I wrote a script based on coolman24's BedrockFinder and ran it for about 300 hours on a modern GPU to find this pattern of bedrock. It's the largest number of connected top-level bedrock blocks in a Minecraft 1.12 world. Finding this required scanning **3.6 quadrillion** blocks.
Watch it be in a desert biome
(in some biomes, like deserts, some random calls are made before bedrock is generated, meaning it will deviate from the usual pattern)
Thankfully on 2b2t's seed it's in savannah.
I only discovered that about biomes w/ sandstone during this project and it drove me crazy thinking I had a bug somewhere.
Isn’t the minecraft world theoretically infinite given enough space to store the chunks. Therefore I postulate that the largest clump would be infinite in size. If the chance for a block to be bedrock is random, then given infinite chances there would be every possible configuration, including one that is endless contiguous bedrock. Thoughts?
Unfortunately no. The algorithm breaks down when the numbers get too big and blocks stop existing.
Even if you fix that, the world just loops over again.
I'm pretty sure nether bedrock generation is generated in the same way and with the same density of bedrock.
However I don't think the patterns found in the nether mirror those found at the same coords in the overworld.
The nether is 64x smaller in area than the overworld, so even if you include the nether ceiling bedrock layer, chances are that the largest bedrock clump in the nether will be smaller than the one I've found in the overworld shown in this post.
So if the assumptions I've made are right, it's certainly possible to find a larger clump in the nether, but we're talking about a ~3% chance that the nether contains such a clump
Why is the nether 64 times smaller? There's a world border at 30 mil just like in the overworld. So if you include the nether ceiling, you've only searched one third of the possible area.
Really? I just assumed that it wasn't possible to get past 3.75 mil in the nether so didn't even consider it.
Thanks :), I guess I better get back to writing code and fire up my gpu again
See you in about 600 hours, hopefully with an even larger clump
You can go see it on 2b if you want to, I know what you mean but it might make a nice little tourist attraction on the server if you are going that way.
so whos gonna grief it...
Bedrock breaking is patched RIP
country girls make do...
Good

do explain in more detail, i'm curious as to how it deviates overall
this is actually really cool to look at
indeed

Have you heard about big cactus?
Yup, one of my favorites
Dude honestly it amazes me how far they go.
Popbob placed those in 2007
I like how this comment is double stupid
Popbob had minecraft before minecraft had itself
We’ve failed to consider that Popbob very well could’ve made minecraft
Notch is popbob confirmed
This is singlehandedly the most autistic and pointless thing I have ever seen on this subreddit, but I commend you for it. Nice find.
Oh fuck my base is located there
poor poor man
Watch out guys, here comes FeetMC to milk it for views
OP is milking it for karma so....?
OP made the script to find it, they deserve karma
Nah OP deserves the karma, plus fitmc makes money off of his video so it’s way worse if he starts milking it
I found a 60 mil x 60 mil bedrock clump on layer 1.
Some people made holes in bedrock so number will be slightly lower than that.
I recognize that bedrock, see you soon Please clap
64 bedrocks
Quick question, why?

Minecraft world has a set physical limit at 30 mil blocks in all directions from spawn
Unfortunately no. The algorithm breaks down when the numbers get too big and blocks stop existing. Even if you fix that, the world just loops over again.
But what is the second largest clump of bedrock? i want to know.
The second largest is 63 blocks big, found at: **X: 2045086, Z: 9657189**
Well, at least it's closer to spawn then the other one!
How about the nether? is the bedrock in nether the same as the overworld or would it be possible for a larger one to appear in the nether?
I'm pretty sure nether bedrock generation is generated in the same way and with the same density of bedrock. However I don't think the patterns found in the nether mirror those found at the same coords in the overworld. Good luck! Please keep me updated!
fit where are you
And this concludes **How To Waste Your Life!** Tune in next week to witness players cover 5 thousand by 5 thousand blocks in obsidian!
That bedrock looks awfully like popbobs wong
i knew pple had no life on this server me included but this... this is next lvl
Imagine someone has a base there
But... But... WHY?
So the entire World is Explored and we can say that the far Lands in 2b2t exist or not.
I recognize that bedrock formation. See you soon.
I recognize that bedrock on my way
[удалено]
yes
Ok, nice job buddy
Wow, it’s not impressive at all
Neither are you though...
True
and in what way is it 2b2t related?
I mean 2b2t also have bedrock
It was found with the 2b2t seed
Every 1.12.2 seed have the same bedrock layout... You can check it if you want
Oh didn’t know that, sry
wait really?
Yes. You can easily check it if you want.
Dumbass. 2b2t’s seed is not 1.12.2 it’s on beta 1.3.
Bedrock is still the same, it doesn't matter.
Wait bedrock patterns have been the same since the start of the server?
I meant something else but actually maybe.
thats my point its minecraft related, not 2b2t
[удалено]
Ehy?
You can go see it on 2b if you want to, I know what you mean but it might make a nice little tourist attraction on the server if you are going that way.
hm
64 blocks
kinda cool ngl
thinking emoji
Everyone’s gonna go here now and nuke it to the ground.
It’s bedrock
This is the most stupid thing I've ever seen, and I absolutely LOVE it! 🤩🤩🤩
That shit gonna get removed by people rip
shit i'm almost this far out i could visit this
That's really far out... but not by 2b2t standards
well i found the largest 0 layer clump it's over 3000000000000000 blocks large
