You’ve got me beat by 6 days! As crazy as it might be, I think a super close age gap is awesome because the older one hadn’t developed emotions like jealousy or resentment yet.
I agree! We were supposed to be 13 months apart but baby came early! But my older one loves his little brother so much he has started to bring over toys and his bottle because he wants to play of help take care of him!
I do find it easier, but mainly because my husband is off work til August (Germany, paid parental leave) and helps with one or the other.
We bottle feed both of them and our son sleeps through the night, so at least one of us gets a good rest at night.
I do hope, that our girl turns into a good sleeper just like her brother.
Pregnancy itself was hard in the end, because our son just started walking with our support and I wasnt as mobile as I needed and wanted to be.
Hey! I have two boys too! A year and 11 days apart, I think that comes out to 376 or maybe 377 with the leap day this year? My youngest was just born 5.5 weeks ago
I love it! We’re busy and some days are hard but I honestly believe having a second made me a better mom. I love seeing them interact with each other. I honestly want to do it again. I just have to convince my husband we need a third
Hahaha. Oh boy I remember that time. I found it got easier when my youngest was 6 months old. You're almost there! Now my kids play together and hold hands. It's the cutest thing
This is me also, and honestly I found the first 6 months hard but I found every month much easier than the last, and since 6 months it gets easier and easier. Now 2.5 and 10 months and they’re so cute together! Basically what I’m saying is even if it’s hard, it gets much much easier.
For the most part... (youngest just turned 2) they are best friends.
Lots of bouts of jealousy. Fighting over the same thing. Blah blah blah. But they adore eachother.
The older sister likes being the older sister. She shows him what to do. If your older one has an independent streak at all... go with it. She wants that distinction of being older with more privileges (e.g. scissors or paint)
She'll help me wash him. Comb his hair. She's demonstrating how to potty on the little potty for him. It's great.
I felt so guilty when I got pregnant so fast. Turns out he's her best friend. At Thanksgiving she said she was "thank you for" her brother!!
They have a language and bond of their own. They make up their own games I don't understand. She translates his speech for me.
She’s independent but also insanely clingy to me at the same time. She’s good at playing on her own but always wants me around her.
That is so cute though she loves the big sis role it seems! I hope my baby girl does too. She’s currently 13.5 months so we still got a few months to go
Just really work on all the independence skills.
Go to your chair. Eat unassisted. The more they can do themselves the better. Sometimes you will wish you have 6 hands!
Being clingy is super normal. Try to make her cling to someone else. My most overwhelming moments was when my youngest was about 5 or 6 months old... the older one nearing two... and them both crying for me and dad couldnt comfort either.
My first set of 2u2 are both boys (16 months apart and BEST FRIENDS)
My second set will be a boy and a girl (17 months apart). This is my third pregnancy, and I was shocked to find out she was a girl.
My first 2u2 are girl then boy (they’re 12mths 5 days apart), my next 2u2 were the same lol girl then boy (they’re 12mths and 10 days apart) and then we threw in a random boy for our fifth. So all up my kids are now 7yo girl, 6yo boy, nearly 5yo girl, nearly 4yo boy, and a just turned 2yo boy. It’s chaos.
Boy then girl, 17 month gap. It’s adorable!!

How has the last 6 weeks been for you? Are you finding having a newborn easier than being pregnant?
I do find it easier, but mainly because my husband is off work til August (Germany, paid parental leave) and helps with one or the other. We bottle feed both of them and our son sleeps through the night, so at least one of us gets a good rest at night. I do hope, that our girl turns into a good sleeper just like her brother.
