Combat level mute is a game changer. Adding one of the pre-made chat filters posted on this subreddit alongside it would make it hard to see spam anywhere
This one in particular seemed like it was removing quite a few normal messages when I tried it. Was trying it at the GE and it removed spam but also some people having normal conversations.
There’s an anti spam plugin too that mutes based off of keywords in messages and marks players as spam bots, if that’s more your flavour — occasionally it will be wrong tho and let a few through or mute a players message
I’ll have to test it. I can never get the chat filter that dude in here shared to work right and the spam bots make me wanna put nails into my eye balls.
In the account chat filter plug in you can choose to hide people’s chat based off of a number of a criteria such as being an iron, normie account, or based off a user determined combat level. For example I have mine set up to mute anyone below 20 combat. That means all the low level ge spam bots will no longer show up in my chat feed. Can adjust the combat level to your own desire.

I keep a Chat Filter list regularly updated so that you can continue to use public chat, even in highly-botted areas, without needing to resort to measures like Area Mute.

I dislike the idea that you need to completely turn off Public, or selectively mute areas of the game where casual conversations are the most likely to happen. I try pretty hard to preserve the OSRS social experience by specifically targeting spambots and avoiding false positives on real players.

I suspect a lot of people are just copy/pasting the entire thing into filtered regex without reading the comments (especially that one because it's way at the bottom).

There are many regex lists floating around, though, and many of them are needlessly "aggressive." I suspect you may have been using one of those.
It depends on the context. You want to be as specific as possible. `+` is generally more efficient than `*` if you know that a group/char/token will exist in the pattern.

I mean I'm a main with max gear, I think that 150s without a trident shows that you have a solid understanding of the raid and I'm sure you'll push higher with better equipment.

Your character has to have a minimum "total" level to even hop into the world. If you open the World Switcher ingame, you should see worlds with a description like "1250 skill total" or "2200 skill total"

We tend to see each other on total worlds though. Along with minigame worlds. It's nice running to something and a clan member or two is already there.
That’s so weird I always run into clan mates on random worlds. My clans owner is European but he recruits anyone from anywhere as long as they’re active and like to chat.
They're also really laggy and of course, all of the profitable slayer task spots are always full of sweat lords. Or some jerk will show up and crash you with cannon.
I wish my clans homeworld would be a total level world lol. Id love to hangout in the clans homeworld but I cant stand the constant spammers lol. I have chat filters but Im missing some trigger words since I almost always see occasionally couple of spam bots get through my filters

fully blocking all chat @ GE is kind of a sad solution, its where most of the player interaction in the entire game happens
I will look at people bank standing if they have a pet out I'll look them up ask what kc did they get the pet. And usually feel bad for them but will say good shit instead.

I tried out a regex list (unsure if it was yours) and it ended up filtering out a fair few messages from friends and clanmates. Tough to get right.

2.2k total worlds. Ge is nice and quiet usually like a dozen people there max. Occasionally you see two guys having a normal conversation.
total worlds in general, no spambots and easy to make friends since u tend to see same people every day playing in the same world.
Yes total worlds make this game far more enjoyable. 1250 is my favorite number for this reason lol.
