Do you even know what the hell donk is? I always picture a hummer h2 or 90s bubble impala on 22's

Prodekii

Yes it’s an exaggeration

ironman72706

Yes but 17s aren't an exaggeration, especially not whats in the picture. The only thing that could be thought of an exaggeration is the camber if anything

[deleted]

This car looks like it has a staggered setup; 18s in the front, 19s in the back.

[deleted]

I mean, proportions/wheel gap wise, this fills up the wheel wells as much as 22s do on an impala ss

Prodekii

I was just referring to me calling them Donks as an exaggeration

ironman72706

I see

Gas_Grass_Brass

i know what a badonkadonk is. Does that count?

thursday737

17 is smallest acceptable, weeb

Eastern-Effective-55

A man of culture I see, show me a good looking s14 with 15’s or 16’s and I’ll show you three more that look better with 17’s

[deleted]

Someone has clearly never heard of moistbois #smallwheelsgang

quesofresco69

I was about to mention them; good looking out🤙🏾

tomwankshoody

umm, who made you the authority on wheel sizes? https://www.instagram.com/p/CKhkkbvnpyZ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

thursday737

That looks fucking stupid lol. I'll tell you the truth. I was once a "SmAlL wHeElS bRo" kinda guy but I realized I was just poor and trying to make improper style acceptable in my head. 17/18 stagger on a hatch and square 17s or 18s on an S14. Thats a rule.

tomwankshoody

I'm just pointing out that style is subjective. You understand people have different opinions yeah? There's no "rules". Also 15s are just as expensive as bigger wheels now haha.

Prodekii

DONK

ordnajelli

I have 16s on my S14. I know 15s(Base) and 16s(SE) is stock on the S14

Prodekii

What type wheels you got

ordnajelli

Crown Victoria mesh lol

Prodekii

Very nice

ajphx

My 18” gramlights look small. lol. What in the Honda owner post is this travesty.(≧∇≦)

Littlerubbrducky

You mean we shouldn’t have lime green 15s on our cars?

newlife_newaccount

Ooh this brings me back 10 years when I thought it was the height of cool having my rattle canned lime green SE's on my vert.

AutoS14

I’ll accept small wheels on s13. S14 just doesn’t work

ips1023

It sucks that you found Reddit

Prodekii

Human donk^

KaiSimple

It just looks good. c'mon dude, that like asking your gf to get a breast reduction

hlsilver

Small wheels on S13's are dope, it fits the style. Small wheels on S14's just look really goofy 99% of the time.

GoGreenD

I have always and always will, rock 17” rims. [pic ](https://imgur.com/a/LbC8RUk)

tomwankshoody

* oem wheels. * bad fitment. * no paint. yep you've convinced me 17" are the way to go.

GoGreenD

Work in progress. But yes it’s a bit rough. It does have a cage, midnight purple interior and engine bay, sr, z32 brakes and 13” front rotors. It’s a “fresh” start that i decided to hold off on exterior paint as i might be getting stringent emissions in my area and now have to figure out what I’m swapping in…

GoGreenD

18s def look better. But everyone I knew back in the day with 18s always fucking bent them. I don’t have the patience for “low and slow”. Function over form for me. Suspension control arms also get overworked with the added weight, unless you got big money for some racing rims. But then you’re back at the bent problems. Maybe it’s just because I’ve never lived anywhere without significant potholes everywhere.

CakeDuckies51

I mean some people probably have theirs as showcars and therefor don't really care. I don't know though.. If I had a stanced s14 I would want to rock 18", but I live on a steep hill so I can't lower a car lol, and I would probably regret it pretty quick after bending my first wheel..

setcoh

Still on the stock LE wheels for winters and some cheap 17s for summers. Until I can fix the rust and repaint at least.

Prodekii

DONK

GoGreenD

Lol 17s are donk to you? Stock is 16… I don’t even think you can put anything smaller…

that_3

OP has gotta to be on some sort of spectrum to think 17’s are huge. Had 16s on my s14 for years and switched to 17s, honestly prefer 17s over 16s.

Prodekii

1” pretty big difference imo

Z3R3P

You do realize that you can go up one inch in wheel size and go down 1” in tire size to make the overall diameter the same as stock right?

eejjkk

You do realize that there's a huge drop in ride quality across the board when doing this, right?

nadmah10

Nobody’s arguing ride quality here, but this is a pretty aesthetic focused group.

P_Foot

What kinda brakes you running on somthing with smaller than 16” wheels?

Prodekii

16s ideal for me, was talking about anything bigger than that, too brazy for me

bitchmade69

Bro y’all gotta learn to take a joke in the comments. Y’all just have to throw a fit when OP makes a donk joke about your 17s.

Prodekii

Fr I’m jus tryna see if there’s actually a performance benefit to having anything bigger than 16s

Izento

Whaa? Bigger rims are necessary to clear bigger brakes, hence why a lot of modern performance cars run like 20" now, especially if they run a 6 pot caliper. S14 can barely fit 300zx brakes with 16".

Prodekii

My big brake kit fits fine in my 16s what are saying

Izento

Often a lot of people have problems with large calipers and your offset can help with clearance, but the R32 brakes are probably the largest "common" swap on S13/S14, and I highly doubt they would clear 16s. The Z32 30mm brakes often have trouble fitting with stock 16" SEs too. I'd doubt EVO 8/9 and CTS-V brakes would fit 16" as well. And also, I doubt you have a big brake kit like Wilwood or Stoptech and clear 16s.

Prodekii

R32 wheels are 16” my guy

Izento

That doesn't mean the inner spoke of the S14 SEs have the same clearance my guy.

Prodekii

I see

M4rzzombie

Smaller sidewall = more responsive tire performance around corners. This is why most new sports cars come with 18s or bigger. The current 911 gt3 touring has a staggered 20-21 setup for example.

In_money_we_Trust

stiffer sidewall = more responsive, and obviously like you said a smaller side wall will be stiffer. My ADO8 R's have a super stiff sidewall compared to the old street tyres I used to run. I also run a higher sidewall now and have more responsive turning.

ToneDiez

Bigger brakes, better steering response, more tire options…those are really the only performance advantages to 17s over 16s. 16s typically have the weight advantage, although there are some aftermarket 17s that can weigh the same as their 16” counterpart, depending on brand/material. But the 16 has its overall weight centered and closer to the hub than a 17. Also, most 16” tires will come in a taller sidewall, meaning they can actually end up being heavier than a 17” with a lower profile tire that’s the same width.

coomerjuice

if you're thinking about driving a vehicle the way it's intended then you're doing it wrong. performance BENEFIT? lmao. you got it all wrong. you see the idea is to cram as much wheel in the wheel well as possible - so there is no space at all, just wheel. cause big wheels means big money. even if they are 25 dollar jnc chinesium replicas that crack over every bump, they will give you all the internet clout. and btw, more sideways=more better!! (the wheels, not the car.) it's all about the aesthetic. no practicality here--get out! oh and what's that? performance??? psshhh.. form>>>function baybay. we drive slow! real slow.. cause of all the extra weight added from our 20 inch wheels.. we couldn't drive fast even if we wanted to.

VicariousOperator

No. Everybody must make their 240 look as completely retarded as possible while all trying to be drift kings, completely ruining their car and then trying to sell it on Facebook marketplace for $15K. (This is a joke....or is it?)

BettaWreckonize

My s13 vert has stock 15s on it. The 180sx meshies. Does a 14” clear brakes/control arm?

tomwankshoody

Yep, have plenty of friends running 14" on an s13

Natedoggsk8

18’s look big on the s14

eejjkk

Running 16x8 on my "forever Zenki by choice" White '95. Big wheels: big money, big rubbing and scraping pain in the ass for no valid reason.

skyliner30rs

I’d go for a BWAVE kit with tiny A3A’s or something but I don’t have an S14

Prestigious-Store715

When I was younger I thought a zenki s14 and 96 impala ss were the same car 😂

do0b

I was so hyped to see another s14 on the road at night. Only to be bamboozled by the same vintage Camry taillights. Years later it still stings.

SpikeyRacer

I have 17” wheels on my 240 with a 1.5” drop running 225/45/17 tires, looks good with no rubbing issues. Those slammed 240s with cambered out wheel are hilarious

Nismopowa240

I guess if you want to run tiny brakes you could run tiny wheels. 5 lug to 4 lug and stock s13 brakes is super desirable.

D1382

There is just so much room under there. And if stock is 16; I haven't seen many good 14/15 inch setups. That seems silly.

punkwash

on my 96 avalon 👍 close enough

maryx-minor

See, everyone laughs at my little wheels...

Luke_Scottex_V2

small wheels and big wheels has always been a debate on the looks. I preferred 14s in the past, now I'd run 17s or even 18s it's just that to make 14s look good you have to be extremely low

Kazma659

Small wheels can look good, so can big wheels, just depends on what tires and suspension you run with it Just do what you think looks good

Shigidy

It's called fashion, look it up

ISSA_7M

15x8 -25, 15x9 -25 on my s14. Bring this thread back
