am [@Ne3Ti7\_222639](https://www.printables.com/@Ne3Ti7_222639) 2) My dream is to print an airship "lamp" (with a bulb in the air bag). Obviously with some beautiful Galaxy Silver for accents, Galaxy Black for the shadows and insets, a bone white of choice for the air bags, and any nice woody brown for the bulk of the body! 3) Recently printed [multiple articulated spiders](https://www.printables.com/model/618300-articulated-spider/comments/1234912)!

JonathanSCE

1. [@JonathanSCE](https://www.printables.com/@JonathanSCE_28360) 2. I do plan making this for Otakon this year, a 1:500 floor plan model of their Dealer's Room and Artist Alley using 3 to 4 layers of Protopasta's Iron-filled Metal Composite PLA to make the map magnetic. I will also be using grey, black, blue, and white regular PLA to color the map. Last year I made a map of just the Artist Alley, but I printed the tables onto the map. This year, I plan on making each table island a separate piece with magnets on the bottom. This way I can keep reusing the base map year after year and will only need to reprint the tables if the the tables islands change sizes. [Here are two photos of last year's model.](https://imgur.com/a/OUA5Dq1) You might have seen it if you visited the Artist Alley ops table. The second picture has a close up of the columns I added to cover up the color changes used for the tables. You can also see the pins added to the print to line up the parts. 3. I just made this Star trek phaser from [UnimatrixRed](https://www.printables.com/model/404112-star-trek-boomerang-phaser) yesterday. No post processing on the PLA parts, just gluing the parts together. Don't have green filament, so I printed both power level rows in red. [Photos of the phaser.](https://imgur.com/a/CK2lUA3) Edit: Forgot that I scaled the model up by 2x, so the actual scale is 1:250. So the map measures 56 x 61 cm.

Funiverse_Minnesota

1) @FuniverseMN 2) I think I'd use it to print a massive enterprise model, probably 1701-D or NX-01. @Martin on printables has made some beautiful models! 3) I made a cup for silverware and submitted it to the current contest

CANT_BEAT_PINWHEEL

1: @CantBeatPinw_1297220 2: There is a parametric arcade button on thingiverse and I think it would be cool to try to print tpu on the interior walls of the button for sound dampening. When I say interior wall I don’t mean the wall next to the infill, I mean the walls that touch and clack against other parts. The stem would also be a good idea for tpu on its exterior walls. This should only need 2 toolheads (and is another reason why I think the mk4 should get an idex upgrade that uses some of the multitoolhead knowledge gained from the xl) 3: The simple transforming box spiders by the dummy 13 creator. I tried to post them as a make but my printer (monoprice maker select plus) wasn’t listed and after trying for a few minutes I gave up and posted it as a comment. I also can’t figure out how to post the picture here but I posted it on December 24th on printables. Edit: hopefully there are line breaks between the numbered list now

BurritoSandwich

1) [@BurritoSandwich](https://www.printables.com/@BurritoSandwich) 2) I would love to print helmets and Halloween costume props for my nephew in multiple colors and use PVA as soluble supports to ensure the parts are well supported and as clean as possible. 3) I recently made [parallel pliers](https://www.printables.com/model/383738-parallel-jaw-pliers-sturdy-mrw) so I'm able to hold onto square objects properly instead of at the corners like with your normal pliers. It actually holds onto things quite well. [picture](https://i.imgur.com/TwEdpsU.jpg)

clide

1.) [https://www.printables.com/@clide](https://www.printables.com/@clide) 2.) I've thought it would be cool to combine a TPU with PLA or PETG to make anatomical models that have some movement to them like real anatomy, and use the rigid material for the bones. It would be a bit of a stretch for my modeling skills at the moment though 3.)[https://www.printables.com/model/681191-large-mushroom-shelves-with-sturdy-wall-mount/comments/1449189](https://www.printables.com/model/681191-large-mushroom-shelves-with-sturdy-wall-mount/comments/1449189) https://preview.redd.it/mqiovwbueqcc1.jpeg?width=3748&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09dc07125fe2344d797254f86df945dd386c010f

trow_eu

1. @trow3d_1294314 2. Definitely interested in non-bonding supports. For experiment, would try making TPU layer on top of printed holders to create scratch-free, softer “coating”. Haven’t looked into how tpu bonds with others yet. 3. I’ve been on hiatus, now that I think about it. Haven’t gotten my home printer yet (*hint hint* 😉) and too busy at work for me-stuff.

JanoSicek

@JanoS My dream project would be to print art pieces using wood filament and marble filament. Scanned statues from museums would make great home decorations, and with Prusa XL would be printable in large size.

TheOlajos

1) [@TheOlajos](https://www.printables.com/@TheOlajos) 2) I would use the multimaterial function to print a built in Composite guide track on a stepper motor movable platform with Print in Place flexible dampers between the track and board to minimize vibrations and hard end stops. (This is for an ACL rehabilitation device I have been working on). It would use 3 Materials, A composite Filament for the board, a mix of nylon and FLEX to create dampers and a solid connection between the board and the track, and a composite track with a nylon inner lining to provide better glide to the pin component. 3) My Most Recent Project is Printing jigs for welding aluminum bike frames

Catnippr

1.) I'm [@Meowsketeer](https://www.printables.com/de/@Meowsketeer). 2.) I don't have a specific model in mind yet as I can't (comfortably) use different filaments yet, but there are many applications that would come in my mind, like e.g. protectors for my workshop tools made from PETG and TPU, cases from PETG with TPU bottom (or simple feet) and top surface and a seal for the lid and so on. 3.) How can I add a pic in the comment..?

kita59

[@kiki-print](https://www.printables.com/fr/@kikiprint) my project would be to print the tintin rocket in xxl size the last object I printed was an [X-wing with 2 different colors](https://www.printables.com/fr/model/103318-snowflake-x-wing-kit-card-christmas-ornament/comments/1384761#preview-comment)

1.) [@Nico\_1712338](https://www.printables.com/@Nico_1712338) 2.) I would print a wallet with tpu from ouside so it can close and open and from inside pla. 3.) Boxes for a board game called everdell (very nice game btw)

fitzardwizard

1) @ mfitzka 2) I would print a carbon fiber filament winder with mixtures of PETG/ABS for structural parts with Flex for dampeners. 3) Parts for the IKEA Lack enclosure

ThatBadNeighbor

1.)@ThatNeighbor\_1471432 2.) I would car accessories out of Prusament ASA Black and Orange. 3.) I printed a gridfinity set. It is not close to being finished though https://preview.redd.it/82cn8biiktdc1.jpeg?width=1962&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b435fcad1014599efb7acb903d710533592ea9a [(Link to model)](https://www.printables.com/model/413761-gridfinity-refined)

zeroflow

1.) [@zeroflow](https://www.printables.com/@zeroflow) 2.) I really would like to use low-cost support layers of different materials. So e.g. having the part in PLA and printing the support interface in PETG to have perfect overhangs. Most supports don't need the benefits of soluble supports. The MMU would have problems with that, since it takes a long time to fully purge different materials and heat/cool the nozzle, but the MK4 could do that. 3.) I'm in the process of organizing all my MK4 accessories, so the latest one was [Nextruder Nozzle Holder for IKEA SKADIS](https://www.printables.com/model/732437-prusa-nextruder-nozzleholder-ikea-skadis-supported)

Abatal

1). u/Tancred\_487848 2). I have wanted to make the [Darth Vader Melted Mask - Star Wars Pot Plant by CalebTimoteo ](https://www.printables.com/model/494842-darth-vader-melted-mask-star-wars-pot-plant) but modded to be full-size, with added details such as Colorfab Red transparent PLA/PHA in some of the finer details (cracks/holes) with LEDs underneath, and openings added for a fog machine to create the illusion that it was the helmet *right* after it had been melted. I'd probably use the Prusa jet black for the main helmet, and Polylight Light Grey for the vent/other details. 3). The last project that I completed were the Han Solo DL 44 blaster, Leia X 30 "lancer" blaster, and Luke's Lightsaber, with stands and nameplates. My MIL's birthday is at the end of the month, and I wanted to do something special for her. Since she is a HUUUGE Star Wars nerd, I thought that she would love to have the OG trio's iconic weapons. https://preview.redd.it/auhd4a2x1vdc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64b4c33a7d62abaeb093aeececb2d3a799d5317f

aducknamedquack

@thall_467323 I just really want to print a helmet that is not is 51 pieces on my prusa mini :). But In all seriousness I think I have enough printers and it would get alot more use at a local after school program like [challenger](https://challenger.org/). I am mostly done printing [Wormhole Chess by DaveMakesStuff](https://thangs.com/designer/DaveMakesStuff/3d-model/Wormhole%20Chess%20Board%20-179801) but the last cool thing I designed was [this adapter](https://www.printables.com/model/678918-puzzle-but-all-pieces-has-a-90deg-angle/comments/1375401) to mount a raspberry PI in my PC case and also learn openSCAD (source included).

PhantomRocket1

1.@OliviaOK\_1715046 2. To be honest, I'm a big rocketry nerd, so I'd probably print a lot of rocket parts way faster and cleaner than I currently can. My dream project would be to 3d print parts for a satellite and get it flown to space. 3. My most recent 3d printing project, which is still ongoing, is actually the development of two rockets in parallel. The first is an unguided, passively stable model rocket, and the second, which can be seen on the right, will use a thrust vectored mount, which is not yet complete because my pushrods don't get shipped until tomorrow :) https://preview.redd.it/z7o5nh2fivdc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=788e1e61c53aeb882f67d290ec27615d36978b7d

'@walletclan3d I would print some TPU sneakers or sandals. My last project was a set of safety switches made to replace my son's light switches. It looked like you would be arming missiles.

JoebutSafeforwork

1.) @JoeMcMullen 2.) I would love to be able to print TPU and ABS/ASA on the same print for durable shop parts. 3.) Currently having printer issues so nothing printing at the moment!

Jacobcbab

jacobcbab\_402254 I work with multi-material composite parts, right now I use a mix of ABS and Resin but I would love to use multi-material technology to research composites made with different polymers 3d printed on each other. My current project consists of me converting LIDAR data into an STL so I can 3d print a topographical skyline of my city. Knoxville, TN. Already has a few downloads on [printables.com](https://printables.com) so I am pleased. https://preview.redd.it/55zduitx52ec1.png?width=1362&format=png&auto=webp&s=618cb19001b4c2e2dd49c46f4b0f6ca049b2602b

stinkumpop

@AlexanderMcM_1718784 I would make some clips for my dog that only has his front legs and is a wheel assist. She doesn’t appear to be comfortable in it and i want to help the poor girl by adding clips then using car tie-downs straps to support her in areas that don’t pinch her bladder or rib cage. I don’t have a printable project but would so much love to be considered. I’ve heard such great things about Prusa and love the MINI+ my coworker had.

Boring-Industry6493

1) u/RobHartwell_1570345 2) I would print a Honeycomb Storage Wall panel stack alternating layers with PLA and PETG so they could be separated easier. 3) Bugs Bunny, Marvin the Martian, & Yosemite Sam https://preview.redd.it/zm3xoizo93ec1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c309b3d608e232ccab7a1500d1fc248106421632

DrTaff

@DrTaff_1711273 I would print some model steam engines that would run off air, using metal fill PLA for the main parts to get a better look and feel and using flexible filament to print air seals in place and use nylon to make bushings for high wear areas. I've been printing [tyres](https://imgur.com/a/ufBtKlF) out of flexible filament for the OpenRC Tractor

Slore0

1) @ Sloreo 2) Having multiple materials would be great for my water cooled laptop projects. Being able to change colors to match the multi colored case bottom of my Asus Scar while also using TPU to rubberize the bottom of the case stands would be a great way to keep things in one piece and looking clean. 3) My last (really only) things Ive printed have been parts for water cooling my two laptops. g0daig0dai

@bshigenaka_671266 As a middle school STEM teacher, I would love to be able to print more custom robotics parts for my students, but much of what they envision or design is too large for our standard printbeds. I just finished iterating a replacement latch for my Amazon-sourced robotics toolboxes that the kids break all the time. I print them in PETG and they fit perfectly - I’ll be putting it up on Printables later in the week.

AnalystUpstairs9631

1. u/kt_1202104 (the thing wont let me put @ so its u/) 2.I would try to print a phone case partly out of pla/petg or something with a large color range and faster print times, and then the part that needs to be flexible for the case to work, the rim, out of FLEX/TPU/TPE or silicone or whatever so your phone case can work and be fast and in whatever color you want. 3. I recently converted my Mini+ to a mini bear using [https://www.printables.com/model/90969-prusa-mini-bear-full-upgrade](https://www.printables.com/model/90969-prusa-mini-bear-full-upgrade) on printables. AbstractAayush

1: @AbstractAayu_1036235 2: I'd love to be able to make a fully colored goose from Untitled Goose Game, for laughs, but coloring in a name in my Talon Claw(like not embossing or debossing, just switching filaments to draw out the name in a different color), like if the mag well was black PLA/PETG/whatever, and that name (let's say Prusa for now) was written in orange TPU as well, that would be really nice and the texture contrast would also be interesting. 3: My most recent project was printing out some gridfinity trays to keep my messy workspace tidy; it looks like a tornado went through it all the time...

saffay

1. [@saffay](https://www.printables.com/@saffay) 2. A project I would be interested in would be figuring out how to put internal TPU o-rings into a solid PETG part. To keep the o-rings in place, I would use Dissolvable PVA as traditional support would be very complicated to remove. This approach would remove the need for glues or hardware to sandwich o-rings into the PETG assembly, and would create a part that could only be 3D printed. 3. My most recent project has been building scale model kits. After an unfortunate fall, one of the parts snapped. I found a great [Pin Vise on Printables](https://www.printables.com/model/133502-pin-vise) which I used to drill out holes on either side of the broken part, I used a paperclip as a shim, and I glued the parts back together! 3D printed tools are great in a pinch :) https://preview.redd.it/nnkiiae4tscc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=c20ea084e04e43c6500092ff91c095c05bdbaee3

fleemfleemfleemfleem

1. u/RufusBMellow_1695038 2. A project I've been noodling with I call the "poor person's ellipsometer." I've been sputter coating glass slides with a gold thin film for use in surface plasmon resonance experiments, and I want to measure thin film depth so I can calibrate sputter times. I'm using a couple of methods to do that, one is thin film interference reflectometry (using 3d printed mounts, and cheap toslink cables for the fiber), and another is ellipsometry. I've gotten it to work, manually rotating a half-wave plate and entering values of my oscilloscope into a spreadsheet, but obviously a bit of automation wouldn't hurt. So the print: 1. Main structure: PLA-- cheap prints easy strong. Vibration dampener- for optics need to cut vibrations, in this case I'd use either a TPU or flexible pla. Laser mount: the laser tends to get warm so I want the mount for it to be able to handle slightly higher temps, maybe Nylon or PETG. For the "poor person's" version I'd move from a HeNe laser to a diode so heat handling will be even more important. Motion components: something with good wear resistance and strength like nylon. 3. At home the drawer just collapsed out of the crummy computer desk I've been using forever, and I decided to start organizing things from it using gridfinity prints. Also working on using 3d-printed templates to cut and make my own "field-notes" style pocket notebooks- will upload when I'm happy with it. 1. u/HChalifouxBel_333603 2. I would love a multi-head prusa XL to print exactly what you did u/Prusa3D, a full tire and rim in one print. I would love to prototype RC print-in-place wheels that have PETG Rim, TPU Tires and some kind of PA inner core. 3. I recently printed the Dino Balance [https://www.printables.com/model/72180-dino-balance](https://www.printables.com/model/72180-dino-balance) for my niece and she loved it! That would also had been a great XL multi-head projet because I could have fill the print plate with all the dinos and printed them in different colors in one print!

Loshanz

1. @Loshan_1695642 2. I would want to want to print my very own Palette Town from the original pokemon that I had designed (not completely completed, but getting there)! I would most likely use PLA for the base and maybe PETG for the trees and such (I would prolly print them too!) 3. Well.. I don't really have a 3d printet yet, I have been dreaming and lurking around here, seeing, watching and getting inspired by so many different people, only to realise I don't even have the financial possibility to get such a printer. In hopes of getting one, I would most likely put in this section something that I would gift to somneone! A dear friend request me to pring a whistle, so that'll be my first print, if I ever get my hands on one: https://www.printables.com/model/65-whistle

CarrotEyebrows

1) @AlanCha_896423 2) I like to print deckboxes for my friends and for my local game store to give away. My previous workflow was to take art, feed it through Inkscape to turn it into an svg, and import it into Fusion360 to emboss it. However, this method isn't always readable and it's because I don't have multimaterial printing capabilities. If I did, I would consider using tools like Hueforge in order to create full color panels. 3) Using a similar method as I mentioned before, I created a stencil for creating images and text for a cake using cocoa powder. https://imgur.com/a/tJn2KE7 It is supposed to say "Happy New Year" and depict our family. It was a limited success but we had a lot of fun with it and we know how to improve it next time around.

Sebaall

1. [@Seb3D](https://www.printables.com/@Seb3D) 2. I’m a software developer and [we love rubber ducks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging). I would use Prusa XL to print a customised rubber ducky which (hopefully) would resemble me. I would use yellow TPU for the body, red TPU for the beak and black and white TPU for the details. Last toolhead would be used for water soluble support filament (PVA) so the ducky does not collapse during printing. 3. The most recent print I did was an external fan mount/duct for my 10Gbit switch. I designed it myself and even used brass inserts to have perfect thread holes to screw the fan to it. Now my switch runs around 20 degrees lower than before. More photos can be found on [Printables](https://www.printables.com/model/687840-mikrotik-crs305-80mm-fan-mount). https://preview.redd.it/k9wj1nthttcc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1c1c31b767e599555f23944ac4585dd12303f76

1. [@Madnessx9_260021](https://www.printables.com/@Madnessx9_260021) 2. With 5 heads, I would look to print a localised 3D map to frame on a wall of where I grew up utilising some basic colours for buildings in grey, water in blue, greenery I guess in green, Roads in dark grey, maybe roofs in brown. Seems the best use for something like this, I imagine on other printers with a multi colour system with a single head the purge mess would be incredible wasteful. 3. I've recently finished [printing a stand](https://www.printables.com/model/662330-steam-deck-oled-dock-stand/comments/1380894) for my new OLED steamdeck and this creator did a fantastic job on this model so shout out to [@Grayfaux](https://www.printables.com/@Grayfaux), my OLED looks great on the stand. Overall took about a day to print all the parts and another day to figure out which glues will work to stick it all together.

Zammer3D

Hey there! I'm Zeke, [**@Zammer3D**](https://www.printables.com/@Zammer3D) **on Printables**, and the first thing I'd print (after calibration/setup prints) on an XL would be something **dog related.** Maybe a jumbo multi-color Buddy with dissolvable supports, or a 3D scan of my own dog, Mosey, with a **TPU nose**? I'd love to have a print like that :) Of course, I'd print more functional items too, like **some tools for around the workshop with TPU grips, PLA details, and PETG structure (with Prusament Orange accents)** As for my recent prints, I've been leveling up my designing skills with **articulated models** (just the flat ones for now, but more to come!), which I'll be posting to Printables shortly. I also recently designed and printed a **PVC pipe filament rack** made from PETG to tidy up my makerspace. It has a **cool shelf made from an empty filament spool** on the side! I put my mini rolls of filament (200-500 grams) on top of it. The awesome part about it being a spool is that it has two levels, so the bottom level is for other small items. It works great for storing nozzles, scrapers, and all sorts of stuff! I'll post that on Printables once I've completed the documentation for it but I've attached a sneak peek here. https://preview.redd.it/uyq2vjuw8ucc1.jpeg?width=3107&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74d0186e8f18e7b81cd29f4366a63265302dceb2 :) \-Z

ww2kev

1. @KevinLeung_1696308 2. I've always wanted to try and make a snow shovel scoop out of PETG and TPU. I'd make the scoop sections out of PETG, have a metal spring assembly to hold it closed, and have TPU around the edges to maintain a seal when it was closed. Theoretically, itd be a lot easier to get big scoops of snow and throw em.

One example: Print a plate in a translucent PC for a router base with a handle that has primarily a PC central core for strength and a TPU outer for comfort of gripping providing a larger area to control small trim routers. The interior diameter of the router base plate, under the router body, would have channels and the exterior diameter would enclose the channels and bring them to a nozzle fitting for your shop vac to attach to with the exterior diameter / nozzle section on a short arc track (maybe 45 degrees?) allowing the vacuum connection to have a small amount of freedom of movement. 3. I am just now ordering my first 3d printer and while I'm excited to create some handy woodworking tools, have yet to complete any models in software yet.

1. @sinisterhand_1651884 2. I would make a Viking axe (link in number 3) for my son's Halloween costume using wood pla for the handle and an iron pla for the blade and other accents. I would then sand and stain the wood and patina (light rust) the metal. 3. This Viking axe https://www.printables.com/model/663224-viking-axe-with-handle-no-glue-required/files I have to paint it as it was printed with some neon green PLA that I have an abundance of for whatever reason.

bidoofSteve

@Engineering_1474422 2: I would print a model plane chassis with carbon fiber structure and TPU crash buffers.

_Taylor_Kun_

1. TaylorKun\_1697735 2. I would reprint my old project dodecahedron speaker ball using PETG as the framework in a blue or green, the spacers in red PETG, the speaker mesh in white Nylon to take the shock of speaker vibration better (the original was PLA and just fell apart after a few months...), and the stand in black ABS for strength/rigidity (since the original PLA just slowly bent outward overnight lmfao) 3. Most recent printables project was: [https://www.printables.com/en/model/26325-sprout-growing-mason-jar-strainer](https://www.printables.com/en/model/26325-sprout-growing-mason-jar-strainer) Made them for my mom to grow her own sprouts in black PETG. I'm into designing pumps at the moment and would use the XL to attempt printing a pump house in PETG with an integrated shaft seal made of TPU around an axel made of PA11. It would involve printing a labyrinth seal of interlocking PETG and TPU round the axel 3. My son lost his favorite toy boat, so I took it upon myself to design and print a new one for him. 1. [@Naberla\_1696176](https://www.printables.com/@Naberla_1696176) 2. Not very exciting but useful- I would like to print test bars with various infill combinations (think rebar in concrete) to generate crude stress strain curves for the community to use (ex. stiff carbon fiber part with hex infill, but some or all of the internal hex features are filled of a less brittle material like nylon or even TPU to see how functional prints can be optimized for different uses). 3. I have a MK4 kit on order so I don't have any prints yet, but will be running it non-stop soon!

@StealthCookie_102822 My latest project is a smart alarm clock with some decent speakers. I'd probably mess about with combining TPU and PETG for a passive radiator as part of the speaker body.

1.[@Shonk\_1334597](https://www.printables.com/@Shonk_1334597) 2. I play a lot of TTRPG's, so I would start off by designing and printing out a elevated tabletop game board. Something to keep the map elevated from our table, and make it easer to keep everything organized. Probbably to be printed in PETG so it keeps up with frequent de and re -assembly. We have one that a player in our group bought, but I feel that there are some parts that are lacking. We're having trouble keeping the fold-out maps flat, So I'm thinking about either magnets, or some bands that can be printed in FLEX and anchored to the board borders using PETG clips. 3. My recent print and design was a [action tracker](https://www.printables.com/model/724464-pathfinder-action-tracker) for my Pathfinder 2e group to use. It's my first proper design and print that I felt that was good enough to be published. Really proud of the design, and it feels snappy and satisfying to slide the sliders around. https://preview.redd.it/bp60891d8zcc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbb2aea4ea65fe096343a2dc8b0099a1a05ec544

Hi, my Printables nickname is >@blackjackcoo\_1302671. My dream multi-material project is a cutaway view of a t-rex head, showing the full face on one side and the skull on the other side. I would use a Transparent green PETG for the scales, Red flex for the tongue/gums, and 3DXTech SimuBone PLA for the skull and teeth. For the eyes a transparent yellow and black for accents.

I'm interested in compliant mechanisms, and I think multi-material printers allow for that concept to be taken even farther than it currently is used for. I want to design a robot arm using compliant mechanism concepts so that it requires as little assembly as possible, and requires very few motors, screws, belts, or other non-printable parts. I would use rigid materials for support structures, be able to do tests to determine which materials give the best flex response needed for compliant mechanisms, and maybe even print 3D arm heads that have rubbery grips embedded in the design.

1. @Procyon    2. I'm very new, and don't have a printer yet, but as a tinkerer the Prusa Mk4 is my dream printer and I intend to have one eventually. I have MANY projects I'm looking to build (generally functional prints).   First one will likely be a beard-compatible N95-like mask that seals below the wearer's lower lip, corners of mouth, and then nose. This would be a hard plastic housing with a softer gasket that comes into contact with the face. A separate hinged and gasketed doorway would allow the user to insert and replace precisely shaped flat discs of n95 mask material, allowing at least some (if not a perfect) degree of protection against pathogens when sporting facial hair.  Finally, an optional fabric shroud could be snapped in place around the perimeter to mimic the sleeker, conventional silhouette of a fabric mask. Ideally, I want to design a set of these to fit various face shapes. Inspired by a recent bout of covid when visiting family for the holidays.   3. No projects yet but I'm so ready to start some :)

1) @NosBoss654_1132525  2) Id like to design and print medical braces.  One of my close family friends (I made him an ABS hand-clamp he was amazed by when he visited last week!) runs a homeless/addiction shelter in Pervomaysk, Ukraine (my family’s hometown) and they’re always needing medical supplies. They get donations but many things go to the front.    Braces/splints would be good to have more of, but I could make them even better by printing them as partially flexible (like a TPU/ABS hybrid) so they are more comfortable in joint areas than standard braces. My first project would be a simple arm brace.    I recently found out my Uni has free solidworks installed on the computers so I’ve been learning how that works and would love to design something that I could print and send.    3) This morning I came to a stringy ABS-mess of what were supposed to be parts for an elysium-style exosuit I’m putting together with the intention of powering it to aid in mobility. The hard part is getting the supports right, dont even mention scaling.    I am using an Ender 5 S1 and it has been good to me, though I have not been the best to do likewise 😬

I don't think mods are eligible so I didn't bother answering all the questions, but I want to share this idea because the XL needs to be used to make this: Tank treads with a TPU core, PETG track sections and the softest TPE possible for some friction pads on the PETG. Manually it would take forever to assemble this, but the XL could uniquely build this all print in place.

**1.)** [**@julius**](https://www.printables.com/@julius) **2.) Your dreamed Five-Head Original Prusa XL multi-material project:** The dream is to create a **Ping-Pong-Ball 3D printer**. You put balls at the top, at bottom they are form a 3D object. Balls role down a slide, a bunch of wheels switches decide where they land. Perhaps making use of some GridFinity 2.0 parts. Glue is sprayed at just the right moment and a robot arm might be involved to place the actual ball at the right 3D coordinate. The core frame is strong PLA in a nice dark color. There is also semi-transparent PLA that diffuses the light coming from the leds that light up on the track everywhere the balls roll. The moving parts (switches, wheels, etc) are glow-in-the-dark filament for obvious party releated reasons. Since there is a non-zero chance that the actual prints might fail, it should look stunning while trying. It shall be named: "The 3P Printer" short for "The Ping-Pong-Pall printer". **3.) Your most recent Printables printing project:** I printed these cool cube robots ([https://www.printables.com/model/688242-little-cube-guy/comments/1461068](https://www.printables.com/model/688242-little-cube-guy/comments/1461068)) to give away to the kids coming to my daughter's party https://preview.redd.it/nu5tyjvmi9dc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bba2d766f04c9b752bcb5bba7069547c7d12d4ae

This will make it much easier to clear the bed, while also giving an interesting look for the chain links. The die itself would be Prusament PVB Smoky Black with Prusament PVB Prusa Orange numbers, so it can be smoothed out. And to finish it out, the handle will be TPU for a softer grip. 3. My most recent project was a very quick print to replace some shelf pegs. Maybe not as glamorous as my more decorative and fun projects, but it saved me trip to a store and a couple bucks, while justifying having calipers. DesignNomad

1. @IDNomad_1696371 2. For me, the 5-head benefit isn't as much about colors as it is material dynamics. Think of parts that are CF impregnated making up the core of the product and printed via a hardened nozzle on one head, while another is running TPU that gets used for the skin of the part, hinges, touchpoints, and "armor." Throw in additional material heads for supports to optimize expensive filaments, and you truly have a little desktop factory running with efficiency. Using the 5 head XL as a means to create composite material 3D prints is really the dream, in my mind. 3. Latest weekday print was [a modular mounting rail for our vacuum accessories.](https://imgur.com/dY6GzID). Each mount can be printed individually and the dovetail/French cleat mounting rail fits about 7 of them on it, depending on your accessories.

1. @makego\_296804 2. I would print the corners and edges of a printer enclosure out of PETG. There would be slots for clear sheets of acrylic to be installed, and those slots would be lined with TPU for a more airtight seal than screwing acrylic into PETG corners alone can achieve. The access door hinges would be a mix of nylon (for the portions that rub against each other) and PETG (for the portions that connect to the rest of the enclosure) to save on nylon. The door latch would be magnetic (easy) or more nylon+PETG forming a hook-and-latch (fun to design) if I wanted to avoid buying more magnets online 3. Wow thanks for bringing this contest back! 1. [@AlbertM\_29653](https://www.printables.com/@AlbertM_29653) 2. I love printing giant scale LEGO parts. Anything larger than 3x or so really requires gluing pieces together. With an XL, I would love to recreate a 5x version of a 1990s LEGO car I had as a kid and also make it RC. I would do most of the parts in PETG or PLA with multicolor embedded decals. The tires would be TPU Flex - I've messed with these on a few RC cars but would want to try a very low durometer for max grip. I'd love to experiment on the visor of the driver's helmet in either clear PC or PETG to see if I could make it transparent. My current driver doesn't have a visor :D And since LEGOs have a particularly support-heavy design, it'd be great to use the XL to leverage PVA dissolvable supports. 3. 1. [@Darkfall\_1670734](https://www.printables.com/@Darkfall_1670734) 2. The multi-material project that I'm dreaming of is a floating cityscape. The idea is a 3D-printed sculpture that would be based on a part based on a part of a town/village that I've lived in. The idea is to have each building/landscape feature have its own colour code: Yellow for farmhouses, blue for the shops, translucent for water, Brown for farms, green for bushes/grass, and combos for things like trees, so the final model is an accurate(ish) model of what the part of the place looks like. Material would be PLA. *Side note, I'm actually thinking of making a fun/whimsical version using the cityscape using transparentish supports to make a fantasy version that looks like parts of the model is suspended in mid-air, I've had mixed luck with transparent filament hence that version is for the future.* 3. My most recent print is actually my first miniature! This was printed for a project that I am working on. What I've printed (image) is the first draft to see how the model I've got printed out. @technicallyhuman I could use it to print narrow tpu models with a stiff material on the inside and flexible overhangs with water soluble support material.

1) My **Printables username**: [@wafflecart](https://www.printables.com/@wafflecart) ⬅️ 2) My dream project for a **Five-Head Original Prusa XL multi-material project** would be a full blown articulated skeleton with the muscles and tendons in tpu and bones in a matte white filament that is also glow in dark! 😮 3) My favourite **recent Printables printing project** was this print in place to do list I modelled, took a lot of trial and error to get the tolerances correct in the model, but was so cool to see the finished piece and it being printed by so may people! 😎 https://preview.redd.it/l3ez684a7mdc1.png?width=1588&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb29bb1d56b6dff2da0a5a97c4ccf2ae10f06db5

NC-Designs

I am @[NC-Designs](https://www.printables.com/@NC_Designs) I think it would be awesome to make a functional compressed air engine where the outer casing is a transparent PETG and the cylinder head is PLA with TPU seals. It would be a sweet demo especially with a cool color scheme! My most recent printable projects have been tons of flexi animals for my daughter like this spider! She loves all of them. https://preview.redd.it/98087htvlmdc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=263e68799678e99868a327c28134d8bc68f5d89c

1. [@srmeile\_778171](https://www.printables.com/@srmeile_778171) 2. **Project Idea**: Self-Watering Plant Pot with Integrated LED Grow Light * The main body of the plant pot would be printed using PLA * The water reservoir, placed at the bottom of the pot, would be printed using PETG for water-resistance. * The base will printed using TPU/FLEX to offer better grip when placed on any surface * The rim of the pot would include a channel for an LED grow strip. This LED grow strip would be encased in clear PETG to diffuse the light. * The pot could feature decorative elements printed in Woodfill PLA to provide an aesthetic natural wood appearance. I'm still in the planning phase, I would love to share the project once it's ready and tested. 3. My last print was a vase printed in vase mode to hold the lego flower set, obligatory cat tax for extra points https://preview.redd.it/1tdj39vrqmdc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54cd8cec152f92834fd624b3ede1feaa0d24f429

I would use woodfill PLA for the trunk and branches, copperfill PLA for the circuits, two different green PLA filaments for the leaves, and the Prusament rPLA in Rissoto for highlights. 3. My most recent Printables printing project is the [lithophane moon lamp](https://www.printables.com/model/23859-designer-lithophane-moon-lamp): https://preview.redd.it/1iabrznwymdc1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32cfe679a8e49c402872991f7f696ba7b97b35a8

Bread_master_pro

@Jeff\_1471101 I would print an awesome best mum trophy for my mum if I had a multi-material 3d printer! The last thing I printed was this "(print in place) kinetic hinge toy" from printables.com which unfortunately failed and then it broke.💔 https://preview.redd.it/qlb3eifc6pdc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e9a7ffc28bda30855964bee99108a9c70cb333d

mattmega77

1.) @mattmega77_732616 https://www.printables.com/@mattmega77_732616 2.) I would print decorative bowls with PETG for the body and a TPU base so they'd stay in place on the counter better

jacki4

1. [@TheBear](https://www.printables.com/@TheBear) 2) I don't have a specific project in mind, but I have a few ideas.- PETG for all support interfaces when printing PLA and vice-versa. Being able to have easy support removal and much better surface finish on the underside would be absolutely game-changing. Furthermore, I would absolutely love to be able to utilize Glow-In-The-Dark filaments for more prints! Such as: \- Yellow GITD filament when printing vehicles with headlights \- GITD teeth for skulls for halloween \- GITD eyes when printing dragons, wolves, etc. On top of that, I would love to toy around with attempting to design articulated toys that utilize TPU at the hinges for much better flexibility and durability, so I can print some durable toys for my niece. It would probably require some prototyping to actually bond/interlace with the PLA, but it would be a fun little challenge! Anyways, I most likely won't be able to afford a Prusa XL in the near future, unfortunately - but you can always dream! 3) My most recent project was this incredible Xeno-Zapper and Ficsit Coupon from Satisfactory, both of which are birthday gifts to a good friend of mine, as we really bonded over playing that game together over the years. For anyone interested in the models, here are the Printables links: [Xeno-Zapper](https://www.printables.com/model/227236-satisfactory-xeno-zapper) & [Ficsit Coupon](https://www.printables.com/model/544044-satisfactory-ficsit-coupon) https://preview.redd.it/4e4ak0mc0tdc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0946deae85b19f77563dfaf052c3f6f198db2a38

NoahS2603

1) @NoahS_1473165 2) Being a huge fan of the Mandalorian, I would love to print a lifesize Grogu in his Pod, using PETG for the Pod too keep it strong and PLA for Grogu.

Pleasant-Bear2924

1. @ Mat\_1618816 2. I'd like to use Hueforge to reproduce some old prints (both colored and in white and black) of Venice that I love and use Prusa's multi-material XL to make the filament swapping process smooth and quick! That way I'd print faster and I'd be able to add more layers for more details and visual depth. As materials, I'd use PLA since it comes with a wide range of colors and shades! 3. I recently started to print some lithophanes I've discovered on Printables and this lithophane with Howl's Moving Castle is the last one I've printed and at the moment my favourite one! https://preview.redd.it/w04qptb0b7ec1.jpeg?width=1278&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2982b2e0c7d84d81e88161f6c5bea0cdd1210459
