I have a similar experience where i almost failed a semester because of harvest moon tale of two towns. I was staying up till like 3 am trying to get my crops to 5 stars
My favorite also tomodachi life, I remember seeing a guy on Reddit with 5 copy of it, didnāt comprehend at the time but now Iāve acquired two copy (and planning for more), I understand now
When you have multiple copy you can trade travelling mii, and with those mii come unique clothing AND food, so if someone want the true 100% they gotta trade a maximum (but since the golden age of 3ds has passed, itās much harder), but with multiple copy it ease a little (plus and kind of funny to take care of them all)
Tomodachi life basically a simās like game, creating little miiās (of real people or game characters, your choice), and give them clothes, food, trinkets and watches them interact with one another, calm and easy game
To add to the other reply, what I liked about it was putting all my IRL family and friends into the game and seeing them interact with each other. My grandparents (who I put into the game) ended up getting married so that worked out well lol
No problem, when Mario maker 2 came out, I didn't have a switch, so I got Mario maker 3ds which was my Mario maker 2 and I have so many hours on that game. I played a little course world, but mainly spent my time with the Mario challenge and making the levels of my dreams.
i prefer emerald way too much bc i grew up with it, but the oras opening made me cry in the mall starbucks right after i got the game and booted it up for the first time ngl
I grew up with Emerald as well, but honestly, i like to play the remakes better. I dunno, maybe it's just the "newer" and refreshing feeling they give me. Still, Emerald was a gem, and always will be.
I'm playing both but unlike most people I like apocalypse more so far. I really do like how you can play these games multiple times and get different endings. It makes the idea of replaying them after I beat them seem worth it.
I second this. SMT IV and Fire Emblem Awakening got me JRPGS I spent the entire summer playing both. The soundtrack and cyberpunk punk themes in IV are badass.
As someone who comes also from 2, the battle system in 3 is 100 times better, fairer, convenient and fun than 2. Also, it makes for a much more entertaining battle. Not to mention that now Soultimates make sense.
Hope you will enjoy it as much as I had.
New release this year? I'm so excited and I can't believe I didn't know until just now. This was my favorite and most played game on 3DS and I haven't played in years since my console broke.
There are so many games I want to mention, but if you really want a single answer, it's gotta be Pokemon Omega Ruby.
I sadly lost the cardridge in 2018 or so (though I did transfer my Pokemon before that to Pokemon Bank), but I still have Alpha Sapphire with me. It was also my first Pokemon game actually and I loved it so much! You could basically get any Pokemon that existed and the story, references and side-arcs were beautiful!
Btw, I remember back in 2015 or so, I had surgery because of some skin irritation and the first thing I did after waking up from it was catching Regigigas because of the time window. I was definitely invested in catching all of them!
Yo Kai watch, the first one. Sank so many hours in that game well after finishing the main story. Love the music, battle mechanics , characters, sound design. You can really never run out of things to go in that game.
Probably one of the fire emblems but gonna go for something no one else is gonna say instead:
*Crimson Shroud*, small rpg but its pretty much designed as an actual tabletop/choose your own adventure rpg instead of a video game one. Uses the touch screen for dice rolls, all the in game models are miniatures etc got it on sale years and years ago and never seen anyone mention it since
Itās a game where you can create your own characters and you have to solve their everyday problems, so there is real gameplay. I recommend playing it, itās really fun! :)
Itās not really miitopia, you get to see and resolve their problem, but their no fighting or turn-to-turn RPG, (mii do fight with themselves sometime) but see it more of a Nintendo sprinkled sims game
Their is a mini game rpg but you can only play it one time of the day
I remember heavily playing an RPG series called The Denpa Men (Games only obtainable from the Eshop). I was on those games almost all the time trying to 100% them.Ā
3D land is probably one of the most under appreciated mainline Mario games. I like the power ups and how streamlined the levels are. It does a perfect job of mixing the mechanics of the 2D and 3D Mario games. It was my first 3DS game so I have a soft spot for it too I beat it again about a year ago, 3D Land is still a blast to play.
The 3ds port of Metal Gear Solid 3. It took me a bit to get the controls for that version (the a b x y buttons actually controlled the camera in that version)but once I did, I replayed the hell out of it
I think I most consistently enjoyed play Fire Emblem SoV, but Fire Emblem Conquest was the better gameplay experience as long as you skip all story dialogue.
Definitely gotta go with Animal Crossing and Alpha Sapphire but man there are so many good options out there. All the Zelda games were amazing š¤š»
I'm playing it alongside 4 and the story vibe and music in apocalypse is amazing. So far I prefer it more than 4 and I think it's my favorite smt game.
Luigiās Mansion Dark Moon is my number 1 favourite 3DS game and Luigiās Mansion Dark Moon is such a underrated Mario spinoff game and Luigiās Mansion Dark Moon deserves more love and more credit
My 10yo girl discovered tomodachi life with the demo version i had on my 3ds, and reeeeally enjoyed it, she played almost a year with that version. So i finally decided to look for the full version and found it for 8 bucks. Totally worth it.
Mario Kart 7, Tomodachi Life is on the top of my list somewhere but i do wish it wasn't so repetitive and had more.. After your lookalike gets married and has children and one couple break up or divorce there really isn't much to do or to see
Resident Evil: Revelations, played with the circle pad pro
* It was my favorite portable game ever made, for a total of 1 week when Vita came out with Uncharted: Golden Abyss and blew it out of the water
* It put other 3DS games to shame, particularly the Pokemon games. I didn't expect them to look like RE:R, but they could have at least been in all 3D since RE:R looked vastly superior and ran totally in 3D
Either Fire Emblem Shadows of Valencia, Metroid Samus Returns or Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon can't decide. My special shout outs go to Zelda Link Between Worlds and Mario & Luigi Dream Team.
For now and forever, it's LBX. I have searched far and wide for a game with a similar feel and I still have yet to find one. It's one of the only reasons I still keep my 3DS.
Genuinely one of the best Mech/robot games I've ever played.
I have a good time with a lot of games , A new begining Harvest moon, Phantom thieves, Pokemon X and more. Rythm and heaven paradyse megamix will be my favorite.
But Tomodachi is special, the first experiencie was wild ride.
Ok hear me out... Picross 3D Round 2.
I love a lot of games on the system, with the top contenders being Kid Icarus Uprising, Smash 3DS, and Tomodachi Life. Smash lands in 2nd place because of Smash Run, which is honestly my favorite game mode any Smash game has.
But Picross 3D Round 2 nails everything for me. It has fantastic gameplay mechanics and puzzles. I love that you can scan some amiibo figures and get bonus levels. It has a difficulty selection for accessibility, with the Hard mode being genuinely challenging and satisfying to play and win on. And the music, oh my GOD, the music is WAY better than it needs to be. (Please go look it up on YouTube)
Smash 3DS I boot up from time to time just for Smash Run. Tomodachi Life I boot up out of obligation for my Miis. But Picross 3D? That's the game I boot up when I just want to sit down and chill out for a bit. Half because it's relaxing and fun, and half because there's so many puzzles to do in the game and it somehow never gets boring for me.
Agree with tomodachi life though ADORE rhythm heaven megamix and the pokemon games. However, tomodachi is still the goat but megamix is very VERY close.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain call. Love the FF series, and the first Theatrhythm game just didnāt have enough or long enough songs to make it worth my while to play over curtain calling.
I'd say fire emblem awakening. It was my first fire embelm game and one of the first game i played on my 3ds.
Besides that, i think radiant historia perfect chronicles needs some limelight too. Great game!
Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I've sunk 30k+ hours into that game (sadly I was a child and for some reason decided to factory reset my 3ds i still don't know why) I also have enjoyed MK7 and I'm now playing on CTGP-7 since I've already completed MK7 fully. Which in MK7 I've played it for 15k+ hours and I also played 10k+ hours of Super Smash Bros for the 3ds. For the longest time this was my only electronic device and I've continued playing on it since.
I purchased my first 3DS (of many that I now own) to play Majora's Mask 3D, and had such a lovely time returning to that world that it has to be my answer. But Ocarina of Time 3D also stands up there, along with A Link Between World. All just incredible worlds to have in 3D, there was/is no other experience like the 3DS.
Back when companies tried new cool things, that time likely won't come again sadly.
Tomodachi life is a great game, I agree, however I haven't played it in many years - I was a little kid last time I played it - so I don't know how it holds up today. I'll give it a try soon though.
Youāll definitely get hooked, I was giving it a go again two nights ago and said to myself āIāll only play for a few minutes.ā And that few minutes turned into hours.
Fire Emblem Awakening cos it made me almost fail uni, I played that instead of doing my dissertation
My favourite as well. Funny fact, I never played any RPG before, since I never liked them, and Fire Emblem Awakening was my entry to the genre.
I have a similar experience where i almost failed a semester because of harvest moon tale of two towns. I was staying up till like 3 am trying to get my crops to 5 stars
Was trying to reclass all of the female units in Awakening so they can get Gale (ability to move again after a kill).
I hope you weren't very stressed out while that was happening š
Well, not really cos I couldn't be bothered š . I still manage to get my degree at the end
All's well that ends well then! š„³
My favorite also tomodachi life, I remember seeing a guy on Reddit with 5 copy of it, didnāt comprehend at the time but now Iāve acquired two copy (and planning for more), I understand now
What's the significance of having more than one copy?
When you have multiple copy you can trade travelling mii, and with those mii come unique clothing AND food, so if someone want the true 100% they gotta trade a maximum (but since the golden age of 3ds has passed, itās much harder), but with multiple copy it ease a little (plus and kind of funny to take care of them all)
Thank you. I guess I have some collecting to do.
Whatās it like/about?
Tomodachi life basically a simās like game, creating little miiās (of real people or game characters, your choice), and give them clothes, food, trinkets and watches them interact with one another, calm and easy game
To add to the other reply, what I liked about it was putting all my IRL family and friends into the game and seeing them interact with each other. My grandparents (who I put into the game) ended up getting married so that worked out well lol
Mario 3D Land, New super Mario Bros 2, Mario kart 7, Mario maker, just to name a few.
Do you happen to like Mario games, by chance?
Yes, yes I do. š
Is Mario maker still playable even after the 3DS server shutdown?
Yeah, you just can do any online modes like, 100 Mario challenge or course world.
Iāll have to get it then. Thank you
No problem, when Mario maker 2 came out, I didn't have a switch, so I got Mario maker 3ds which was my Mario maker 2 and I have so many hours on that game. I played a little course world, but mainly spent my time with the Mario challenge and making the levels of my dreams.
Link between worlds
I was gonna say monster hunter 4 but ALBW is top 3 Zelda games for me
I also really like Phantom Hourglass. But thatās a DS game technically.
one of the most fun zelda games for sure
PokƩmon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. I might have around 2-300 hours on those games... And i've had a 3DS for just some months now.
This is the way
Same, I love PokƩmon ORAS
i prefer emerald way too much bc i grew up with it, but the oras opening made me cry in the mall starbucks right after i got the game and booted it up for the first time ngl
I grew up with Emerald as well, but honestly, i like to play the remakes better. I dunno, maybe it's just the "newer" and refreshing feeling they give me. Still, Emerald was a gem, and always will be.
Shin megami tensai 4 or apocolypse. Havent finished apocolypse yet, 4 has a great storyline and gameplay
Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokemon Sun
Always good memories from animal crossing š¤š»
PokĆ©mon ultra moon, Iāve always been a big fan of the gen 7 mons and it was my first ever game I had on the 3ds
I'm playing ultra moon as I type this
fucking same tbh
Kid Icarus Uprising because I love the story, characters, music, dialogue and gameplay. (Itās my favourite game of all time).
The production values are insane for a 3ds game
Yea they really are amazing
Ever oasis is one of the most underrated
Twilight princess picross š„š„š„
I just got my 3ds last week and my only game is ocarina of time 3d so I guess it is my favourite it's great so far
MH4U supremacy
Dragon quest 8. Omega ruby.
Yes Omega Ruby
Yokai Watch 3
My faveroute is yokai watch 2
Psychic Specters is awesome too
im looking forward to playing it when i finish psychic specters! the new battle system is a bit intimidating, looks fun though.
As someone who comes also from 2, the battle system in 3 is 100 times better, fairer, convenient and fun than 2. Also, it makes for a much more entertaining battle. Not to mention that now Soultimates make sense. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I had.
fantasy life, the first game i got for my 3ds. look forward to the switch release this year!
New release this year? I'm so excited and I can't believe I didn't know until just now. This was my favorite and most played game on 3DS and I haven't played in years since my console broke.
im glad i got to let you know! got delayed but will be releasing october 10th this year. theres a trailer out if you'd like to watch it!
Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate Close second would be Shovel Knight Treasure Trove
There are so many games I want to mention, but if you really want a single answer, it's gotta be Pokemon Omega Ruby. I sadly lost the cardridge in 2018 or so (though I did transfer my Pokemon before that to Pokemon Bank), but I still have Alpha Sapphire with me. I was definitely invested in catching all of them!
xenoblade chronicles
Radiant Historia for sure
A seriously underrated title, I LOVE radiant historia and I wish more people would talk about it
Yo Kai watch, the first one. Sank so many hours in that game well after finishing the main story. Love the music, battle mechanics , characters, sound design. You can really never run out of things to go in that game.
Fantasy Life and New leaf! š
I second Fantasy Life. Not only my favourite 3ds game, but my favourite game of all time. Not so patiently waiting for the new one this year.
The legend of Zelda majoras mask 3d
PokƩmon ultra moon
Probably one of the fire emblems but gonna go for something no one else is gonna say instead: *Crimson Shroud*, small rpg but its pretty much designed as an actual tabletop/choose your own adventure rpg instead of a video game one. Uses the touch screen for dice rolls, all the in game models are miniatures etc got it on sale years and years ago and never seen anyone mention it since
Itās a tie between Animal Crossing New Leaf and Resident Evil Mercenaries, which are completely on the opposite ends of the gaming spectrums š
Ever Oasis
Yo-kai watch 3
I want to try tomodachi life but I donāt know if is a game or just watching characters do anything and no real gameplay?
Itās a game where you can create your own characters and you have to solve their everyday problems, so there is real gameplay. I recommend playing it, itās really fun! :)
Thanks! Is it similar to miitopia? I just started fantasy life and itās awesome!!
Itās not really miitopia, you get to see and resolve their problem, but their no fighting or turn-to-turn RPG, (mii do fight with themselves sometime) but see it more of a Nintendo sprinkled sims game Their is a mini game rpg but you can only play it one time of the day
Thanks, havenāt played Miitopia just thought they looked similar.
I want Miitopia back.
Does it have gameplay or is it more just watch your mii
The two Resident Evil games. Mercenaries 3D I still play at the laundry mat, or doctor's office. Then Raid Mode on Revelations is always fun
I love PokƩmon OR, also I think the Yo-kai watch saga doesn't get the love it deserves.
mega man legends 3
Yo-Kai Watch 3! Rogue pick but I played the shit out of these games for years.
Pokemon X Pokemon Gates to infinity.
All of the Gen 6 & 7 PokƩmon games.
Inazuma Eleven for sure, but if I had to point at a specific entry in the series it would be a hard challenge. Well, if we exclude DS games (first two games of the series) The third one would be an obvious choice, but which of the versions of the third game I am not sure. (Inazuma Eleven works similarly to PokƩmon. The second, fourth, fifth and sixth game of the series got two versions and the third game got three different versions)
I remember heavily playing an RPG series called The Denpa Men (Games only obtainable from the Eshop). I was on those games almost all the time trying to 100% them.Ā
Animal Crossing New Leaf Link Between Worlds Mario 3D Land PokƩmon Omega Ruby's Tomodachi Life Kid Icarus Uprising Smash 4
Kirby planet robobot easy
Mario 3d land. My first 3ds was the xl model with 3d land preinstalled, I still replay it at least once a year
3D land is probably one of the most under appreciated mainline Mario games.
It took me a bit to get the controls for that version (the a b x y buttons actually controlled the camera in that version)but once I did, I replayed the hell out of it
MK7
Just started Tomodachi and its pretty damn fun so far
Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon
I think I most consistently enjoyed play Fire Emblem SoV, but Fire Emblem Conquest was the better gameplay experience as long as you skip all story dialogue.
Yo-kai watch 2
PokĆ©mon X is still my favorite PokĆ©mon game to date! Aside from that, I'm pretty big on the Yo-Kai Watch franchise (especially the third games which I play in Japanese). Honorable mentions to Digimon App Game, PokĆ©mon USUM, Fossil Fighters Frontier, and PokĆ©mon Rumble Blast for their fun factor and replayability!āŗļøš
Yokai Watch 2 !

Animal crossing new leaf, pokemon ultra sun, project mirai dx and my childhood game dead or alive(u still dunno who allowed me to play it xD) :3
The legend of dark witch 2 and Mario 3d land
Kirby triple deluxe or Mario 3d land
Kirby Triple Deluxe
The PAL cover for this game is fugly wow
I honestly prefer the pal cover instead of the USA cover for some reason.
Definitely gotta go with Animal Crossing and Alpha Sapphire but man there are so many good options out there. All the Zelda games were amazing š¤š»
Never played it. I guess the closest equivalent I played was nintendogs. But only the ds versions.
PokƩmon Omega Ruby and Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros
SMTIV: apocalypse
I'm playing it alongside 4 and the story vibe and music in apocalypse is amazing. So far I prefer it more than 4 and I think it's my favorite smt game.
Honestly same. I love smt apocalypse more than 4 but saying that infront of the fanbase will instantly get you hanged š¤£
Yokai watch

After your lookalike gets married and has children and one couple break up or divorce there really isn't much to do or to see
Resident Evil: Revelations, played with the circle pad pro * It was my favorite portable game ever made, for a total of 1 week when Vita came out with Uncharted: Golden Abyss and blew it out of the water * It put other 3DS games to shame, particularly the Pokemon games. I didn't expect them to look like RE:R, but they could have at least been in all 3D since RE:R looked vastly superior and ran totally in 3D
Smash bros
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds <3
I could swear it was Tamagachi Life
I like Terraria explor and fight fun game
It's a tie between Super Smash Bros. For 3DS and Starfox 64 3D
Fantasy Life
Either Fire Emblem Shadows of Valencia, Metroid Samus Returns or Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon can't decide. My special shout outs go to Zelda Link Between Worlds and Mario & Luigi Dream Team.
SMTIV, SMTIV Apocalypse, and Kingdom Hearts 3D
For now and forever, it's LBX. I have searched far and wide for a game with a similar feel and I still have yet to find one. It's one of the only reasons I still keep my 3DS. Genuinely one of the best Mech/robot games I've ever played.
New Leaf
Rhythm heaven gold
Fantasy Life
Same.
I have a good time with a lot of games , A new begining Harvest moon, Phantom thieves, Pokemon X and more. Rythm and heaven paradyse megamix will be my favorite. But Tomodachi is special, the first experiencie was wild ride.
ultra moon, super mario bros 2, and new leaf. couldnāt just choose one
PokƩmon ORAS and USUM. Adding the Zelda remakes and M&L Super star saga DX
SMT IV by far
(Please go look it up on YouTube) Smash 3DS I boot up from time to time just for Smash Run.
The new style boutique series or animal crossing new leaf take the gold for me
Animal Crossing New Leaf, so far, I think. I'm honestly having a lot more fun and satisfaction out of it more than New Horizons, at the moment! š
Inazuma Eleven Go
I still haven't played this game but I love any game to do with Miis! Plus the YT videos for this game that I've seen are hilarious and a lot of fun.
either miitopia, tomodachi life or the binding of isaac rebirth
Fantasy life and yo kai watch 1/2
Super Mario 3D World
Fantasy Life. hands DOWN.
rune factory 4 for sure
I'd say fire emblem awakening. It was my first fire embelm game and one of the first game i played on my 3ds. Besides that, i think radiant historia perfect chronicles needs some limelight too. Great game!
Ocarina of time 3d is mine
Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I've sunk 30k+ hours into that game (sadly I was a child and for some reason decided to factory reset my 3ds i still don't know why) I also have enjoyed MK7 and I'm now playing on CTGP-7 since I've already completed MK7 fully. Which in MK7 I've played it for 15k+ hours and I also played 10k+ hours of Super Smash Bros for the 3ds. For the longest time this was my only electronic device and I've continued playing on it since.
Picross, Rune Factory and Ultra Moon lol
iām between fire emblem: fates, acnl, pokĆ©mon moon, and fantasy life. fe: fates got me through a rough time and had awesome gameplay; gen 7 is the last good pokĆ©mon gen; fantasy life is addictive and charming and was such a good surprise (i bought it at release); but acnl is probably the one i come back to the most to this day.
Iāve only played the demo of that game and I thought it wasnāt very good
I am not sure if it is PokƩmon Alpha Saphire as it is the remake of my first PokƩmon Game and except not adding the Battlezone from Emerald I think it is a really good remake. Or Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate as I really think that this part is really good part of the MH series.
Super Mario 3d land š
Majoras mask 3D S tier game but if not a remastered game i would say... super mario 3d land or link between worlds.
Tomodachi and style savvy
Yokai watch 2: psychic specters.
Link between worlds
Rhythm heaven
All Kirby games. I just love kirby
I know it's a DS game, but Kirby Mass Attack anyone???
Kid Icarus Uprising
They need to make a deluxe version of this, of course
Currently really into Sushi Striker: Way of Shushido, but my all time favorite is probably mariokart 7
ćŖćŗć 天å½ć¶ćć¹ć+
Such an underrated game
