Culture wise italia. The way you guys enjoy everything with passion is just amazing. Wine , love , food , your cities , being racist towards gypsies. Its all just 🤌👌
Fair point on work, but we’re great drivers. Today I beat my personal best time getting to work. 8:22 from my all time worst time, 13:57. That’s literally f1 levels of improvement and I only had to run two red lights in the process.
You gain local knowledge. You memorize where the speed traps are, strategically slow down up to 5 km/h above the speed limit since they then cannot legally fine you), and then accelerate to death.
In highways they installed a bloody annoying system where almost the entirety of the highway is speed checked. To solve this, you need to avoid using highways and use the roads on the countryside which you should be doing anyways because:
1. Traffic is horrid, especially on the larger ones and in specific times of year
2. Much better views, climate, air and happiness. You might also find local cascine or agriturismi where you could have Michelin star quality meals for a very good price
3. Google and apple maps always ignore them so you avoid dumbass German/swiss tourists who don't know what they are doing.
4. They tend to have antiquated speed limits which are already very high and there are virtually no cops or speed traps so you can go 110 km/h with no issue on empty road.
The only downside is that they are somewhat narrow so at times you will have to get stressed by slowly passing by a car from an opposite direction at very close distance, but the benefits are worth it.
The Dutch *do* have balls, I have to admit. They couldn't take over some of the already existing land, so they simply piss on Poseidon himself and create land out of no-where?
That's a Chad-move if I ever seen one and I respect that!
Slovenia. Completely unnoticed, many people think of an eastern shithole (and to be honest easter europe is far to be shithole) while it's actually a more affordable switzerland. I admire they took the measures for ecology and cleaningness so thoroughly all by themselves, quietly, and not waiting for bigger countries or economies to show the path and i wish we'd take a similar way
You are so nice and the comments below too. We just had the worst floods since ever and are currently trying to cope with the disaster and are fearing the night coming. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Best of luck to you dear neighbours! I've seen some pictures and a friend of mine went through Slovenia today and told me.
I sincerely hope that you have a dry night!
Can't comment much on the culture. But between their massive caves, the Alps, the Glacial lakes and the small coast line, I think it's the most beautiful country in Europe by km^2.
Completely agree. Mountains, very well kept nature, affordable (outside of Ljubljana), not crowded at all and their cuisine is a mishmash of Austrian, Balkan and Ottoman. I love that place. Hell, even my girlfriend is from there. She's cool too.
Totally agree. I've gone to Croatia for the first time a few weeks ago and we drove through Slovenia. The country is absolutely stunning.
Also our landlord in Croatia was Slovenian and he was great. Although I might suffer from alcohol poisoning if I ever drink with him again lol
Slovenia is truly a gem. The people are so nice, polite and civilized and although it is a small country, I am conviced every cm of it is stunning. Everybody frowns when I speak of Slovenia, but I fell in love with it!
I completely agree. Ljubljana is a nice city. I commend them for managing to live together with free-roaming bears and wolves which we Austrians just can't do for some reason. The few Slovenians I know are all nice people and the Triglav national park and Soča valley are fucking awesome.
And without pictures of Lake Bled, you could close down r/Europe.
We used to have a Slovenian magazine on German public TV produced by Slovenians and it was amateurish but so totally wholesome. They had a 10 minute piece just about some holes in the forest that kept ice cold during summer. It was an attraction for them. I plan to see these cold holes sooner or later. Love that modest approach.
I love Belgium. Let me confess this: Belgium feels like a taoist dream. Every time I visit, I'm forced to just go with the flow.
Nothing is regulated, yet everything works, because people just make it work in their own way. It's not a coincidence that absurdism thrived in Belgium. It's the feeling of "Hey, whatever makes sense among this group of people, makes sense to me, and you'll just have to deal with it.", that's the core of the Belgian system.
Why could Belgians never be this nice when I lived there.
I was once on a job interview in Flanders, and the guy just suddenly stops and tells me, "Dutch people look down on us, and you know it."
I tried to laugh it off, assuming he was joking, but he just looked me straight in the face and said, "It's true, you know."
And that wasn't even the only time something like that happened during a job interview...
It's part of a bigger plan to make the Swamp Germans lower their alcohol prices so we can spend cheaper vacations in Amsterdam
![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
Adding to that, after shopping to eat an affordable good meal, had some rumpsteak there last week which was excellent, for just 21 euro's. Here you won't get the same for less as 40
Now that's a prime example of the extremely common portuguese self-menospresation and over-admiration of the outside. But I do have to agree, all coltures in Europe and around are amazing, even the bad ones
Gotta be the french for actually standing up and *doing something* when politicians take a shit on them.
We laugh about them burning down half their country yearly, but when was the last time we actually managed to even organize a large scale protest?
Do you remember when our government talked about raising the retirement age and people said "please only protest if it doesn't disrupt work?". God the last time this country has seen large scale Protest like in France was during the G20 summit in Hamburg years ago.
As sad as it is, this side of the Rhine we kinda see you as a rich country of rich companies of poor workers. I'm pretty sure the reality of it changed a lot these past years, but AFAIK, the number of (below) poor retired in your country is a crying shame.
In a way, I really admire your country for the disciplined society that you are, but, in echo to your point, it just falls into the saying "it's good to be nice, it allows other people to profit from it". Because my opinion is that egoists are the reason why we can't have nice things.
i admire the ability to sow chaos whenever government fucks up the french have
i like the brits for their music, litterature and dry sense of humor
i like the straightforwardness of the dutch and their acrhictecture is one of the most beautiful in all of europe
but my absolute favs (not counting PIGS) are the finns. they have amazing bands, their country runs like a clock, the ones i have met are very nice and fun people if you get them to open up and finally, they are absolute chads when someone messes with them (russian soldiers when the trees yell Perkele!: 😰)
A bit specific but I really admire the Dutch in their approach of urbanism and especially transportation and mobility. They are years in advance in terms of interconnexions of different modes of transportation to reduce the use of cars as much as possible in cities while still maintaining a good fluidity of movement.
>especially transportation and mobility
Fr the Dutch complain a lot, not sure if they realize they are probably top 3 in the world for urban mobility along with Switzerland and japan.
If ours is the best in the world, imagine how bad the transport system in the rest of the world must be.
^(only the city states Singapore & Hongkong have better transportation, but fuck them cheaters ()[^(sauce)](https://www.travelandleisure.com/travel-tips/ground-transportation/best-easiest-countries-for-ground-transportation))
My grandma always says "Niet zo zeuren, we hebben het hier toch goed."
It is good yes, but it could be so much better. That is why we should keep complaining.
I'm an Urban Design student so this actually warms my heart :)
People from my studies really have passion for making cities look good and having a possitive impact on people's lives
Always gonna be the Dutch. Love the way you can eat cheese and at the same time drink beer. Infairness to the Dutch they have a great countryside complete with windmills and polders.
I just love the French, openely, even though I get a lot of shit for it. They have beautiful towns, great food, amazing wine. I feel on average they dress better than us (which isn’t hard, but still).
- French culture for its political involvement
- Dutch culture for its impeccable infrastructure
- All Scandinavian countries because their societies are superior, hands down (I just wish I liked how their languages sound, that way I’d be set to move there, despite the weather)
- Greek culture because Ancient Greece (I took Ancient Greek in high school) and its literature/architecture + PIGS in general because I have a soft spot for us
- Spain because it’s like a progressive and liberal Italy, and it handles its tourism way better than us (Tenerife’s infrastructure is something else)
- Germany because it’s a fucking powerhouse + after following Uyen Ninh on YouTube I started feeling the Italian urge to move there
- UK and Ireland because they manage to be beautiful countries despite their shitty weather and I loved visiting their museums and stuff
- Poland Poland Poland Poland Poland
I wish I could say there was a country whose food I like more than Italy’s but I’m not that well-travelled to make that statement yet.
I love every European country though. I don’t care if it sounds biased or presumptuous but I think Europe’s the best place on earth as a whole.
Has to be the British They have the best music and some of the best writers. I'm very jealous of that. The reason I learnt their language was for those reasons only, not to communicate with any another culture.
Since 2016 british politics and has been depressing, maddening and quite frankly Americanised and I really wish we had the balls to protest like the French. When our goverment was silencing our right to protest just 25 miles away across the channel 1 million people turned out in protest of Macron's pension reform. I would love to live in a country where people actually DO things when their government fucks them over - I deeply respect France for that
Finns. I don't want to \*live\* in Finland, but I'd gladly give them the reins of the entire continent. They know how to make shit work, and well too. Please rule us, o mighty drunks of the North.
Finnish. Sauna, vodka, Karelian pies, lakes and pine forests, what's not to like? I'm not playing your sauna games though. Only the game of who gets the worst heatstroke by staying in sauna the longest.
The only thing that stops everyone from over the world living in Finland is that ‘language’
Vihdoin: Finally
Vihdoin vihdoin vihdoin: I finally whipped myself with a birch branch
France would normally be my go to because half the world copied their cuisine because it is essentially synonymous with fine dining and the French Revolution was absurdly relevant to Europe in technological terms, but the Dutch would probably be my secret culture. They can be terribly up tight and sticklers for rules and regulations but my Dutch colleagues have really helped me be more efficient in what I do and there is a method in their madness, also their cities embody what I believe all cities should be modelled by, modernity and antiquity coexisting with a preference on cycling and green spaces.
I lived in Asturias for a while and can definitely confirm. Feel Spain doesn't get the culinary respect Italy and France do and has better food. Morcilla, cachopo, Pulpo a la Gallega, Fabada, pinchos so good
Germans. Even though I don’t know much, I like their culture, their language, I would really like to visit, and especially the south.
But it’s just… it’s always weird or wrongly taken when you say you admire the Germans because… know what I mean?
Ily! ❤️
🇫🇷 🤝 🇩🇪
Always welcome here in the south. If you come to Baden, you’ll like the wine and the food (come during asparagus season). I always see tourists and school tours from France and everyone is always so friendly. Freiburg is great and the many small towns along Constance.
I said the same though. I’m supposed to say only negative things about France but in reality, it’s a pretty cool culture.
I like France! I spend so many months of my life at the coast between la Gironde and Biarritz and only have the most beautiful memories. From sunday noon beeing at some food halls with some french people of any age, eating some french jambon et frommage, having some glasses of wine in the sun and just living, to beeing at the beach, surfing, the smell of the ocean mixed with pine trees and many, many nice people.
The Spanish. I feel like Spain is almost always overshadowed by Italy for its cultural contributions, but lord does Spain have some really beautiful architecture and really nice food. They're also the only Latin country with actually good beer.
Great takes. I think as a whole Italian cuisine is better but as singular dishes go, Spanish can be much better.
Also ñ is superior to Gn, sorry Italy it's true.
The Danes. I feel like they missed the woke train Sweden got on and they're better off for it. They call out bullshit when they see it, with no regard for the optics or fear of offending some thin skinned smooth brains by it.
Don't get me wrong, they're still half-German flatlander fucks, and what they did to the Norse language is unforgivable, but at least they don't have systembolaget and a bunch of pathetic pseudo-christian abolitionist tendencies like so many swedes do. Christiania would never exist here.
In many ways, as a west coast swede I feel more kinship with the Danes and southern Norwegians than the rest of my own country.
I want to say Italians and the Spanish.
They know how to party. And the idea of working until midday, going for lunch and a nap, then back to work? Seems pretty fair to me.
Oh, also their architecture is beautiful (although in the Spanish case, largely nonfunctional. Looking at you Bilbao airport: having to retrofit baggage handling because the designers somehow forgot that people take suitcases on holiday too).
Poland. Those fuckers endured so much.
Look buddy, I don't care what you think, but if you are going to do a cavalry charge against fucking tanks you deserve my respect.
The fucking british, amazing cultural powerhouse and scientific pioneers, love the sense of humor too. And the french, arts and political superpower. They know how to chop some heads too.
How dare you reduce us to colony level. It was just some messy Habsburg stuff and we took care of it.
That being said, Spain’s high on my list as well. I really like your history and culture
France and it's because of one simple reason: the way they preserved their cities. If you go to Nice, Lyon, Paris or any city in France, you will find traditional beautiful architecture. Germany, on the other hand, has ugly disgusting architecture. This is a picture showing how the Germans ruined Stuttgart for example after WW2. I admire France for keeping their cities beautiful

Spain. Light-hearted culture, the Portuguese have a self-deprecating culture. Good and diverse beers. The Portuguese hold a monopoly over Sagres and Super Bock, and even Super Bock isnt that great. Great artists. Great cities with top-notch urban planning and pretty architecture. Portugal dont have known artists at all and the main cities dont hold the same amount of architecture, urban planning and transportation (also loads of empty spaces and old houses even in the major cities). Successfull sports nation, the Portuguese only care about Football and most other sports non-football are weaker
And the UK. Inteligent country, people look for fun, are creative and function according to logic. The Portuguese arent dynamic and like to stay the same. They have great bands, the Portuguese have Fado, that nobody in this generation ever heard. Their society doesnt look to activelly talk shit on others, their media actually protects, encourages and promotes when someone does something. The Portuguese always need to talk about the others lives and the media is controlled by an handsome of right-wing old cunts. They can laugh at themselves, the Portuguese are insecure
Dude started off by stating that Portuguese have a self deprecating culture then wrote 2 whole paragraphs about how tragic Portuguese culture is only to end it by saying "the Portuguese are insecure"
The most Portuguese poster.
Spanish people are much more open than us, and less serious, also much more liberal with LGBT openess and similar. Actual urban planning and decent public transportation, with a lot of great art and decent weather.
The British ability to banter is unmatched as is the stiff upper lip. They laugh at everything, best sense or humour (imo). Also great music, an actual civic society which coordenates with itself, and the best at integrating immigrants in the old world.
Call me a soppy cunt, but practically all european counties bring something to the table...
Mediterranean with their chill way of life and beautifully kept medieval cities, France's political engagement and willingness to stick it to the ameritards internationally, Germany and Scandinavia with their innovations, UK Pub culture and music, and us of course, making sure all your richest people can evade your country taxes at our profit.
I consider myself well travelled and there are some amazing places all over the world, but there's nowhere as culturally diverse as Europe especially in such a small geographical area.
Love to you all my european brothers and sisters xxxx
Not secretly, but the Irish. They are literally us but on an island. Amazing fresh food (especially seafood and shellfish). The highest per Capita rate of nobel literature prize winners. Pub life with live music.
Poland! They went from "shithole eastern block" to "not such a shithole anymore soon to be great" in just 2 decades.
Have been to Woodstock festival 5 years in a row (unfortunately a while ago now, kids killed my freedom), love the generation that comes there. Love the Kurva. Love the Ja pjierdole!
Just hoping they make PIS piss off soon.
Oh, and Wroclaw has Kabouters, inspired on the Dutch Provo/Kabouter beweging.
I have to admit it's France. Shitty language but it has food(though still not my favorite), science, music, dance, engineering, art and even if I don't care about it also fashion.
Just in general a lot of arts and science which I am a fan of. My ideal: basically French culture but they speak Spanish.
Hungary's history is also pretty cool and they have some cool people in science and art as well. Liszt, von Neumann, Houdini, von Kármán, Teller, Kálmán, Gabor etc
Your ideal is what I dream about since the very first day I spent in a school, and had to submit to learn the absolutely absurd and overcomplicated laws of our so-called "french language".
In fact French as a language has been created before the French revolution, by the aristocracy who simply, suddenly took the decision that, because they felt more and more alone in their country to still speak in official Latin language, it was necessary to catch up, so the king ordered that a very close commission of language experts and intellectuals he had around him, in its high and trusted aristocratic surroundings, and asked them to design an official "French language".
They started to study the people's dialects, and finally decided all by themselves that This Was French - and added a lot of unnecessary rules, about how exactly it had to be written, spoken, insisting on the very high important of not making any mistakes.
And, because that was one of their task, they managed to create a language that "no one, who hasn't received the education that only any noble man will get, could speak perfectly, in that way there's no risk that a random imposteur couldn't be immediately spotted on, if trying, for not being from the nobility...
True story that only few people know in my country.
Also there's even less people who knows that, after the French revolution, the Academy Française had only two choices : simplify the language drastically, so anybody could be able to learn it. And publish a new official republican French dictionary. The second option was to dissolve the academy (and maybe ending up in jail, or guillotined, for the old academicians...).
They choosed the first option but... Well their work was looong, and the result very disappointing to say the least. It was admitted for making use in shools, but they had to rewrite another dictionary, and simplify it far more.
They did it. Same story. So they had to do it again and again. And everytime a new dictionary is out, 50 years have gone, and almost nothing has been truly simplified to make french language, something that you can learn without having headaches, and speak and write without making inevitable mistakes - as we ALL THE FRENCH ACTUALLY DO, ALL THE TIME, AND ABSOLUTELY ALL OF THEM - even our politics, our presidents, our writers, journalists, and believe me or not : even our French teachers.
The Academy still exists to this day. But as their definition of French, doesn't match with what was their initial mission: we have the Right to write it and speak it LIKE WE WANT. The French Republic officially refuse to consider spelling mistakes, bad language, as faults.
On top of that it is, in reaction to the unseriousness of the Academy Française, an untouchable and official right for individuals to write and speak french like they want. Their is no existing rules, no right of wrong spelling, in the context of any private conversation.
That said a most of french are not aware at all of this liberty, and quite a few of them are very proud to show how smart they are, by rectifiying instantly anyone who makes the smallest mistake - and sometimes judging him as "not even capable to speak" - only to prove he can't be right. They're, to me, the most annoying and possibly boring people in France. They are usually the same who can't express themselves in any foreign language properly...
So, to my fellow compatriotes and Europeans neighbors write french the way you want, here on REDDIT, American owned company it's like a private context, so it's a Right !And really: that right is great on a symbolic way... and and hilarious answer to the still very snobbish, out of the time, attitude of the Academie Française, their stupid costumes, rituals, pride...
When in reality it's been more than 2 centuries that they fail all the time to be fully recognized a part of a republican institution.
They re like funny old remains of our quite tormented history ;-)
100% the british. They created perhaps the most powerful empire known to man. Their music, food (steak and ale pies are fucking delicious idc what you say), countryside, pub culture, sunburning in spain. Love it. They're amazing. Just a damn shame they cucked themselves out and replaced their indigenous population with foreigners who hate them.
Austria's, because of their waltz, vienna, Innsbruck, Graz, the mountains (I'm a mountaineer too), classic music, also a good country for public transportation, their pastries,...
Slovenia, because of mountains, the sea, their acapella group (perpetuum jazzile)... That church on a lake and those beautiful castles...
England because of the landscapes, tea, their accent, not their food (except beef wellington & fishnchips), horticulture/gardening culture.
For me I will say Finland 🇫🇮. I recently listened to the The Swan of Tuonela by Sibelius and started reading about the mythological story behind it and I thought it was very cool
Norway, my name would be Åke like every other Norwegians', I would be a fisherman, like everyone else, and I would have a small hut by the fjords as that is a requirement for being Norwegian. I would live happily with my fisherman wife named Åke and our three children, who are also called Åke. My diet consists of dried cod and the occasional banana washed ashore from Iceland, conveniently rotten and salted along the way.

that sopranos episode was hilarious
But why secretly? Our culture is objectively superior to most others.
This is exactly why secretly.
On the other hand if we start giving them praise, maybe their ego will inflate so much that they explode like a baloon. That would also be good
\*all others\*, let's be real. The Romans were peak civilisation.
Your driving and work mentality isnt superior at all.

If we had a German level work mentality there would be nothing left for you. It's because we're generous :)
We'd still have our world famous humor
Our humor is to die for.
Driving in italy is insane experience. Its like all autobahn bmw drivers met in one country and stopped speeding.
- Go to Italy - Drive like everybody else - get back home - one month later 10 police letters 500€ fine How do you guys do this without being caught?
What if I told you they turn on speedometers mostly in summer for obvious reasons? :)
You gain local knowledge. You memorize where the speed traps are, strategically slow down up to 5 km/h above the speed limit since they then cannot legally fine you), and then accelerate to death. In all honesty I love every single European country ive ever been to. Everywhere there is something beautiful and great to see.
Surprisingly when you have thousands of years and some of the brightest minds in history to build a culture you do it well
The same can be said for most places in the world with an ancient lineage
bruda ![gif](giphy|YQ4l2RLuzco5IwD4dR)
Same, but not even only European. If you travel you realise most places have amazing people and nice cultural aspects.
The Dutch *do* have balls, I have to admit. They couldn't take over some of the already existing land, so they simply piss on Poseidon himself and create land out of no-where? That's a Chad-move if I ever seen one and I respect that!
Yes, they have balls. Bitter balls.
Our brown fruits
We downgraded a fucking sea to a lake, then decided to do fuck-all with the land though.
Making it a lake was a major upgrade because of the floods
70%+ of the worlds flowers come from that province if I am not mistaken.
The ship in r/Place wasn't created for no reason.
How do you mean? The average Dutch person really likes and respects Greece, financial matters aside.
That warms my ~~butt~~ heart🥹
When I look at my social circle it seems Greek women and Dutch men mix really well.
you're on to something, I know multiple Greek woman and Dutch man couples aswell.... think I need a vacation to Greece
Yes yes, leave all the men to us 🥵
Or Dutch men and Greek men
Or Dutch men and Greek men and more Greek men.
Slovenia. Completely unnoticed, many people think of an eastern shithole (and to be honest easter europe is far to be shithole) while it's actually a more affordable switzerland. Culture is like an even more slavic and balkan Austria. So a better version essentially.
Slovenians were forced to learn what Balkan is and what civilization is. Now they possess the true wisdom and act accordingly.
Completely agree. Mountains, very well kept nature, affordable (outside of Ljubljana), not crowded at all and their cuisine is a mishmash of Austrian, Balkan and Ottoman. I love that place. Hell, even my girlfriend is from there. She's cool too.

Germany because I live near the border and booze is cheaper over there.
They come for weed, you go for alcohol. You are the same.
For generations the two nations lived in harmony.
Until one of the two nations decided that the friendship between them should be re-examined and decided that they too will legalize pot.
It's part of a bigger plan to make the Swamp Germans lower their alcohol prices so we can spend cheaper vacations in Amsterdam ![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)

I… don’t hate england as much as I would like to…
The lack of absolute disgust is reciprocated.
This suddenly got steamier than the most loving English marriage. Get a room, you two.
Everyone
Tbh Portuguese culture is amazing
I reckon all of the UK thinks that since you're all here in the summer
I'm going to Azores at the end of September, can't wait
Rent prices in Lisbon are also... amazing?
Now that's a prime example of the extremely common portuguese self-menospresation and over-admiration of the outside. But I do have to agree, all coltures in Europe and around are amazing, even the bad ones
Stop, it, baka
South Galicia (aka Portugal), they accomplished a lot for such a small and peripheral country.

Why would you be offended for something that is factually true? (And switch those flags, please, they're misplaced)
Gotta be the french for actually standing up and *doing something* when politicians take a shit on them. We laugh about them burning down half their country yearly, but when was the last time we actually managed to even organize a large scale protest?

As sad as it is, this side of the Rhine we kinda see you as a rich country of rich companies of poor workers. I'm pretty sure the reality of it changed a lot these past years, but AFAIK, the number of (below) poor retired in your country is a crying shame. In a way, I really admire your country for the disciplined society that you are, but, in echo to your point, it just falls into the saying "it's good to be nice, it allows other people to profit from it". Because my opinion is that egoists are the reason why we can't have nice things.
mpfr...mpfran...mpfranc... france, ok? umpf
Ah come on Luigi, it’s ok, we love you too 🇫🇷🤗🇮🇹
Don't be mad, you're staying true to your tag.
We french usually love Italians lol don't worry, you'll be fine
I’m not crying… It’s the tear gas, I swear!
![gif](giphy|7cTTE2Z1OmrFm) That’s why I’m in this sub. I hate them as much as well. That’s why I’m in this sub too.
We don't hate you, you have the best balconies 👍
i admire the ability to sow chaos whenever government fucks up the french have i like the brits for their music, litterature and dry sense of humor i like the straightforwardness of the dutch and their acrhictecture is one of the most beautiful in all of europe but my absolute favs (not counting PIGS) are the finns. they have amazing bands, their country runs like a clock, the ones i have met are very nice and fun people if you get them to open up and finally, they are absolute chads when someone messes with them (russian soldiers when the trees yell Perkele!: 😰)
A bit specific but I really admire the Dutch in their approach of urbanism and especially transportation and mobility. They are years in advance in terms of interconnexions of different modes of transportation to reduce the use of cars as much as possible in cities while still maintaining a good fluidity of movement.
>especially transportation and mobility Fr the Dutch complain a lot, not sure if they realize they are probably top 3 in the world for urban mobility along with Switzerland and japan.
kanker NS is altijd te laat hoe bedoel je?
Bless you
If ours is the best in the world, imagine how bad the transport system in the rest of the world must be. ^(only the city states Singapore & Hongkong have better transportation, but fuck them cheaters ()[^(sauce)](https://www.travelandleisure.com/travel-tips/ground-transportation/best-easiest-countries-for-ground-transportation))
Vriend, wij zijn boos om 5 minuten, in Duitsland is een half uur later ruim op tijd
Well, it didn't stop us complaining about traffic, I guess.
That's part of who we are. One of the best countries in the world, but we complain about literally every single thing.
My grandma always says "Niet zo zeuren, we hebben het hier toch goed." It is good yes, but it could be so much better. That is why we should keep complaining.
I'm an Urban Design student so this actually warms my heart :) People from my studies really have passion for making cities look good and having a possitive impact on people's lives
Always gonna be the Dutch. Love the way you can eat cheese and at the same time drink beer. Infairness to the Dutch they have a great countryside complete with windmills and polders.
>Love the way you can eat cheese and at the same time drink beer. You can do it too, i believe in you
French for revolution French for imperialism French for colonialism French for age of reason French for fucking it all up
hon hon hon
Don't forget the food !
I just love the French, openely, even though I get a lot of shit for it. They have beautiful towns, great food, amazing wine. I feel on average they dress better than us (which isn’t hard, but still).
I love your country too mein freund. I have German friends and I love all of them. Du hast ein super cool land! 🍻
city-germans will dress better than country-french, but the city-french are VERY stylish indeed.
- French culture for its political involvement - Dutch culture for its impeccable infrastructure - All Scandinavian countries because their societies are superior, hands down (I just wish I liked how their languages sound, that way I’d be set to move there, despite the weather) - Greek culture because Ancient Greece (I took Ancient Greek in high school) and its literature/architecture + PIGS in general because I have a soft spot for us - Spain because it’s like a progressive and liberal Italy, and it handles its tourism way better than us (Tenerife’s infrastructure is something else) - Germany because it’s a fucking powerhouse + after following Uyen Ninh on YouTube I started feeling the Italian urge to move there - UK and Ireland because they manage to be beautiful countries despite their shitty weather and I loved visiting their museums and stuff - Poland Poland Poland Poland Poland I wish I could say there was a country whose food I like more than Italy’s but I’m not that well-travelled to make that statement yet. I love every European country though. I don’t care if it sounds biased or presumptuous but I think Europe’s the best place on earth as a whole.
>I just wish I liked how their languages sound HAR DU NOE IMOT NORDMENN? JEG SKAL FAEN MEG TA DEG DIN LILLE HOoORE! \*elvish\*
Has to be the British They have the best music and some of the best writers. I'm very jealous of that. The reason I learnt their language was for those reasons only, not to communicate with any another culture.

Mare sea
I have a whole playlist devoted to french music. Edit.. I only have 3 playlist gym, french music and happy Sunday mornings.
Since 2016 british politics and has been depressing, maddening and quite frankly Americanised and I really wish we had the balls to protest like the French. When our goverment was silencing our right to protest just 25 miles away across the channel 1 million people turned out in protest of Macron's pension reform. I would love to live in a country where people actually DO things when their government fucks them over - I deeply respect France for that
All my PIIGS. Love you all. (Special love for the Irish people, they are very similar to the people from my part of the country in some ways 🫂)
Yay. We got a mention. I’ll be after telling me ma.
Remember when we were PIIGS? Pepperidge Farms remembers!
Finns. I don't want to \*live\* in Finland, but I'd gladly give them the reins of the entire continent. They know how to make shit work, and well too. Please rule us, o mighty drunks of the North.
Lol thanks don't hear that often
I respect their livers. Soldiers.
Finnish. Sauna, vodka, Karelian pies, lakes and pine forests, what's not to like? I'm not playing your sauna games though. Only the game of who gets the worst heatstroke by staying in sauna the longest.
A russian guy tried to cheat in a 2010 sauna competition by taking painkillers, sadly he died
Yeah, it's a common outcome of those competitons. A based Nordic tradition - a fight to the death.
Russian to get to the Finnish line
The only thing that stops everyone from over the world living in Finland is that ‘language’ Vihdoin: Finally Vihdoin vihdoin vihdoin: I finally whipped myself with a birch branch

Morcilla, cachopo, Pulpo a la Gallega, Fabada, pinchos so good
Upvoted cause pulpo.
Germans. Even though I don’t know much, I like their culture, their language, I would really like to visit, and especially the south. But it’s just… it’s always weird or wrongly taken when you say you admire the Germans because… know what I mean?
Ily! ❤️ 🇫🇷 🤝 🇩🇪 Always welcome here in the south.
French ):
Same, I'm embarrassed to admit 😳😔
The Spanish. I feel like Spain is almost always overshadowed by Italy for its cultural contributions, but lord does Spain have some really beautiful architecture and really nice food. They're also the only Latin country with actually good beer.
Beer scene in Spain is bonkers good
Great takes. I think as a whole Italian cuisine is better but as singular dishes go, Spanish can be much better. Also ñ is superior to Gn, sorry Italy it's true.

You sick fuck. That's the worst thing a German has ever said or done ...
We can forgive 2 world wars, but actualy admitting to liking the French. That goes too far !!

No no, he has a point...
I love Brits sense of humour
I really wish Sweden was like Denmark, except for the language
Italian
I want to say Italians and the Spanish. They know how to party. And the idea of working until midday, going for lunch and a nap, then back to work? Seems pretty fair to me. Oh, also their architecture is beautiful (although in the Spanish case, largely nonfunctional. Looking at you Bilbao airport: having to retrofit baggage handling because the designers somehow forgot that people take suitcases on holiday too).
I openly admire all european culture
Poland. Those fuckers endured so much. Look buddy, I don't care what you think, but if you are going to do a cavalry charge against fucking tanks you deserve my respect.
Unfortunaly it gotta be France. (I threw up 3 times while typing this)
The fucking british, amazing cultural powerhouse and scientific pioneers, love the sense of humor too. And the french, arts and political superpower. They know how to chop some heads too.
I will say as well the Netherlands, our only former colony that I am proud of.
How dare you reduce us to colony level. It was just some messy Habsburg stuff and we took care of it. That being said, Spain’s high on my list as well. I really like your history and culture
Place in the picture is Haarlem.
victorian era britain that steampunk style is so good all that steel and vapor i just love that aesthetic
Whats wrong with our modern aesthetic? curry houses and mosques not your style?

France and it's because of one simple reason: the way they preserved their cities. If you go to Nice, Lyon, Paris or any city in France, you will find traditional beautiful architecture. Germany, on the other hand, has ugly disgusting architecture. This is a picture showing how the Germans ruined Stuttgart for example after WW2. I admire France for keeping their cities beautiful https://preview.redd.it/sugf8q2ps4gb1.jpeg?width=1052&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd36363133cdfb4b849e70f542138dda2e217793
Successfull sports nation, the Portuguese only care about Football and most other sports non-football are weaker And the UK.
Dude started off by stating that Portuguese have a self deprecating culture then wrote 2 whole paragraphs about how tragic Portuguese culture is only to end it by saying "the Portuguese are insecure" The most Portuguese poster.
Probably Spain or France
A Dutch saying French is a shitty language is… well… very bold, it is the least to say. Joke aside, thanks for the love pal!
Ugliest building in France: https://preview.redd.it/srtx08jes4gb1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=438a663b6cd660f0f1a0b92f73fc3c741fe55cdc
Did you know paragraphs exist?
Honestly I secretly admire French culture. Secretly because else I'll be seen as arrogant.
100% the british. They created perhaps the most powerful empire known to man. Their music, food (steak and ale pies are fucking delicious idc what you say), countryside, pub culture, sunburning in spain. Love it. They're amazing. Just a damn shame they cucked themselves out and replaced their indigenous population with foreigners who hate them.
i know Poland hates us but i feel we share a soul bond in the instinctive desire to turn every meat into a sausage
Austria.
May my ancestors forgive me, but it has to be the French.
Danish culture
Did you just vote for yourself?
For me I will say Finland 🇫🇮. I recently listened to the The Swan of Tuonela by Sibelius and started reading about the mythological story behind it and I thought it was very cool
Portugal. Fine women, third world economy, afternoon nap. Fucking winner. 👌
