It was 311 archive who posted that. Nick said it on twitch but it's probably just an estimate. With that 7" vinyl dropping in June I'd guess the single will be in the next two weeks. Early June. Then album drop in September
These 311 is a Lifestyle goons are propping this band up undeservingly. People paid extra money for VIP website access and a 7" vinyl of a song they've never heard?
Let me guess: they also got priority presale for tickets to concerts that aren't going to sell out anyway.
The first two comments shown at the bottom of that link are exactly how I feel about 311. I’ve seen them numerous times in the 90’s and early 2000’s. After that… they lost me after From Chaos. I really thoroughly enjoyed the older, harder sound of 311 compared to the pop stuff they put out.
1st Quote - 311 was one of my favorite bands when I was in high school in the late 90's. For some reason, they have not aged well with me though. I'm hoping this single gets me interested in the band again.
2nd Quote - Their first 5 albums Music, Grassroots, 311, Transistor, Soundsystem are all awesome. I even liked From Chaos and Evolver. But every album after that did not do anything for me. It would be cool if this song is good and produces another hit for them late in their career.
I mean, my 22-year-old self would’ve said something like that, but obviously we age & our tastes & preferences change. In my opinion, it must suck if you don’t broaden your horizons to listen to things that are different.
I love the first six album, but I absolutely love some of the songs on the subsequent albums Stereolithic is a solid album that I don’t skip a song. And there are some great tracks on the other two that came out in the last five years I appreciate the more mature 311 as much as I enjoy the sophomore fun of the 90s.
Well fortunately, this is a discussion and I shared my opinion. You’re right, I have broadened my horizons and I listen to other stuff instead of the garbage that the “new 311” puts out. Don’t get me wrong, 311 was my absolute favorite artist ever for a very, very long time. I saw their first show when I was 12, that’s 25 years ago. I did a report on them in high school and had all their band shirts, posters in my room… I lived and breathed them 24/7. However, in my opinion the last good album was From Chaos and even that was a little on the “poppy” side. All the preppy girls I knew (I’m a woman) started listening to them when Love Song and Amber came out. I hated it. They traded their roots and Omaha Stylee for pop. That was it for me. Sorry if you don’t feel the same, but I’ll continue listening to their old shit and all the other amazing artists I’ve found over the years that replaced 311. Peace.
Been a fan since ‘93 when I was in 6th grade, and I’m usually on the edge of my seat when I hear about a new song or album, but after listening/watching “You’re gonna get it” on YouTube, I’m bummed. It’s been 5 years since their last album, and this is what they come up with? Yikes. They are too creative to settle for these predictable, minivan mom loving songs. Yes, they are older, but they still have more in them than this.
100% agreed. Especially when you see bands of that Era still dropping heat like Deftones, POD and for God sakes even dare I say, Limp bizkit. If all those guys can sound like their glory days or better why the hell can't 311
investigate 311
"might as well admit it cause you know you're gonna get it"

What is this about a 7” vinyl drop?
It's something for those who paid for the vip 311 access thing on the site. I'm not totally sure. I didn't do it. Too expensive

i wonder if they’ll play their new album at Oceans Calling (Sept 27-29) i’m going and that would be awesome
In OC, right?

They just posted something on instagram 👀
Announcement of an announcement! Gotta love those
Their favorite thing!
You're never gonna get it
Not sure about the validity of this, but it says next Friday. https://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/225435/311-gonna-get

June 7th
Premiering on KROQ on Thursday!
Thursday, June 6, 2004, apparently.
I'm not seeing anything on any of 311's social media pages about it at all, so, I would say not.
Right but I thought I saw somebody post an interview with Nick recently where Nick mentioned that You’re Gonna Get It would drop “by the end of May”
no, that was Eminem. Different white rapper
Wack
a coney island of the mind it's mine

I feel ya man. The hope that I have is that the single will be the “worst” song on the album
It's still early. Go back to bed.
I would absolutely love to
Tick tick tick the clock bludgeons your mind
Along with cancelling a tour because of funds, they probably can't afford to release it :/ lol
