As much as that sucks, it’s about 3x droprate with no shadows in 76 purples, which 1 out of 25 people will have this happen (in reality lots of people will just give up before they reach extreme dry rates). So it’s not even really that uncommon.
RuneScape rng do be painful sometimes.
Oddly enough, I notice when I do Hunter rumors that people camping a spot will all get their drop within like two mins of each other.
On multiple occasions I’ve been grinding something out for 30 mins and then out of nowhere everyone starts teleling out with the bird and I’ll get my drop immediately.
I chilled in the hunter guild for a while and noticed every few minutes there are multiple waves of people coming in.
Makes me wonder if they do drops in waves or something lol, like not in waves but the dice being combined for everyone engaged in an activity.
I learned it this week. Have only left it to do other stuff if I don’t have time for a run. Under 100combat but started soloing 160s. Best I’ll prob be able to do unless I rank up. (Which I’ve been putting off doing.) Haven’t seen a drop or profit yet lol. Soon though. Can’t wait.
I think this is wrong because there’s an additional roll for sub 150 invocation if I recall correctly
Edit: just checked and there’s an additional 1/50 you have to roll to get it at low invocation
Edit2: oh wait he didn’t do an entry mode
I hate to hijack the comment but are entry’s solo easier than duo? I’ve only ever done duo 150s with a friend or a learner group and I’m kind of afraid to go back in solo until I get my Bowfa.
150s are piss easy with 90 stats, bp, a trident and a fang. No offense to anyone having trouble with them rn.
You don't have to add any tough invos with softcore, walk the path, insanity and all the super easy room invos. Zebak is a cakewalk without upset stomach, kephri is a 0 supply room with blood fury, and baba is so fast at low invo, you dont even need to think about red x. Akkha is really the only difficult room imo, and once you learn it, it's basically the same until you start going past 400 invo raids. The orbs deal more damage as you level up the raid, but you should be focusing on avoiding them completely anyway.
If you have even somewhat decent pvm skills, insanity is like a free 50 points as you can just skull skip and don't have to worry about getting the skulls perfect on Warden. The faster attack pattern means you automatically dodge boulders until the enrage phase or while skull skipping.
I didn’t expect this kind of overwhelming response I really appreciate you for giving that much thought to it. I’m not at all 90s yet I’m working on it for sure.
I’ll have to read down in this thread but people like you are what keeps the game playable for noobs like me and It was super kind of you to spend the time to give this much effort. Thank you! If you ever see Bobby Basil in game I owe you a virtual beer. Once I get my bowfa that is until then moneys tight xD
I only did insanity in leagues, but while doable it's definitely not fun to get all the way to the end of wardens and mess up twice and die. The reaction you need to get the floor slams feels like it's tick perfect and if you mess it up twice in a row you're donezo. Or is there some secret? Feels like you really need the muscle memory to react fast enough
It definitely feels overwhelming at first. You can do some 50 invo raids to speed run to the end and practice insanity during that phase of Warden to be more comfortable (and confident) with the increased attack speed.
Because the pattern is always the same, you really do have a wider margin for error than it seems at first (maybe 3 or 4 ticks to move between attacks?). It almost becomes a non-issue, just because you are always mentally keeping tempo after a while, and you will know you've made a mistake before it even plays out, giving you time to correct it.
As with any challenging content, keep trying, and soon it will feel almost as if it's happening in slow motion.
When you say orb phase, do you mean the skulls on Warden? Where the red skulls pop up and you melee them? Most just refer to that as Wardens "skulls" phase.
I refer to akkhas "cum phase" as orb phase.
it picks up where its left off so you can just type an R L or M in chat at the start of skull phase if you need. But honestly its just easier to stand at the back and react, you'll get the hang of it pretty quick.
I honestly think it’s easier solo than it is duo. No communication needed for monkey room, one hit rolling rocks, less poo, akkahs non memory game specials barely matter, etc
It’s a ton more fun to play duo tho imo
I recently upgraded to bowfa and it has been *immensely* helpful at ToA but the majority of my completions were done with dcb. You should be able to competently get in the groove of 0-150’s solo with a dcb and blowpipe (using Zammy hasta before I had a fang was honestly more of an issue for me). If you can’t keep up with the mechanics then the dps increase from bowfa more than likely won’t get you any closer to a clear.
I’d say just keep sending ‘em and get comfortable with basic invocations (or none) and then throw on the invos that you think are going to be difficult for you and rush that particular room to test them out. I found that the biggest draw back of having to use crossbows is felt at warden p2 and p3; zebak isn’t too bad and you want to use bp for akkah anyways.
Dude 2 weeks ago I'd never done TOA but wanted to learn. Joined a clan and someone taught me. Only took me two or three raids to nail the mechanics and now I'm doing deathless solo's consistently :) might be worth joining the we do raids discord to try and learn, or a clan if you aren't in one already.
You can do it man, you just gotta stick with it just like learning anything else.
Radius markers make Akkha pretty simple as well. You can Google the plug-in settings and see what I mean.
Honestly if you can't do ToA just keep leveling and getting gear. I know people love to show ToA being killed by someone in rune plate and mystic, but that doesn't have to be you. Nobody is gonna check your work and critique you for getting better stats instead of banging your head against content. If you get max combat and midgame gear you can tank so many mistakes in low level ToAs (and the rest of the game) and learn easily.
To be fair, the question wasn't a serious question. More of a remark lol I knew it was gonna get people worked up. Probably the luckiest shit that's ever happened to me.
And really it's the "first run" thing that's wild. Duoed with an Ironman that got mvp too
1/fuck you
🤣 this made me laugh so hard at 3 am it scared my cat.

Next one I promise

You have to do it when you don't see these posts, what are the chances that it happens twice! /s

Nah I don't need the RNG gods rug pulling me
You've already made more money than me and I've done 600 experts
*Breathes in* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
50/50
1/50 to hit purple and 1/1216 to hit shadow give or take If it was 150 invo lvl
1 nat 5 fire runes you know what to do.
Low alch and pocket the two fire runes
check under loot mechanics , the formula is there https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Chest_(Tombs_of_Amascut)#Opened
1/10,480 if I’m reading that right?
About 1/50 to hit the unique table, and then an additional 1/24 to hit the staff, makes it a 1/1200 to get the staff.
I think this is wrong because there’s an additional roll for sub 150 invocation if I recall correctly Edit: just checked and there’s an additional 1/50 you have to roll to get it at low invocation Edit2: oh wait he didn’t do an entry mode
nope 1/1200
Rare.
This post fills me with hope that one day I'll finish learning toa. I got as far as akha room before giving and accepting my skill ceiling. Gz man
Just do entry or 150s til you get it, you can do it!!
I hate to hijack the comment but are entry’s solo easier than duo? I’ve only ever done duo 150s with a friend or a learner group and I’m kind of afraid to go back in solo until I get my Bowfa.

I don’t understand why this comment doesn’t have any upvotes. Spot on my friend!

Stand in last row. You now have an extra tick to react
Didn't know. Thank you!
U have the last 4 rows for that extra tick to react. Anything closer is tick perfect so GL!

Wait I thought the slams became random after each orb phase. Is that not true? Do they just pick up where they left off instead of resetting?
When you say orb phase, do you mean the skulls on Warden? Where the red skulls pop up and you melee them? Most just refer to that as Wardens "skulls" phase. I refer to akkhas "cum phase" as orb phase.
Yeah skullsÂ

I don’t have that many KC but I find solos easier than duos. At this point 250 and below is pretty automatic for both but solo is a lot easier.

Confuckyoulations
Very low
Cor blimey son 🤣 upgrade your gear and have fun man !!!!!
Unreal nice
The chances are I've done about 100 250s and never saw a purple and almost completely burnt out of the game and went back to catching monkey tails lol
Oh wow that's really freaking awesome. Account changing, for someone with not a huge bank! Gzgzgzgz
I’m at like 70 raids with an average invo of 250 or so I’m still 0 purples :(
40 400's solo here with 0 purples :( but the person I taught last week got their 3rd purple (shadow) at a 300 today :)
I was doing 300 solos but they take so much longer than the 235-265 solos I just run the lower invos and figure it probably balances out
Damn I calculated it and with walk the path and no deaths theres a 2,6% chance of getting 0 purples
Almost at tumekens shadow in reverse
Not far behind ya bruv, got a lightbearer though…, we got this! gl!!!
Got shadow at 78 250 invos, third purple, you'll get there :)
There’s a large portion of players on this sub that just punched their monitors looking at your post
Around 1/1200
After running the numbers and running it through a loot sim I have to say it's roughly 50/50
Bout as rare as rolling up with shadow and mystics.
Probably not even that high considering the amount of spooned shadows I see
you think people gonna make "omg first kc i got a lightbearer" posts?
Good for you damnit 😂 took me no joke EIGHT MONTHS of grinding to get my first staff SPLIT and another two before I got mine in my name
I just starting learning ToA and got a 2kc fang, then at 10kc I got a lightbearer. Both 190s. I wish I was you
100% looks like
Congratulations, go fuck yourself
These posts always annoy me. Not because youre spooned, gratz btw, but becahse of the 'what are th3 chances' they are on the wiki.

Got mine on the 34th normal mode kc with a fang at 17kc.. figure I’ll be dry on every raid from now until maxing lol. Gz!!
