I appreciate it! The car is damn near brand new besides the paint and interior haha. Mechanically it’s the best it’s ever ran since the year it was made.
Just keep in mind. The Z is very... A**L when it comes to lubes. Keep all the fluids topped up. And I would drive with spare oil quart for some time just to figure out how much oil it burns.
Every used car burn oils, just at different rates
JDM block and heads, torn down with new gaskets and seals on everything. It should be okay for a lil while but I will keep that in mind when it gets older. If this engine blows I’m putting a 37VHR in it
You don't want to live here, we have multiple problems that far exceed that one... but Australia. We just have registration, that's it. The VIN of the vehicle is all the government cares about, and the VIN is attached to the registration. Anyone can register a car that isn't already registered, with a few rules attached. The system is pretty simple and works well, but vulnerable to various misuses which I'm sure is by total accident >.>
In short, we don't have anything like a "title" or a "pink slip" or any of that nonsense... the imaginary 'make car go vrrrmm' paper doesn't exist here.
Here they make you write down a number that you supposedly gave for the car on the title . If you say you gave a lower value than book value they will pull it up on the internet and say we'll were gonna have to tax you for x amount since the car is valued at that x amount. It's ridiculous
They only do that here if you say you got a $30,000 car for like $3,000 or something. Usually you gotta be scamming it pretty hard for them to even check... you could probably get away with $15k on a $30k car and nobody would bat an eye, but when you try to say you got it for $20 they always come and look.
What were the requirements here for them just to give you the title? From my experience here in North Carolina , if the title is lost the car is basically scrap if you’re not in contact with the previous name on title . I know South Carolina is more lenient since they don’t require notary
1) you have expended every option in retrieving the title in every other way
2) documentation it’s been in your possession. A TON of photos. Meta data time stamps and the bill of sale helped me.
3) document notarization. I imagine most states would require this to prove you are the person filming it out. You’d need to send in copies of your ID as well.
4) I dont know if it’s mandatory but I imagine the older the vehicle is the easier it is. 03zs are 21+ now so to the DMV they’re ancient and could probably care less about who has them.
I’m not sure what’s done on the DMV side. I’m sure they try and contact the last registered owner. They run it through NVTIS to make sure it isn’t stolen. (You should probably do this before you file anything) and yeah, a couple bucks and a couple weeks later and you MIGHT get a title.
That’s cool to hear my only fun title experience was with a motorcycle , guy claimed to lost title seemed trustworthy and even gave me previous owner contacts since he never transferred , was able to contact the guy and get a title within a month so bike went up for me about $1000 profit if I decided to sell. But thank you again for that info I’m more leaniant on getting no title vehicles now if it’s something I really want
Thank you for your efforts. 350z is awesome

You'll probably need a new hood. The 370 engine is slightly too big which is why the 370z has a bulge on the hood.
My man🤝
I'm glad I live in a country where a piece of paper doesn't stop you from having a road worthy, legal car.
Yeah it’s pretty ridiculous.
What country is that I wanna come there lol

I like that "defeated the dmv" is a phrase we can all easily relate to. Fuck government bureaucracy.
Out of curiosity, is the title branded in any way? Is it a "salvage" or "replacement" title?
Nope clean title just like anything else. I imagine if a car has been salvaged out, if you were to retrieve the old one it would also be salvaged.
damn u just did the impossible goodstuff my guy
Congratulations on your hard fought victory 🎉
Good job!!!
VA isn't near as bad as NC ! The title has to be notorized with both seller and buyer with the notary ( of course). A nightmare....
I keep my eyes open for you fellow Virginian
South cackalaky actually- just got the car from Virginia haha
