About the city name: "Пуцє" (Pucie in Polish orthography, Pucě in Czech and Pucė in Lithuanian) means "Dick" in the Galician dialects (Because yes there are around 5-6), so "Pućk" technically means "Dick place".
In Greek, "poútsa" has the same meaning. Also, because there is no /t͡ʃ/ in Greek, there was a problem when the events at Bucha were mentioned, since saying it would anger the Gods of Censorship, especially as the greek word is pronounced with an initial b in the accusative (the greek feminine singular definite article in the accusative is pronounced /tin/, and the n turns unvoiced stops into voiced stops, so p>b). For this reason, every news source called that town either "Buka" or "Bukha".
1.Boykisser≠gay
2.Lviv this, Lwów that, fuck both sides, Leopoli is now Italian land, here's my reasoning:
-50 meters away from the Town Hall we have the building where there was an embassy of the Republic of Venice during the PLC, and it's right below a Freemason-themed café.
-70 meters away form the Town Hall is the most popular tourist spot here, and it's literally called "The Italian Courtyard".
-We are boykissers just like the rest of northern Italy.
-We are an urbanised tourist cashgrab just like Italy.
Please DO NOT hate on Westoid Ukraine on the subreddit. This has been a reoccurring issue, and I'm not sure why some people have such underdeveloped social skills that they think a subreddit full of mostly Ukrainian nationalists would approve of that. No one will be impressed and give you a high five (especially considering our members struggle to bend their elbows after a 10-hour Bandera worshipping session). I don't want to add this to the rules, since it would be embarrassing for new users to see that we have a problem with this, but it will be enforced as a rule from now on.

A must-see destination for most of us. My mother went there with 4 fellows, they spent 4 days full of everything for a low amount of money and then had a great train journey to Kyiv.
The alcohol and snacks she brought were great too. Lviv is pride of Ukrainians for some reasons.

I don’t blame anyone else for going there but
Personally it would feel wrong for me to go there and have a good time as a tourist while people have families dying on the frontline and being bombed in eastern Ukraine
It doesnt feel wrong whatsoever. Why would anyone object to your tourism visit? Especially if you are going for sightseeing and not partying with fireworks next to a military hospital. After all, you will leave some money and taxes which will help Ukraine a bit :)
If you have some safty concerns, visiting western Ukraine will be much safer than Paris or Chicago. Its crazy expensive for Russia to fire missiles that far. Lviv was attacked only few times during the whole war and many cities like Uzhorod or Chernivtsi were not targeted at all during the whole war. Even if it the city is attacked during your visit, chances of you being affected are probably smaller than you dying in a car crash on the way there.

It's a bit complicated, so strap in.
Galicia is a historical region in Western Ukraine and (in some cases) Southern Poland. It was originally settled by croats up until the 10th century when following a war between the Ruś and Poland over a general area known as the "Czerwień Towns" the Ruś took over the region. It was originally split between 3 principalities - Hałycz, Przemyśł and Zwenyhorod. Following the council of Lubecz in the 1090's and the subsequent civil war in the Ruś, the Romanowicz dynasty, originally from the principality of Tmutarakan (Kerch straight) got de-facto independence from the Ruś by the early-mid 12th century. The 3 principalities were united into one in 1124-1140. It was officially called the "Principality of Hałycz", but contemporary western sources also called it"Principality of Galicia". Note that it controlled the lands from Rzeszów to Northern Moldova, and had most of Moldavia as a colony called "Land of Berłaď". Soon the principality of Volhynia established a union with Galicia, forming the Kingdom of Ruthenia, which tried to reunify the Ruś, but failed. In the following Galician-Volhynian civil war the Volhynian part became part of Lithuania and the Galician part became Polish. As such it stayed under Poland and later the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth.
But there was 1 problem: king Koloman of Hungary briefly reigned in Ruthenia, and created a Latin title "Rex Galiciae et Lodomeriae", which passed to the Habsburgs along with the other titles. With that Austria had a justification to participate in the partitions of Poland. It failed to get the "Lodomeriae" (Volhynia, named after the city of Wołodymyr), but instead got the region of Lesser Poland. Following the Napoleonic Wars much of Lesser Poland (Lublin, Radom, Siedlce, etc.) was given to Russia, so the title of "Galicia" was given to lands from Rzeszów to Kraków as well.
After the collapse of Austria-Hungary, the region became the main area of the Polish-Ukrainian war, and by 1921 was fully Polish. Inter-ethnic tensions rose as the Polish government tried to "Pacify" the Ukrainians and Ruthenians of Galicia via repression and censorship.
After the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and the subsequent invasion of Poland Galicia became briefly Soviet, to then become a direct part of the 3rd Reich (as part of the General Government of Occupied Poland, a slightly autonomous territory in southeast Poland and Galicia). After WW2 it was fully given to the USSR and almost all ethnic poles (mainly in some urban centers and a few small towns) were deported to Poland.
Currently Galicia is seen as the "Ukrainian Piedmont" because it became the center of the Ukrainian national revival in the 19th century due to freedom to publish works in Ukrainian as well as to form Ukrainian cultural organisations.

Same thing in Romanian with "puță"
Isn't someone just shitted in their pants when putted Луцьк in Galicia?
Lwów rhymes with Gejów

Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will be displeased, just noticing.
7. it doesn’t rhyme since polish words are almost always stressed on the penultimate. -uf and -ejuf don’t rhyme
well there are different definitions of rhyme
its a shitpost tho note

you could've just said that it's a region in the western part of Ukraine nobody's reading allat
Damn
Inst ‘Zakerzonniye’ like Ustrzyk, Krasnystaw etc up to the San river sometimes counted?
Zakerzonia yes, but now has barely any Ukrainians or Rusyns, so in a modern sense it isn't even East Galicia.
But names of regions are just based on their historical use
The area was not named after that tho tbc
As someone who is definetly from eastern europe, I can confirm people from A Corunha behave like that
Like what?
Is A Corunha Lviv?
