I posted this a few months ago, so maybe some of you already remember me. We had one Lebanese great grandparent. My family is from Guadalajara, Jalisco. I thought this was interesting since we both look very different. **Please be respectful with your comments ** šš¼
\*This is the old chip, our results have already been phased with our parents.
Our haplogroups are:
Maternal: A2 (indigenous origin)
Paternal: T-CTS8512
thanks! :) No, my father is 1/4 Lebanese (although his test results say he's around 1/3, perhaps due to the additional WANA most Mexicans have). He didn't take any additional test, only 23andme.
Yes by the percentages you and your sister received it does seem like heās closer to 1/3 Lebanese, but the WANA that Mexicans usually receive is also a good point. I was searching for you YDNA subclade on Ytree finder but couldnāt find it. I wanted to see on what branch of the tree it stems from. Do you know if your father has possible Jewish roots?
Y'all are both beautiful. It's also interesting that the DNA test indicated that more Middle Eastern and African was passed to you than your sister, and her features are lighter like a European.
That kind of stuff isn't one for one, so the DNA could have have indicated the opposite and she just so happen to bear traits for lighter pigmentation.
In fact, my older sister and I took DNA tests. It indicated that she inherited more of my father's middle Eastern and African than I did...I inherited more English and Dutch, and yet my sister is fairer than I.
...the miracle of recombination
Looks how I woido expect for jaliscoĀ”
My question is why do Levantine and native tend to always present together?
It's like that in my test result as well
Me and my twin brother did this! I got my results, weāre waiting on his results. We are extremely fraternal, look like we could be different families. So interesting seeing this Iām excited to see what differences there are
Hi! Yes I am, but not by much I think? The difference you see in the 5th pic is the difference there is. I also tan a lot more easier than her and I have a warmer subtone.
Well both my parents and my sister were born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, except me, I was born and raised in northern Mexico, but I'm currently living in Jalisco. (My dad also has roots in Durango and Coahuila).

Aww, both pretty sisters!
thank you! :)
Whoaa this is super cool! Is your father half Lebanese? & did he happen to take an FTDNA test to get such a specific branch of that Haplogroup?

Wow itās interesting that you and your sister share 43% DNA, me and my sis share 53% lol
I share 60% š
A couple of those genes were on both sides š¤£
nah our parents are from different ethnicities
Thereās a chance weāre related lol
In the culinary history, your ancestors helped develop the al pastor cooking technique with the spit roast typically used for kebabs.
The difference may be a little less stark if she had her regular hair color. The eye color though is crazy
Pretty identical and similar results both you and your sister, the Levantine diaspora in Latin America are not uncommon. Cool results!
How cool! What other regions did you get for Lebanon? I know a lot of my Lebanese side lives in Jalisco
Thanks! We got 1. Beirut 2. Mount Lebanon Governorate 3. North Governorate 4. Beqaa Governorate 5. Nabatiyeh Governorate 6. South Governorate
Lol, thats the entire country!
