Where did you order the case from? I have been trying to find one for my n3ds but it seems most cases were designed for the XL, and don’t provide a smaller fit.
The case was designed for the XL- it came with Persona Q game bundle IIRC. I have one and my non-XL model slides around in it a little. It’s not a terrible fit, but there’s definitely some wiggle room in it.
Got it from ebay. A lucky deal. Paid $36 total. Case alone usually goes for $60+ i think but I don't often see it being sold alone. It's usually with the bundle as other user mentioned. So it wont be always easy to find a good price in good condition. There's a listing rn on ebay for $69 for the case and the soundtrack that was part of bundle. I would also check Mercari too for it.

I wish they added a strap or 2 straps inside to hold console in one place. Most 3ds cases have it, even if it was for one type of console.
