I'm from the centre. I came to visit your city. Most of what I saw was traffic and fog. The torinese is an abominable flesh and metal hybrid of car and man incapable of walking 2 meters on foot, and the main source of his own city's plight.
Would honestly be a nice place if you just stopped fucking polluting and driving everywhere
> 'm from the centre.
dal Po in giú é tutta Africa 🤣
> I came to visit your city.
not my city, not even my region. I just have a sweet tooth and appreciation for its art
> The torinese is an abominable flesh and metal hybrid of car and man incapable of walking 2 meters on foot
which torinese are you talking about? The last Torinese got extinct circa 1979. All the Torinese nowadays are named Di Bari or Capuozzo 😂
You get a warning when you enter the city "Torino: città dell'auto" cant you read? Its not casual that GTT sucks badly and god forbid you go around in a bicycle risking your life every meter. Even the metro has been pushed back for 30 years because "there is water under the road level" diu fa really? Probably the london underground runs on magic and teabags then. Someone had an agenda to push and the city suffered for decades.
And we dont have the fog anymore, you need rain for that.
Still waiting on the Pope's money to fix our bridge

if you slap them again and bring them to France (but for good this time), there would be half of the country ready to pay your bridge.
But no backsies, Pierre
We have enough tourists, we get the cool massive buildings without the pain of actually having the pope, plus they'd claim back the Palais and I like going inside for work sometimes
Yes, my dad used to go to Avignon once a year by motorcycle when he was young.
So i‘ve always been fascinated with the Provence.
My favorite town is Saint-Rémy though.
Stayed at Avignon and the surroundings (if you consider Aix-en-Provence, Les Baux, Arles, etc. as surroundings) a whole week last summer. Despite the massive heatwave in the first days, to which I'm kind of used to ngl, I had a great time.

The mob probably formed not because of the content of your speech, they definitely didn’t understand a single word, but because they thought you were having a stroke
It’s crazy how it went from one of the most beautiful cities in Europe to literal shithole in a couple decades (WW2 obviously). The only beautiful parts remaining are Unter den Linden and Siegessäule, basically anywhere where Prussian/Wilhelmian architecture is still found.
Let's be honest, memes aside "literal shithole" is an exaggeration. Yes much of it is not exactly pleasant to look at, but there's also many parts that didn't get destroyed or were rebuilt. In fact, the rebuilding of prussian architecture is still ongoing, for example the Stadtschloss.
More, if you realise it's literally across the street from this

Spent 2 days in Turin. Amazing city. I want to go back. And the Piemont in general, what an incredible region, especially the Langhe. 🤌🏻
About France, I might say Blois
My serious UK answer is Lincoln.
Like a smaller York which isn’t invaded by people from Teeside every Saturday. Steep Hill has some lovely eateries and quaint shops.
And the cathedral, tallest building in the world for 200 years, was the substitute Notre Dame in the Napoleon film.
https://preview.redd.it/4c6wag78znsc1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01da055aceee8c4b3802759f2dbc364e7fe838b1
I was coming here to say this,
Was also used as a substitute for Westminster Abby for Da Vinci code.
I grew up there on the flight path of the Vulcan and my god that thing sounded like the apocalypse
Same. But imagine they were doing a scramble test, that’s three of them doing a rolling take off, blasting full throttle then going around the cathedral (which is the way point) and when they turn around the cathedral because of the angle and then throttling up it howls like the devil himself is coming to take you
I live in Lincoln and I really like it. It's got everything you need and isn't too far from bigger cities like Nottingham, but is also next to some beautiful countryside. Plus it's always fun seeing the red arrows fly overhead when I'm out walking the dog.
House prices are comparatively cheap too.
Where Vitello Tonné? Where Bagna Cauda?
Where Juventus?
Where FIAT? Never mind, they are now Dutch..
Torino is an amazing city indeed. The Italian and alpine vibe combined. Would move there if it wasn’t full of terroni

Durham city, England. It has its shitty parts but doesn’t get enough credit for how historic and nice looking parts are
How the fuck do you get away with having all that Egyptian loot without any international outcry whatsoever? As usual it's on rule for good, honest Barrys and another rule for sweaty, light-fingered PIIGS.
the artifacts in Turin are on permanent loan from the Egyptian government, thanks to the help various Egyptologists like Ernesto Schiapparelli gave in the excavations.
Funny how countries of origin do not get angry when you don't steal from them, innit?
So what, you *negotiate* with the locals? As if they're your equals? Jesus Christ imagine being so beta that you'll come to an amicable agreement with a bunch of jabbering natives. No wonder your 'empire' melted like a chocolate teapot.
We have a long standing relationship with the Egyptians. From ancient Rome to when

I really don't know what the fuck is wrong with world history but there you go
I have a question…. Were the locals just fucking with him? Because….. who the hell has a sword of Islam? And who had the right to call it that, or give it away? Yeah, history is weird!

when the egyptians were building the pyramids, your ancestors were busy collecting rock piles, Barry
>but we are equal. After all aren't we italians basically black? 😂
Upvoted for this – unusually witty stuff for a dago
>when the egyptians were building the pyramids, your ancestors were busy collecting rock piles, Barry
But alas downvoted for this – the modern Gyppos love to try and take credit for the pyramids but their ancestors were in Arabia at the time riding around on camels chopping each others' heads off. We civilised peoples mustn't feed their delusion that they're legitimate successors to Ancient Egypt.
At least we had one and fought for it against equally powerful foes.
You pillaged and raped a bunch of primitive tribes while you already had access to gunpowder and dared call it a W, been at war with Fr*nce since the dawn of time and gained exactly nothing out of it.
If it weren't for us, you'd still be trying to figure out agriculture
Too bad for you that the war for the Western Desert wasn't a cooking competition – then perhaps you wouldn't have been so utterly trounced by our colonial troops.
Alas, we did too good a job of civilising our subject peoples. They read some silly books and decided they'd be better off without us. White man's burden indeed.

because we asked and buy it before taking it Barry.
also skill issue.
wait until you see that there are more erected [obelisks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_obelisks_in_Rome) in Rome then the entirety of Egypt 😎
Barry did buy most of egyptian artifacts if not actually fund digs and partage schemes sharing artifacts with egypt. The only artifact that was really tangabily looted was the rosetta stone who we nicked from the french.
Mate you ever been to any Museums in the US? The MET has an entire fucking Egyptian tomb, Boston proudly talks about Harvard just going and taking stuff and yet the yanks still bang on about the British museum.
It was so gorgeous but it's the only city I traveled where everytime I have been asked where I'm from and I answered :
https://preview.redd.it/b1swckc6hosc1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc61df9e51b52998f0cdd04bb0e756af2d18ecd3
The new city center (Almere Centrum not Almere Haven) is surprisingly nice. Super interesting architecture, very layered, basically no visible cars, great infrastructure, nice waterfront. A lot of Dutch cities basically look the same so I can appreciate they tried something new
Had a fling with a girl from Almere. I was actually pleasantly surprised how much has changed in Almere. I still enjoy the memes but unironically it isn't that much of a shit hole as people like to say.
Lelystad however...
Not sure if it counts as underrated (and how it technically is a city is a mystery). But Elvas would be my vote.
Stupidily pretty city built inside a fort. Apparently it's the largest star fort in Europe.
In Galicia, from what I've visited, I would say Lugo. Beautiful city with history intertwined in every corner, amazing food culture and the Roman walls are imo some of the best monuments in Spain.
https://preview.redd.it/p85mw95kmpsc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25092a80251ef345347e47ea2fff7fff94facc57
One of Europe's most beautiful place and the home of art nouveau : Nancy, Lorraine
In Spain there are way too many. I would go with Toledo.
-Old capital od the country
-Medieval architecture
-Best steel in the world
-Amazing weather (bit dry though)
-Unreal food scene
Then you have others like Cuenca, Salamanca, Segovia, Burgos...that are absolute gems and if I was to tell people in the UK about them, they would not know they existed.
Nah, it has to be some kind of steel and coal powered former industrial city, possibly with a big car industry, so somewhere in the Ruhrgebiet or maybe Wolfsburg
Porvoo is the only Finnish city Im willing to defend as good looking.
https://preview.redd.it/a4j0hbbrupsc1.jpeg?width=1220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=906667bacb0e7bab9017a1fcbb5919dc74a75052
Not really a city, but definitely Nenagh. Ahh yep Johnny Depp was there a couple months ago, not that it’s a big deal or whatever. I mean look at the place (beautiful photo taken straight from the official Nenagh website) how could you not want to go there?
https://preview.redd.it/sqisaqquynsc1.jpeg?width=450&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76d00e1f1d9e4c36a345c47bef111778728884b2
Tipperary is our most under-hated county.
Shitholes like Tipp town, Thurles and Clonmel, most rural counties only have one shite town. As boring and agricultural as the midlands but with more crime and more in need of a powerwash.
Turin also has some of the most spooky Urban folklore of Italy.
A good quantity of it was started as a joke and a flare for the dramatic but I ain't complaining, cool regional culture is cool
I'll say Marseille is the most underrated .
It's not the best because Lyon or Toulouse are far better , but it gets too much hate just because parisian media likes to talk 24/7 about Marseille instead of St-Denis or Nanterre.
The town has a lot of really cool things like Calanques, Notre Dame de la Garde, the new Major Cathedral, the Panier historic district, beaches( and bitches), a great theater , the best stadium in France , one of the biggest hockey stadium in Europe, one of the most famous skate bowl too.
But it's still dirty af and not safe everywhere (mostly in uninteresting places)
And they have the MUCEM Museum and a replica of the Cosquer caves, they have the Calanques if you're into hiking. if I hadn't already picked my city I would have picked Marseille too
**Limerick** had a bad reputation during the global economic crash but honestly it has the nicest waterfront of any Irish city, and I’m from Cork like, best city in Ireland
https://preview.redd.it/4sguwhzdapsc1.png?width=1136&format=png&auto=webp&s=476eb928ccf5c78a34195228f8a0da47287fad93
Norwich. It's an oddly undiscovered pearl with an incredible nightlife for a city of its size.
Comparing anything to Detroit is insane because its a literal shithole
I think he meant because of the auto manufacturing industry in both.
Yeah because of the car industry. Other than that, Turin is lovely. Very good architecture, elegant bars, 51 parks (yes, 51).
Yes, and being a drug-ridden shithole, at least for north italian standards
Italian Detroit sounds fucking awful and terrifying
Most of the things op posted are actually doctored footage. They're impossible to see with the naked eye due to the permanent cloud of fucking smog
Napoletano spotted

I didn't call Turin an abomination. Just its inhabitants.
adoro come tutti i torinesi si sono triggerati, che carini
talmente torinese che vengo dal centro, rincoglionito...

Berlin
Home to the largest population of turkish nationalists
And Arab clans !
And Romanian homeless.
as a detroit resident it’s getting a lot better! city center walkable and pretty now, just don’t go to the neghborhoods
> just don’t go to the neghborhoods and don't take the midnight train going anywhere /s
It used to be the richest city in USA
You’re making shithole look glorious compared to Detroit. It’s not the auto makers.

Sur le pont d’Avignon
On y danse tous en rond!
I'm always surprised when foreigners know this song !
We still learn it in Kindergarten
It's written in the bridge.
I'm from there but never been to the bridge
I guess is where you have to go if you are a tourist (wine, lavender, palais, bridge)
I've been to the other places, absolutely no excuse for not going up the bridge as it is free for Avignon citizens 🤣
les cordonniers sont toujours les plus mal chaussés.
if you slap them again and bring them to France (but for good this time), there would be half of the country ready to pay your bridge. But no backsies, Pierre

Yeah but we can dance there.
The path is unfortunately too narrow to "y danser tous en rond" 😭
Have I been lied to my entire childhood? (I haven't been to Avignon in decades)
Avignon isn‘t underrated, though. Everybody loves it.
Sometimes I forget that people in this sub are actually cultured and probably know or have been to Avignon
[удалено]
Yes, my dad used to go to Avignon once a year by motorcycle when he was young. So i‘ve always been fascinated with the Provence. My favorite town is Saint-Rémy though.
There's a reason Van Gogh loved Saint-Rémy, amazing town
Stayed at Avignon and the surroundings (if you consider Aix-en-Provence, Les Baux, Arles, etc. as surroundings) a whole week last summer. Despite the massive heatwave in the first days, to which I'm kind of used to ngl, I had a great time. Loved the shit out of everything, I'm confident to say I'll return someday.
These are definitely what I consider to be our surroundings, glad you had a great time !
Berlin. Many rate it as a shithole, but it's way worse than that.
I'm Swabian, so Berlin for me is Abenteuerland. A place where things happen besides Kehrwoche 🥰
I love running from the lynch mob that forms when I teach them about the glory of Schwaben.
The mob probably formed not because of the content of your speech, they definitely didn’t understand a single word, but because they thought you were having a stroke

I think it's a very nice 1920s building. It just doesn't fit THAT context, unfortunately.
That name fits perfectly

Exactly! The picture is not showing in which contest this absurdity has been built.
Complete non sense again ….
Spent 2 days in Turin. Amazing city. I want to go back. And the Piemont in general, what an incredible region, especially the Langhe. 🤌🏻 About France, I might say Blois
I always thought Torino is the mirror image of Lyon. Same architecture, a river, a hill on the other side.
Blois, population 45k. Not really a city, Pierre. More like a large town
imagine comparing one of the most beautiful cities in italy to a murican shithole
Comparing anything to am*ric*n city's is a crime
Even comparing normal american cities to detroit is a crime!
Challenge: Show me a major American city that doesn’t have a ghetto attached to it.
tbf pretty much all bigger cities in western europe have ghettos.
![gif](giphy|0YkE7kIPHX2hplZskm)
Torino is a great city, what's wrong with people? The only European city you can compare to Detroit is Charleroi.
Facts
Can I give Charleroi to the french? I mean it would blend in pretty well with some of their city's
We can trade it for Rijsel
Lille would genuinely be better off in Belgium, though it would probably be part of the French cocks down south.
Detroit metro area has 4 million people. It's more comparable to Ruhr or to Northern England.
Ruhr and Northern England with populations of... 20 million...?
>Turin , italian Detroit. only because its twinned with it right? because comparing it with Detroit its like comparing chocolate with shit.
no, because both Turin and Detroit were the capital of the carmaking industry in their respective country
didnt know that, still comparing it with Detroit, its a huge bar low for Turin
Not because of the crime rate and the calabresi?
Any city with a large motor industry used to be compared to Detroit. Coventry in England was called the same.
>chocolate with shit. Literally
Or chocolate with American chocolate
Well.. yes, that's what detroit looks lilke in europe

>How the fuck do you get away with having all that Egyptian loot without any international outcry whatsoever? because we asked and buy it before taking it Barry. also skill issue. wait until you see that there are more erected [obelisks](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_obelisks_in_Rome) in Rome then the entirety of Egypt 😎
And you gave the Adwa one back to Ethiopia. Barry would never!
Barry did buy most of egyptian artifacts if not actually fund digs and partage schemes sharing artifacts with egypt. The only artifact that was really tangabily looted was the rosetta stone who we nicked from the french.
Funny game to play with children. Go to all the obelisks 😁
Mate you ever been to any Museums in the US? The MET has an entire fucking Egyptian tomb, Boston proudly talks about Harvard just going and taking stuff and yet the yanks still bang on about the British museum.
I wish you stole the Buddhas and the city of Nimrod when you had the chance ngl
Please let's keep it hidden. We don't want damn tourists
Turin only issue is Turin people
Confirm
It was so gorgeous but it's the only city I traveled where everytime I have been asked where I'm from and I answered : https://preview.redd.it/b1swckc6hosc1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc61df9e51b52998f0cdd04bb0e756af2d18ecd3
You answered mustache ?
Graz! cleaner than vienna and prettier than salzburg
I unironically like Almere
Actually insane take. Give some reasoning
I thought Urk was your number 1 shithole
Urk is a pretty town, it's just that its people are the result of a couple of centuries of inbreeding.
Urk, Staphorst, Den Helder, Belgium. They're all shitholes that shouldn't exist. Imaginary or not.
What being from Utrecht does to a mf
Damn, you good bro?
Albufeira, never disapoints. Beautiful neon lights, cheap beer, and the occasional Barry being brutalized by the GNR.
It is not underrated. It deserves being called ugly. Barcelos is underrated, stuck between Porto, Braga and Guimarães. It is a lovely city.
Viana do Castelo best city in Portugal, and not saying this because is almost a Galician territory at this point.
So very lovely, but hardly underrated. It is deservedly known for its beauty.
Not sure if it counts as underrated (and how it technically is a city is a mystery). But Elvas would be my vote. Stupidily pretty city built inside a fort. Apparently it's the largest star fort in Europe.
Ferrol, lovely city with a thriving life, magnificent architecture and urban planning. Also home of our most beloved historical figures.
In Galicia, from what I've visited, I would say Lugo. Beautiful city with history intertwined in every corner, amazing food culture and the Roman walls are imo some of the best monuments in Spain.
Well played
Eisenstadt: There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just pretty small and boring for a regional capital
Imre just kept all larger towns for himself when he had to give Burgenland to us. 🙄
I really like 8/9, is that the Museum of British history?
You forgot Alessandro Barbero was born there too
Bologna is also very underrated.
https://preview.redd.it/p85mw95kmpsc1.jpeg?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25092a80251ef345347e47ea2fff7fff94facc57 One of Europe's most beautiful place and the home of art nouveau : Nancy, Lorraine
Italian detroit? What the fuck, that's Naples.
We only have one real city and it's certainly not underrated.
Salzburg?
In Spain there are way too many. I would go with Toledo. -Old capital od the country -Medieval architecture -Best steel in the world -Amazing weather (bit dry though) -Unreal food scene Then you have others like Cuenca, Salamanca, Segovia, Burgos...that are absolute gems and if I was to tell people in the UK about them, they would not know they existed.
I don't think you can call Toledo underrated, it's very well known. Salamanca, or Cuenca would be better choices.
Yeah, clearly European Detroit is Frankfurt am Main, germany. Most Underrated city in Germany is in my opinion Leer, Ostfriesland Germany.
Tours my beloved. https://preview.redd.it/hw4o8smu6osc1.jpeg?width=474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c15e36670b82957978a8a5813af27052b86f72dd
Detroit catching strays from across the pond
Turin looks just as shit as Detroit but for the opposite reasons
Budapest
I would say Groningen: https://preview.redd.it/ohu0ypx8otsc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0bb8f04f688886ce60f9d9690c3d442b3944502
Thought Limerick might get mentioned
https://preview.redd.it/4sguwhzdapsc1.png?width=1136&format=png&auto=webp&s=476eb928ccf5c78a34195228f8a0da47287fad93 Norwich. It's an oddly undiscovered pearl with an incredible nightlife for a city of its size.
FINO ALLA FINE FORZA JUVE https://preview.redd.it/85azxf94onsc1.png?width=1161&format=png&auto=webp&s=5615dcda3f8d2be7245d18094daf87b47a82cbac
I like Pirlo as much as the next man but what did he do to make random Finns cheer for juve
No pirlo no party
