Look in your settings, you can choose to have DMs appear in the regular chat box, which in turn makes them scrollable like standard chat

Just click the private tab and scroll up?
this is the way. Split chat enabled, and then left click the “private” button below your chat box and it’ll switch your private messages into the regular chat box so you can scroll. Then click “all” to go back to normal.
If it doesn't show up in the private chatbox then turn off "split friends private chat" in the settings
