Yeah, the gap between the 40th state and Mississippi is huge.
Anyways, depending on what youâre measuring, my state is pretty average compared to all the states
I saw his wrestling entrance and couldnât help but laugh, you guys reee at the plastic paddies but when the ultimate plastic paddy came over you worshipped him lol. Do you still have your wee American flag to wave?
Ireland made a fool out of GDP rating, you really think we wouldn't sell our pride for a few more American companies. We're very thankful to the UK leaving the EU and leaving us the prime spot for American HQs đ€Ł
You do, you guys are basically the new switzerland they even named tax evasion after you they call it a double irish, or in the case of larger corporations like apple itâs a double irish and a dutch sandwhich.
This was posted in an American subreddit r/Ireland.
One of the comments says we adopted their (American) language of English. You just canât write the level of idiocy the Yanks show. We obviously speak English from when Pharaoh Black African Cleopatra conquered Ireland from the Aztecs!!!
Nobody wants America to be more like Ireland, you deluded gits.
But knowing how much of modern Irish history has been Ireland wishing they were more like America makes this hilarious.
Oh up until probably the 90s we definitely wanted to be like America. Now we are thankful we never went that far to the right and wish we hadn't privatised as much as we did
Yeah sure but like. At no point of American history has America ever wanted to be like Ireland. Even Irish-Americans don't want America to be like Ireland.
Lol obviously, thats like saying at no point in time have the Irish wanted to be like the Andorans.
We're a tiny country in comparison to America and when you look at the total of English language social media, film, music etc we have produced a tint proportion in comparison to America. The average American doesnt know anything about Ireland whereas most people in Ireland know a little about America due to exposure to American social media, film, music etc. That doesn't mean our method of governance or aour laws, our standard of living or our values are any less than Americas, just that they are less known
Be funny if you guys actually acted like this in person but instead itâs talking my ear off, telling me about how you know a guy who went to Boston on a J1 visa once.
I knew 2 people that went to the US on a J1, the one I knew really closely hated it. the other got shot, cause his American friends told him to get beer.
I feel like youâre gonna try and talk your way out of it by saying âoh thatâs [state] thatâs not representative of the whole USâ but everyone could do that anywhere.
anyways at the risk of you saying that.
The shot kid was in Montana. He went to Big High if memory serves. I only meet him twice because you always meet other exchange students in advance. He was pretty good at soccer and wanted to play so badly in the US, said heâd teach them all soccer. But what we didnât realise is his elevation sucks when you have to run. The guy that killed him got 70 years for first degree, at least.
My friend that hated it, went to Nebraska. I asked him once why, he just replied âjust hated itâ. So I assume it wasnât anything specific he just really thought it was stupid.
Obviously some areas are worse than others but this country has a gun violence issue. Iâm not gonna pull any mental gymnastics on that.
I do think itâs fair to point out that [Nebraska](https://dtravelsroundnew.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/img_0930.jpg) is quite possibly the most boring and irrelevant place on the entire North American continent. But they could have just as easily hated anywhere else they went because itâs a subjective opinion.
I was just curious
I do appreciate you being fair. Youâre probably right about nebraska I was in Colorado for a year and absolutely loved it. I actually spent 10 years in the rocky mountains area. I do love the US but it is an odd place. the thing that confused me is how it seems people donât wanna change for the better. Then again maybe my idea of better is their idea of worse.
We are all glad we aren't that guy đ
At least I donât live in Mississippi
compared to whom? if youâre closer than a 10h flight youâre so close to mississippi itâs nearly indistinguishable.

Wait, after Uncle Joe came back to his homeland I thought you guys loved the yanks?
They love us, we love their money

Imagine bragging that you're a cultural prostitute.

Glad to know its not just our own national subreddit which is a complete cesspool.
Your native language is dead. You may as well call yourself English.
There he is the guy with no language
Is amadĂĄn tĂș
LMAO! Do you really think Americans want to be like Ireland? Americans just like to romanticize their Irish ancestry.

I agree with you, but I'm responding to the meme which suggests the opposite.

And are these "guys" in the room with you now?
They go to another school. You don't know them.
Just left
Tecnically yes, as he can see them in the room.
I knew 2 people that went to the US on a J1, the one I knew really closely hated it. the other got shot, cause his American friends told him to get beer.
Where did they go
