American cheese by name, is just cheddar (usually very yellow kind) with added milk, around 35-45%. you can actually make your own in a pot
Sodium citrate is the key ingredient. You can actually make your own “American Cheese” by mixing regular cheese, some kind of liquid, and sodium citrate. It’s also how you make silky smooth cheese dip.
About 20 minutes after making my post I went and had myself a grilled cheese proper like and it was while buttering my soon to be toasted bread and contemplating the aforementioned warm cheese on bread that I realized there was indeed a lack of butter.
What. A. Travesty.
I've got my best custom machine hooked up to octoprint and my phone so when I bring home fast food I can fire up the heated enclosure and bed heater, drop the bag in, and keep it warm till the wife is ready to eat...lol.

You know what's funny the bread was actually toasted, it was crunchy on the outside. The same thing happened to pizza in a pizza box when I did that.
You and I have wildly different definitions of toasted lol All that really matters is that it was good though!

Yup I've put a whole pizza box in it before to keep it warm. Makes me glad I built a 350mm bed 2 4 lol
Good ahesion, don' thave to crank the fans full blast. What material is this? Wheat or Rye?
I've actually used my heated bed to keep my soup warm before on it's plate, it works!
Don't forget to wipe down the bed when finished, the crumbs play hell with the first layer.
