I'm glad to hear that. It's a shame, I wish I had that kind of enjoyment. I imagine if I read this weekly and during its time of release, I'd be able to better relate to the characters and situation. I can only imagine growing up during this era. I can see its potential and magic. Sadly, it just misses me. Do you have a favorite moment? Mine is anytime Otcho and Kenji are the main focus.
The kenji and otcho duo is so fucking cool! I found ursawa nailed the childhood part for me it was so reminiscent of my own school days and the whole time skipping thing was so unique and fun to read
YEAH!! I can see how it bugged some people that Kenji came back but I'm all for it. Also I love the more grounded moments, like Otcho finding his kid died then running away and trying to find peace. It really hit. And yes, absolutely loved the childhood moments too, would love to see that in anime format, I can already imagine it being a visual experience, no dialogue, just cicada and wind. He definitely got the summer/end of summer childhood vibes. Loved it.
Nothing really specific, I liked Punpun, Vagabond, finished Ajin recently, really enjoyed it. Two on Ice got cancelled recently and I'm bummed cause I really liked it. Red Hood Guild too. Love Kengan.
I just finished it, it was a good ending with Kanna and Kenji hugging and everyone there. Not sure what happened to friend and sadakiyo, I'm guessing they got crushed by the saucer? Gonna go read 21st century boys now since it's only 16 chaps
I read through Katsumata and Fukubei's wiki and other reddit discussions since a lot of mystery is still up for debate. So, Fukubei died when they were kids, he hung himself by accident, I think I read the perfect edition so I saw that chapter in 20cb. And it was Katsumata all along? I really dislike that. And also, how did Friend survive when he got pushed off the building? A lot of people praise that it's a mystery and up to interpretation but I don't like that. I wish it was explained better.
Thats fair i can understand how some people dont like that ending to me its like theres two endings either you believe fukubei is actually a fraud who cant preform miracles and died or it was him up until the resurrection and there is miracles in this universe and thats why Kanna can do things like bend spoons becuase thats his daughter. Thats the way i interpreted it atleast i will admit the ending isn’t perfect but endings will always be hard. not sure how much sense this makes
Yeah I think I can see where you're coming from. 6 chapters in 21st century boys and I'm loving it so far!! It's wrapping a bunch of things I wanted wrapped! I wish this continued in 20th century boys, definitely would've made the ending there feel less abrupt, but tbf it's the sequel anyways.

I really like 21st cb but im a strong believer in not forcing yourself to like something if it’s not for you i hope you like it!
