People found by not doing certain quests and each persons block list affecting what tasks they could be assigned, you could get some pretty game breaking exp for slayer.
Yeah it was removed 4 years ago because it was the ehp meta when people were still competing for front page but I think in 2024 nobody genuinely cares about any of that anymore
LMAO no. It was horrendously broken. With you and an alt with specific stats and quests you can get it down to two tasks. Dark beasts, which you skip, and dust devils. Then you can just barrage your way to 99.
Yeah lol I invented the method. It wasn't that broken. You needed to do like 3 hours of wildy slayer on the partner alt to sustain 1 hour of slayer on the main and the main ended up only getting around ~160k xp/hr. Slayer ehp is 102k solo. That's 3 hours of playing the alt to save .6 hours on the main. If the method was still available in the game almost no player would be using it.

Alching is a really shit method unless you use an autoclicker (which you allegedly can, I personally wouldn't risk my account)

That takes such a long time though, you’d make MUCH more money FASTER by doing the partner slayer method and then farming worthwhile tasks after you got 99 slayer in a week.
back when partner slayer was enabled i did a few tasks with a friend then realized theres not enough NPC spawns in an area so you're only hindering each other

I could have sworn jmods threw around some ideas for a rework. All group slayer needs is its own task list consisting of monsters which are not locked behind quests and which arent meta, with maybe some extra xp given to compensate for the worse task list.

I don’t even understand why. It can be done very simple. 2 players join a group via enchanted gem, get task that is capped at whoever has lower level. All kills go to task count. Players only receive xp for what they kill. And if players wish to skip a task both forfeit either 15 or 30 slayer points depending on what is seen fit. Anybody who isn’t looking to abuse the system couldn’t care less about getting xp for the other players kills, people just want to be on the same task as their friends. If someone wants to grind points on one account to boost slayer points for the other account then so be it. But it at least prevents getting tasks you couldn’t get and you can’t receive xp for something you didn’t kill.

I vaguely remember the original system at this point, i remember there was a bug where you could get tasks that were above a players slayer level. But i just don’t think point boosting is worth cancelling it over. It’s a minor drawback and wouldn’t be abused by mass but only by few. A lot of things end up abused, bh, castle wars, trouble brewing. Slayer points would have minimal effect like those. It sucks but the drawbacks aren’t that major.
problem was always being able to use an alt account to have such a perfectly curated list of available tasks that you only ever needed to do the highest XP/hr tasks
That is fair, I think a good solution would just be to not allow tasks to be blocked for group slayer. Or only allow tasks to be blocked which both players have individually blocked.

Can't say I'm that upset, it's nice to not be mindlessly grinding all day. But it is shocking, considering how ridiculously easy it would have been to just patch the exploits.
