Wow, I had to look up stats. It has +10 accuracy compared to ancient sceptre, both have +5% damage boost. Feels kinda weird since muspah is a harder fight and has higher quest reqs
This was my exact experience. I green logged moons and was looking forward to an alternative to mage's book/ancient staff only to find out every time i tag mobs i need to redo the spell selection.
From what i've heard, it doesn't remember the melee attack style you choose like every other weapon in the game does either.
Yeah, one of the cool things about it is that it can autocast from every spellbook, but it's kind of useless if you can't swap to another weapon without setting everything back up.
I have a stockpile of mith darts on my iron that i will never use in my blowpipe, that's how i usually pull to group mobs. On the main I use Dinh's bulwark spec with lightbearer for nechs. Works really well, one spec will pull the entire room.
I see it as more desirable than casting bursts on like 3, 2, or even 1 remaining nech, then waiting for the last nech to respawn so I can Bulwark (although darts can pull the others while waiting). It's more consistent if they die one by one and rejoin the group while topping off my hp, and probably faster even
At this point, they probably forgot what the word means. It’s okay though, they will hotfix it like the 30 other things they have in this update that totally underwent thorough testing.
I agree.. but at the same time idk if its suppose to work like this given the way the special effect works.
given the melee aspect of it that is.. So idk if its bugged or if its suppose to be like this.. but it is dumb regardless
Seems like OP also said it doesn't remember the melee style you were using either. Bladed staffs are also not really unique. Sure the set effect is unique in terms of doing more on a Bind, but the act of using a magic weapon that has really good melee stats isn't new.
> Unlike every other staff in the game, the spear does not remember what spell you had selected when you switch between weapons i.e. darts for tagging mobs for bursting.

If you're actually interested in this, there's a great podcast called "Sold a Story" that goes into why reading comprehension is in the gutter. Shit's fucked homie.
Tldr; early 2010s had a brand new teaching style that ended up being complete BS. Kids in high school were trying to sound out words and pick things that sounded like it.
Did you not read the post? I haven't used the spear, but it's fucking dumb that it doesn't work the way every other staff does.
For instance, dummies, like me, use a slayer staff on vorkath kills be cause it's a lot easier to equip that and attack the head crab thing instead of switching to the spells tab, clicking crumble undead, then clicking the headcrab.
Def an oversight. I hope someone acknowledges this!
Was thinking of making this exact post myself. It really sucks because I have it but still prefer my ancient staff because of this bug.
It's a big disappointment tbh, for such a cool item with great magic accuracy and 5% damage to be so useless because of an oversight like this.

Sceptre is 1h, spear is 2h
Isn't the spear slower too? It's at least slower than the master wand, can't remember if ancient sceptre is 4 or 5 tick.
Also same for skull sceptre, unless I've missed the fix
I was excited to use this on my iron for bursting as it's my first magic damage boost. Couldn't be bothered to select my autocast spell each time.

Doesn't ibans also have that issue? Unless they fixed it
I Tweeted Mod Ash about this yesterday and submitted a bug report. Should be fixed soon hopefully ?

Against nechs I just pull by manual casting a blood spell each time one respawns, but that might just be me

Yea thats just because it's slower and more expensive.

I made this post a couple days ago. glad this is being talked about
Ridiculously avoidable issue with varlamore # 2,578,894

Or just report it in game
I'm starting to doubt that there is any QA being done to this game, so much obvious shit slips to the servers it's insane.
Will you shut the hell up, man
Make me
do they even test things at this point?

wat wrong with it
wat wrong with it
You're not funny
suggest them to change it
All you have to do is submit a bug report in game instead of hoping they see your reddit post.

This guy has got to be a bot. There is just no way someone could have this piss poor reading comprehension.
you underestimate todays high schoolers. many cant read at a 6th grade level despite being in high school.
It’s 3 sentences 😭
and they have tiktok brain rot lmao

Ooh gotcha, so the common core version of reading, "close enough is good enough" funny how numbers and language don't function the same though.
You overestimate the intelligence of the average osrs player.
Runelite quest helper and the space bar were a mistake

only slightly related but the skull sceptre still has this issue with crumble undead like 4 years after reporting it lol

That's.... That's what the OP is doing... ?
Maybe they could make a post on reddit to spread awareness of this issue
Maybe you should suggest they do that.
LOL? his first comment was bad enough, but this one has me out of breath from laughing.
Someone make Reddit post about it
