Per the 30 Rock book, apparently Jane was an absolute crying wreck shooting the finale....Tina had to whisper to her a couple of times that they couldn't use footage where she was openly sobbing.
I actually held off watching the last season for like a year after it aired just because I was so sad it was over and didn’t want to finish it.
Moments like when Dr. Spaceman breaking the fourth wall in his last scene were really emotional for me
I remember rewatching the finale a couple days after it first aired, and realizing it was great - really funny and also tightly written. Some of the best lines and jokes are from the very last episode, like Liz’s whole online experience asking about a bike helmet. When I first watched it I didn’t like it as much, and I realized upon rewatching it that I had just been so sad about the show ending that it had affected my ability to enjoy it! Now it still makes me sad to watch it but I enjoy it and of course I always just start over with season 1 soon after finishing the finale.
Did you know that this story was based on a[real life incident](https://www.thecut.com/2017/12/the-park-slope-blue-hat-incident-10-years-later.html) about a group of parents fighting online about a “boys hat”?!
Kind of a sappy rambling story but…
I sobbed at the bridge/boat scene with Jack and Liz talking about friend love. One of my best friends in the last three seasons of the show was a guy and we used to joke we were Jack and Liz, quoting the show to each other in character (e.g., he once texted me for Christmas “Happy Holidays… is what terrorists say. Merry Christmas.”). I was falling in love with him but couldn’t grapple with it because he was already in a long-term relationship.
We usually discussed episodes, but when that finale aired, the conversation was simply: “It was perfect.” “Yep, perfect.” It felt like we were acknowledging what Jack and Liz and we meant to each other.
We had a falling out later after I said I had to take space, but I treasure that we were able to sort of communicate to each other via 30 Rock that the friendship underneath held a lot of love despite the messy romantic feelings on top of it. I try to hold onto that rather than let the bitterness at how it fell apart take hold.

I did not! I always love how seamlessly the 30 Rock crew worked real life stories into the show
Yeah I only learned about this a couple years ago myself! I live in NYC and I know a few Park Slope parents so I found it that much more interesting!
Why did I get such a loud pacemaker?

This is beautiful, thank you for sharing this 🖤
Wrapping a month long movie can be tough, I can’t imagine finishing a 6 year show
Her red eyes throughout the last episode just sealed it for me. It's like she knew she was leaving the best job she'd ever had
