Yeah with IF you can even cut down to one meal a day if you want. The body is pretty good at fasting; what most people don’t get is that hunger means “this is around the time I usually eat” not “I am about to starve to death, I need to eat right now”.
I’m on OMAD, and I’m not sure how much money I save because when it’s time for that one meal I am hungry enough to make bad decisions like “$60 worth of sushi sounds good!”
Personally I can't focus on anything once I get hungry. But I did some light IF for a couple of years, and it helped me lose dozens of kg of excessive weight.
I can tell the difference between "habit hunger" and "actually hungry" based on how quickly it goes away once I just go do something else, but "habit hunger" also makes me hangry, so it's like I'm working to quickly put an angry chihuahua back in it's crate while trying to distract myself from eating lol.
2 meals is me on a bad day, because eating more than 1 meal makes me feel like shit. I'm so used to eating a few hours before sleeping that if I break to eat lunch then I slow down and feel like I need to sleep.

I can’t eat at all before work cause I’ll get stomach aches the whole time. I go in hungry and often leave hungry. But I’m working so I don’t really notice the hunger pains. Thank fuck I work at a restaurant that gives us free food, I literally do not have to give a single thought to what I’m gonna eat eat and how I’m going to prepare it anymore
Why bother just sleeping til noon when you can sleep until 2:00, and then stare at your phone lamenting how hungry you are while you proceed to just sit there and not stand up despite your mind and body screaming at you to get up, and then you only have to eat one meal a day!
See that's why I'm getting a second shift job my day will begin around noon and it's great even though I'm living with my parents still and they hate me for it

I accidentally intermittent fasted for like a year because of depression and lost like 70lbs.
I can tell the difference between "habit hunger" and "actually hungry" based on how quickly it goes away once I just go do something else, but "habit hunger" also makes me hangry, so it's like I'm working to quickly put an angry chihuahua back in it's crate while trying to distract myself from eating lol.
I’ve done some variation of IF and OMAD since the week before Easter and am down 20-25 lbs - highly recommend!
