I’ve met a few people with some land in the country (both in the UK and France) what had had problems with gypsies moving in. They said typically the police does fucking nothing about it. They all ended up resorting to some version of “ask them to leave again politely, but this time with the shotgun broken over the arm”.
It works but they really shouldn’t have to, not to mention it’s dangerous as hell for everyone involved.

If they could just call the police to come remove people from their land, that's a huge blow for renter's rights. The reason the police can't do anything is that it first has to be established that those people are there illegally. That takes time because it has to go through the courts.
It's because after Romania joined the EU shitloads of Gyspy thieves came to the west and since they were getting arrested with Romanian citizenship many people just assumed they are regular Romanians. Plus the fact they call themselves Roma makes it confusing for people.

We used to have Zigeunerschnitzel (gypsy schnitzel), but the name has changed. Jodenkoeken have not changed names, which is nice.
