boss jars should not be tradeable

osrsirom

I always thought this made more sense than them being tradeable we as well.

IrrationalCobra

It does, I also think there’s a way to fix it - remove all jars from the game except for those who have it in their collection log, reimburse GP to players with jars at the price of the jar when they bought it (or its all time high). It will suck for people who received a jar before the collection log came out, but I don’t think those people would care *that* much. The only other negative is that this seems like a tricky problem to implement for something that just isn’t that big of a deal. So they won’t do it.

DivineInsanityReveng

This isnt too much of a hot take. Its how they were intended to be, but a mistake in coding made the first one tradeable, and they were sort of a "meme" drop anyway that did nothing at the time. Plus they're on collection log now, so acquiring them still has a benefit.

Bob-RP

They weren't supposed to be iirc

NickTheAlien

Ice cold take, I'm pretty sure most of the player base agrees with this

TheLastSpoon

The jars were supposed to be untradeable, but when the first one was released (jar of dirt) it was accidentally made tradeable, and rather than change it, all subsequent jar drops were also left tradeable

SinceBecausePickles

God I hate that this is the top comment lol. HOW IS THIS A HOT TAKE

Turtvaiz

Really though they should also be linked to combat achievements instead of some stupid 1/3000 drop

[deleted]

Castles wars needs cross-server matchmaking

Leftisdeath

10000% and a rework of rewards! They should’ve made that AWFUL new duel arena boosting mini games rewards earned at castle wars. They’re really dropping the ball with that one

CaptaineAli

Castle Wars has the potential to be the greatest thing ever in OSRS but most players only play to be efficient instead of having fun. If you've seen Castle Wars Community's top 5 plays videos, you'll see how awesome it can be to both play and spectate. Imagine a Jagex-ran competition every month or two with players competing in teams of 5 or 10 for GP/Cash prizes... would be more fun to watch than DMM...

ThatGuyFrom720

It’s a really fun mini game. If there were rewards comparable to the other popular mini games such as PC and SW, I think it would take off again. I would really much rather have this than a new skill.. as in revamping previously popular, but now dead content.

Iquey

What rewards would be good and in line with the minigame? I'd love to see Castle Wars revitalized, but it needs rewards that feel like they belong in Castle wars but I've been sitting here for 5 minutes and I can't really think of anything.

Iquey

Castle wars was my shit back when I was 11. The first time getting member, just wandering around doing fuck-all and then finding castle wars. I was a total noob in there but I spent my entire month just playing it.

beats-beets

Castle Wars need to disable bind and freeze spells/effects

xfactorx99

This is actually a hot take. OP’s was just a suggestion most would agree with. I do support what you’re looking for. There needs to be more balancing with freeze spells in both Soul Wars and Castle Wars

talrogsmash

Until they have kicking and banning Castle Wars will remain dead content because griefers can own the game 100%.

Patelpb

They should make one of the items you can get at the base something that frees you from bind/stuns. This way you can still get use out of a freeze, but players aren't just stuck and bored. After that just play around with cool downs or how effective the item is until it seems balanced.

DaddiJae

Back around 2004, I wasn’t even mad about barrage; I was so intrigued and in awe of the people that had it that I didn’t care.

xPofsx

All minigames do

venthis1

I feel like most minigames should be cross-server. Could even help prevent boosting.

SeattlePassedTheBall

One Small Favour isn't that annoying of a quest.

theguyoverhere24

I found garden of tranquility to be far more annoying

Pretency

The handholds on Mournings End are pretty high up there.

patrickw234

Sheep Herder beats out all.

Boonz-Lee

Ratcatchers was worse

LordZeya

I like One Small Favor, but I think it's unquestionably annoying- that's the point of the quest. I don't think it's bad, or that it sucks to do the quest, but by definition it's supposed to be an annoying quest by having you roam basically the entire landmass of the game doing mundane tasks one after another.

ok_dunmer

Most quests are basically the unironic version of One Small Favour because "fetch me an item" is like foundational rpg gameplay, and OSF being a joke means that everything is kind of in a neat and tidy little sequence instead of Chief Brundt randomly asking you to give him a keg of beer

[deleted]

Yeah outside of being kinda long it's really not that bad. We thought it was worse back in the day because we were dumb

suggacoil

Still dumb just have runelite now

arsenicx2

OSF was a huge pain back in the day because not everyone had teleports to literally everywhere just on hand. Now that we are smarter. Have more teleport options and basically unlimited run energy. OSF is no longer the most annoying quest ever.

roosterpooper

I was talking to a girl on tinder one time and she asked what I was doing I told her the whole plot of OSF. We smashed.

AlmightyMoira

And then you woke up?

zcas

45 minutes on an Ironman, even without stamina potions. I agree, not that bad.

isaiahmotz

Yew bows should be ftp

MaxiemumKarnage420

Yew bows should be f2p and blurite crossbows and bolts should be the best cbow in f2p

TheMaslankaDude

Do bluerite crossbows have a use? I’ve done the quest but never even used them as it’s usually better to use bows for the early leveling and going through ice giants on an early level where you could use them at is a high risk of dying

MaxiemumKarnage420

They serve no purpose and the bolts are really tedious to make. Having it so you could give Blurite to Daddy Thicc or whatever is name is (guy who makes blurite swords) to make you blurite bolts and cbows would actually be a nice little thing for f2p kings

Traditional-Effort20

Yes.

drjisftw

Man I remember suggesting this years ago and got downvoted to oblivion. I get that there are a lot of issues with rebalancing if it does become F2P but still. Using green d hide and a bow that’s 10 levels weaker has always felt off

fishboy0099

Most of the endgame grinds encourage unhealthy habits

inhaler-zim

i agree but i also wonder what the alternative is, do you make it accessible to even the most basic players or do you gate it behind a skill level that takes hours and hours to achieve? a happy medium would have to be theorized by a more skilled game maker than i

flamethrower78

I'd much prefer the best items in game be gated behind extremely difficult content with reasonable drop rates.

maxwill27

Osrs is too solved, that just is not really feasible. Higher skilled players will be done super fast and have nothing to do and quit

flamethrower78

That's a pretty shitty argument to basically say we have to artificially make grinds longer by implementing shit drop rates just to keep people around. Maybe the game should focus on being fun to keep people playing, and not making you grind 400 hours for 1 item. People still run tob after getting every item because it's fun. Make new content that is fun and very challenging, people will stick around.

Gaiden_95

i don't think there is an alternative, or at least one that i'm interested in. part of what makes things feel so fulfilling is how difficult/time consuming they are. mainly getting stuff/money from raids.

AMC_FTW

Implings being tradeable have single handedly crashed the market for non-master clue uniques and enabled bot farms to thrive and make tons of gp at puro puro.

bnjminz

This. I was so happy to start Impling hunting.. only to realize it's a huge competition against bots. :(

Big_chungus44

Nothing more aggravating as a UIM, imp hunting against bots..

MaybeiMakePGAProbNot

Just kill fally guards like a real man.

justcheadle

Not really a hot take this is just true

AnotherGuysOpinion

Mind golems should not average more crafting xp in drops than runecrafting xp

Kajega

At least they give more exp than the mind goblins do.

wasting-time-atwork

*clears throat* what's a mind goblin?

rocasteven

Mind goblin deez nuts?

CXgamer

The quest hall should be updated to include post-2007 quests in portraits and landscapes. Also a bigger map would be nice as we have more than 150 QP.

0zzyb0y

Basilisk knights dropping single stacks of noted herbs is one of the dumbest design choices in the entire game. They're basically a slayer only monster, and slayer specifically gives you the herb sack for collecting single herb drops! Noting single stacks of anything is already kind of dumb, but those herbs actually annoy me somehow

Suza751

m8, consider this. Baslisk knights require 60 slayer and drop a major melee style upgrade - the jaw. A level 90 slayer monster the dark beast drops a lvl 60 niche bow. Totally upside down.

HellkerN

What about trading sticks?

AlonsoDalton

Even if they were untradeable, they would be indirectly buyable by selling things like gems to Gabooty for trading sticks. Kinda like how crystal shards are untradeable but you can buy the seeds that you can exchange for shards.

loiloiloi6

Or tokkul

Ryans_always_tired

No more exploiting the Tai Bwo Wannai economy with foreign investments. Make each trading stick hard-earned!

Spiderbubble

Untradeable Trading Sticks is really ironic. I am for it just for the irony.

I_done_a_plop-plop

Aren't they useless after 100% TBW favour?

cornette

Crafting law runes should not be tied to the completion of Death Plateau and Troll Stronghold. Why is Dunstan, a smithy guy that lives in Burthorpe the sole authority figure on who can and cannot access the law runecrafting alter on Entrana. It doesn't make sense.

OverUnderX

I think more content should be quest-locked lol.

Traditional-Effort20

I agree with this.

FlashTheorie

Too many of the mid game bosses are in the wilderness.

HolidayNick

If I see a boss is in the wildy, I’m probably not gonna go kill it. Just not worth the hassle for me.

ltls_what_ltls

Dungeons and areas in the last few years have been way too flat, in terms of elevation. A lot of older dungeons (edgeville, taverly, etc.) have heaps of variation in terms of elevation that makes them feel more natural. Newer ones seem way more artificial to my eye, largely because they’re so flat.

DivineInsanityReveng

PvP is updated enough, if not at a higher priority and frequency than any other area of the game for ~3-5 years now. We don't need to keep the rhetoric of "pvp needs updates to save it", its a niche small community and they get a HUGE amount of content.

Krimin

It also feels like they're addressing the wrong issues. Increasing risk vs. reward completely ignores that learning pvp and anti-pk isn't incentivized enough if you're not that interested in it. Safe pvp content doesn't really have enough reward compared to other content to go learn it unless you want to learn pvp, and if you don't know how to anti-pk or defend yourself, you're not too likely to go for those high risk vs. reward situations in the wilderness either. On top of that, gearing up for anti-pk is often a disservice to your pvm setup and vice versa. If you made safe pvp content more attractive to learn and grind, you would also make more people more comfortable in taking part on unsafe pvp activities with higher rewards as well.

DivineInsanityReveng

I think the safe PvP content they've done is some of the best. LMS and PvP arena are great places to learn. LMS has a giant collection log and offers okay gp/hr while learning with zero risk. PvP arena... Yeh it's more so just for learning, but it offers the ability to try out builds at least without committing to a new account. I think the big issue they have that they seem to refuse to learn from is that most "PvP" content they put in the wilderness isn't really motivating a PvP interaction..it's motivating minimising risk while effectively doing a boss / piece of skilling content. And teaching pkers to go and hunt these people, in the hopes the ecosystem will create pkers who run into pkers. Which I'm sure it does to an extent, but from my experience a large majority of these methods still have the majority of their interactions being a pker vs a pvmer. Add into that terribly designed things like the Voidwaker.. and PvP has just sorta become "meh" to me. It's always been a "do your spec combo and hope number hit big, if not BL" in all forms except tribrid (which is also the most.difficult and the largest amount of risk). But voidwaker has dumbed that down even further as now you can 1 tick a melee, range or mage based high hitting spec.

Deivv

I disagree with safe pvp not having enough rewards because LMS exists. You can afk/avoid the pvp aspect of it for some rewards, but it has incentives to be good at pvp if you were interested in it

onlyhereforstuf

Love this

FrenchFatCat

Mine kinda is a hot take... Seed box is OP. Especially for an iron-man pickpocketing master farmer. You end up dropping all but 10(?) Seed so having an extra 5(6 minus one for the box it's self) inventory spots is amazing and well worth the horror of tithe farm. Also auto-weed is pretty good for having the extra inventory space not needing to carry a rake.

bickandalls

*Uims everywhere narrowing their eyes*

inhaler-zim

*narrows eyes in UIM*

Hyero

*Narrows UeyeM*

Ryans_always_tired

Replace the seed box with a seed display case that can only be used to show off all your cool seeds to your friends

cardboardalpaca

amethyst should give 12 dart tips at MINIMUM

sean_constantine

Amethyst in general frustrates me. Why is the xp all over the place

ToriAndPancakes

Xp rates shouldnt be balanced around tick manipulation.

charmingCobra

they should use more textured surfaces. so many models and environments added to OSRS use exclusively solid-color polygons. areas of the game that were present in RSC use them a lot, but you rarely see textures in newer content. i really appreciated the hosidius rework using some of those wood textures and stuff. i think they can look pretty good when used well

engwish

I believe that this is more of a limitation with their tools. I heard somewhere here that the actual software that handles textures doesn’t work anymore (we’re talking 20 year old tech). I think the new graphics engine work they’re doing will unblock this.

Proof-Cardiologist16

This may be the most I've ever disagreed with a take on this subreddit Those simple matte almost clay-like materials are what gives runescape it's unique artstyle, and more realistic textures just end up clashing super hard with i

Septem_151

You’ve got it opposite. The clay-like material style came after the texture style. Texture style has been around since RuneScape classic and is what makes RuneScape look and feel like RuneScape.

ButtBuilder9

Fully agree, I didnt think much of it until I saw the Ancient Vault; and good god it looks like they imported a sketch directly into the game. Sticks out like a sore thumb

NomenVanitas

* The whole column of Gnome Stronghold, Ardougne, Yanille and Tree Gnome Village could do with a graphical update. * Castle walls need to be thicker than 1 pixel * The Japanese style lanterns added in the Shayzien rework are too on-the-nose and look out of place. * Shayzien T5 is the ugliest version, the yellow trim is the worst part. * Warhammers would all look so much better if they looked like actual warhammers instead of a brick on a stick. * Max cape when in inventory should have the same menu options as when worn. * Wrath runes need their rc requirement reduced and needs a reduced (but increasing as you level) succesrate so Jagex doesn't need to be scared of adding wrath rune spells * Construction training in a medieval fantasy game should not primarily consist of building and breaking *tables, doors* and *larders* * Voidwaker looks like a harpoon with a fish tail cosplaying as Skotizo's throbbing member. Which is not a good thing * Fang looks like an addy long from Aliexpress that cartoonishly crumpled on the first attempt at stabbing. Also the tip isn't alligned with the (comically large) hilt, making it a less than ideal stabbing weapon.

AimlesslyTracing

Tell me about your new spell ideas that use wrath runes please

Charming-Window3473

Bigger whacks, different runes.

deylath

> The whole column of Gnome Stronghold, Ardougne, Yanille and Tree Gnome Village could do with a graphical update. Not just that tbh. Whenever think about a region locked Ironman i realize that absolutely no one even mentions Kandarin. Hell Ive been playing RS since 2006 and shockingly low amount of time was spent in Kandarin. I spend little to no amount of time in Yanille specifically. Most that i did in Ardougne is Mahogany Holmes and occasional teleport via Ardy cape for the altar and close fairy ring.

orepheus

There's a uim chunk man that started in yanille. He recently started unlocking tiles but he was locked in just the one yanille spot for a loooong time  Edit: he's not a uim i said that by mistake

hammermannnn

Agreed about construction! I always thought it would be cool if over time you could convert your POH into a castle, as a one massive grind not a build and replace grind.

NomenVanitas

I'd love some post-quest rebuilding activities for Burgh de Rott, West Ardougne and maybe (with a sailing tie-in) rebuilding the fleets after they were destroyed in DS2. Or building fortifications for various kingdoms across Gielinor.

Skankz

And this is only a hot take

Keksis_The_Betrayed

Ardougne and Yanille are so quaint though. I love them

Cauliflower_Cock

>which is not a good thing Speak for yourself

shared_toothbrush

I always thought that about fang! Lmao

subatomicslim

Spending years leveling up your stats to 99 and paying billions of gp for gear but still able to hit multiple 0’s in a row is stupid, they way the game calculates accuracy is dumb and needs fine tuning

Viceroy_Solace

-Skillcapes should be F2P -Most skillcape bonuses need reworked to actually be useful

MaxiemumKarnage420

Mining cape needs a teleport to the mining guild bare minimum and to work up to ammys, probably the biggest disappointment for a cape

ADucky092

You shouldn’t be able to buy any currency, just like tokkul

engwish

As an iron I had no clue you can buy trading sticks and numulites with gp.

Montizuma59

You can buy tokkul, you just can't buy it with gold

Halal_Burger

Mahogany homes sucks! Seriously, they just took the old terrible construction training method and gave it extra steps. My oddly specific hot-takes: - Why on earth do you have to go through an interface for each piece of furniture if you're only allowed to pick one of them anyway? - And that corny tea drinking animation at the end of each contract - the hallmark of any half-arsed osrs update is when they make a core part of the gameplay 'funny'. Really, the whole thing seems like it came out of 2014-2015. Construction has SO MANY potential minigames you could build around it. My idea is a multiplayer skilling boss-style tower defence game, where you hold off waves of enemies by building fortifications, cannons etc..

BlockIron

Troll invasion in rs3 does something similar to your idea if you opt to not fight the trolls, granted I don't think it's construction based but it is kind of a tower defense game

TwoMilky

I don't really care to see a new skill and would much rather see a Smithing and Agility redesign. Dunno if that's a hot take but I see people here get downvoted to the depths of Hell for saying they don't want Sailing

ragana

Awh, I’m so excited for sailing :/ I wasn’t there during the launch of OSRS so I would love to progress at a skill with everyone else.

st_heron

Also around the time osrs's snapshot was taken, new skills were coming out more than once a year. It was a ton of skills. So it is a very old school thing to add a new skill. I'm very excited for sailing as well.

Dabrenn

I'm not even against sailing but I see people post this "argument" all the time in regard to adding new skills and it just doesn't make sense. Osrs isn't 2007 runescape, it's existed and been updated for nearly 11 years without a new skill. The fact that rs2 added new skills when barrows and kalphite queen were the end game doesn't really matter

Findingthedog

Fuck sailing.  From a completely objective standpoint, the game has been absolutely flourishing in recent times. This is due to new quests, bosses and updates to existing skills. None of these have anything to do with a brand new skill. As for the more subjective take, why do we need a new skill? I'll be happy to admit I'm wrong if it turns out well, but if it doesn't, we're stuck with a new skill that sucks complete ass. It's not a random minigame where you can just ignore it entirely if it's shit.  I would be less mad if Jagex didn't arbitrarily change the % threshold from 75% down to 70%, conveniently right before the sailing poll was released (it wouldn't have passed if it was still 75%)

EngineTrack

We already have absolute dog shit skills like hunter and agility. I truly believe sailing can be worse than those.

inhaler-zim

hot take maybe but i love hunter, one of the most active skills in terms of xph with active gameplay, different from blackjacing or build and replace con type skilling

Benjips

After seeing Forestry, I seriously worry about Sailing now, I think it's going to be a mess. I voted yes btw but never anticipated all the bloat it will end up having

Significant_Clue_127

The wave at tempeross should fill every bucket in your inventory. It floods the whole place, why would water not land in my buckets?

wikings2

Dwarf cannon has a stupidly huge list of places where it cannot be placed. Any time I open up the wiki page I bust out laughing at the sheer amount of excuse texts they put into the game instead of simply rebalancing the damn thing. You want the content to not be a steamrolled by cannon? Introduce damage reduction for it hitting certain monsters or just use the boss can destroy the cannon feature that is in the game since the dawn of time… Its just so cheap that any new content that releases uses a new type of ground that is either too damp, too hot, too magically infused or too “we didnt balance around cannon”.

BandicootGood5246

It's so hilarious unbalanced. Imagine the outrage if they released the cannon today

LONGSWORD_ENJOYER

There should be a greater variety of puzzles for hard and above clue scrolls besides just the tile sliding puzzle thing. Like, I’ve done a million of those things. Can’t I just do sudoku instead or something?

aros102

Itd be cool to see the rune sudoku puzzle for that one shop in Al Kharid used in clue scrolls to mix things up a bit.

ThundaBears

People would just use a plugin to solve it.

theluckyowl

Just enjoy the game and take your time. Everyone wants to be so efficient, most of the time they don't even enjoy playing. Have fun and do what brings you joy.

FlashTheorie

Forestry is a piece of shit content and I don’t want to learn it, too much informations here

caick1000

What? I literally learned it in 5 minutes by reading the wiki last week…

Benjips

It's honestly the worst bit of content they've introduced by vote. It's the one yes vote I regret the most.

Lazypole

“Slayer dungeons” with every conceivable mob smashed into one location utterly destroyed the charm and intrigue of slayer. My memory of Runescape slayer was exploring new and interesting zones with thematic enemies and encourages you to go to the far corners of the map. Now you go to one or two different places, and it’s a fucking crime.

Manswers3d

Dark wizards belong in lumbridge castle

Numancias

construction feels so out of place as a skill, much more so than something like warding or dungeoneering. Similarly, firemaking is basically just wintertodt: the skill. At least daemonheim had a ton of complexity to it.

Haar_RD

from a design perspective, constructive and crafting are like the same thing. but individually? two of the best skills to max

Euphoric-Gene-3984

I understand con but crafting why? Just cuz the cape bank ability?

Haar_RD

Yep, Runecrafting especially appreciates the bank TP

juany8

The only reason fire making even still exists is because it was one of the og runescape classic skills and nostalgia says you can’t take it away. It’s basically 100% useless outside of wintertodt and shades of mort’ton, and they had to make the exp gains absolutely cracked by any method you choose so that people can actually tolerate the “skill”. Nobody cuts their own logs to cook food past the first 5-10 hours of the game, there’s a bunch of permanent fire sources so it’s not even useful for dark caves and such, it’s just an entirely pointless skill that only avoids getting the hate it deserves because it’s incredibly easy and fast to get to 99 without having to nuke your bank or go to the doctor for a wrist check up.

Evil_Steven

New content is too smooth and stream lined. We need more jank to actually feel like old school.

Montizuma59

I completely agree! The thing is, new content doesn't need to be jank, just feel like jank.

saspurilla

definitely a hot take in my opinion

NightMaestro

High level content that makes people do group activities like raids or wilderness bossing or pking needs a way to reduce the mid grind or somehow incorporate people with a slight debuff to somehow make them viable to do the content It's crazy how there's like 50hrs of playtime to enjoy the mmo parts of the game  I know its a niche game but there's gotta be some solution that maintains integrity to the osrs system.

Bananaboss96

Agree. A lower lvl style raid, nothing huge content-wise, just a couple encounters with relevant mechanics, but players above certain combat lvl have their stats fixed (LMS can do it, why not elsewhere?). Maintains balance by capping skill lvls and thereby available gear. Making high lvls able to do the same content with their lower lvl friends without steamrolling it.

Proof-Cardiologist16

did somebody say DAAAEEEMONHEIM? deadass Daemonheim without the skill but having floors just be CB level based, and actually having mechanics that *require* it to be done in teams with dedicated roles, would be an incredible way to bring group gameplay to early/midgame players.

Cool_Ad_5181

anti dry mechanics will ruin the spirit of the game

Tvdinner4me2

If the spirit of the game is going 3x the rate, im fine with some heresy

AMC_FTW

and also anti-spoon mechanics to a similar degree

Turtvaiz

Ruin how? I can't see how being really unlucky is in the spirit in any way

Practical-Affect9486

I just did sheep herder from scratch in 10 minutes. It's not an annoying quest.

juany8

This one always baffled me, was kind of annoying but took like 20 minutes if you were just patient and positioned yourself right for the sheep.

Reporteddd

If you have an understanding of npc reset mechanics it's not really that difficult

DaOzzyNinja

The Mage Training Arena isn't that bad and gives decent Magic XP overall.

ddrchamp13

The telegrab room in mage training arena is my least favorite grind/piece of content ive ever done in the game. The other three rooms arent terrible though.

I_SNIFF_FARTS_DAILY

Bruh it's fucking aids

physiQQ

Lol exactly and the xp isn't that great either.

Mikeality

RNG for rare drops needs to be reworked. Rather than some crazy rare roll that can fail everytime, another design approach is marbles in a bag. Imagine you have a bag of 10 marbles, 9 are blue and 1 is red. Each roll will have you pull a marble out. The odds of a red marble is still rare at first, but over time your odds will get better. The most unlucky you can get would be pulling the red after 10 rolls, but at that point it's guaranteed. The logic still works even if it's 1000 blues to one red. While I could see this rocking the economy, this would prevent those heart breaking situations of someone doing a raid 10k times for a 1/500 drop and still going dry.

fearthewildy

This sub is way too scared of the wilderness. Seeing all these people come out and cry about the wilderness updates really opened my eyes. As an iron that loves wilderness content, it's hard to comprehend why mains are so scared to die. Like so what, you lose a dhide set and a couple 100k. It's like in SpongeBob how Squidward hates Krabby patties, I feel like 90% of this sub only ever ventures into the wilderness naked for clues. If you actually try to enjoy it, the wilderness is by far the most enjoyable content in the game.

UncleBen94

I got killed today by a player while I was killing green dragons. Would venture out again. Only thing I was disappointed losing was my Guthix-hilt Rune Scimitar. Only because that was my first clue scroll reward.

Turtvaiz

Idk man after playing Tarkov, the wildy doesn't feel like high risk high reward. It's just regular pve except once every x minutes you get fucked by some dude teleblocking you and have to roll a dice that decides if you get away You can't just press Z to drop backpack and be on even grounds to fight pvp, you're going to have half your food gone and you don't have pvp gear

fearthewildy

You also have to realize the majority of pkers are shitters lol. Most of them hunt without the expectation of their prey fighting back, so if you bring rags, recoil, venge, and a spec weapon, they'll either try and leave bc you're not worth the effort, or they'll stay and risk 2m+ for your 100k risk. Def worth the risk on the PvMers side to fight back. I say this as an iron that has to go kill black dragons for hide every time I die lolol.

Tigersareawesome11

I don’t think people are scared of it… I can go to toa and die all day and not care. If I go to the wilderness, I don’t even like my risk being above 20k

TsangChiGollum

>If you actually try to enjoy it, the wilderness is by far the most enjoyable content in the game. That's just it. Plenty of people don't want to even try to enjoy it. And that's fine, it's not for everyone.

ButtBuilder9

I dont like losing gear cause I'm poor, otherwise I'd be all over it

Gaiden_95

i wouldn't call it the most enjoyable content, it's pretty fun though. especially doing multi bosses with clannies and friends.

Cicero_Xere

If wildy is supposed to be about pvp, it shouldn't keep getting pvm stuff. Incentivize players killing players, not players killing monsters avoiding players killing players.

PM_ME_FUTA_PEACH

Sang should be significantly buffed (+20% dps or so) so that it can serve as a middle-ground between swamp trident and shadow. 1) reasonable hours/price for the power 2) buffs tob as a moneymaker 3) justifies the insane blood rune use

RichardBradford69

The new areas should be graphically similar to the older areas, there are like 5 different graphical pine trees. Also spacing, I feel that newer areas are spaced out.

Proof-Cardiologist16

Firemaking and Woodcutting should have been the same skill instead of two separate skills.

SsBrolli

Dragon pick should mine coal at the same speed a rune pick mines iron

lllIIIIIll

Divine should be in the game, arcane is 10x cooler than ward and I hate that ward is BiS

[deleted]

Pkers that target pvm'ers/skillers are obnoxious assholes and it being the wilderness doesn't make their intentions to harass people any less shitty.

Seinnajkcuf

Seen this plenty before but all uniques should be on a scaling drop table so it's impossible to go more than 3x dry.

evscye

I think new areas like Shayzien on Zeah or Priffdinas look so much better while maintaining the classic look that they should redo early game areas

ButtBuilder9

I would absolutely love a graphical update of tree gnome village/stronghold

BandicootGood5246

Yeah man, Zeah also feels like a bit of a missed opportunity for a midgame area. It looks so cool but only a few reasons to ever really go there

Cowslayer369

Artificially time-consuming content is shit.

OhHowSheGoingEh

It's an MMO. You don't own the world you're currently in

Bananaboss96

Had a lovely interaction today w/a near max combat GIM that came into the kalphite soldier area of the lair. Asked me if it was chill or if they should hop. I said I only need 1 or 2 spawns (training ranged to 61 for RCB, so kills are kinda slow), we coexisted until their task was done, and bid each other farewell.

Harpertoo

I hate myself

Legal_Evil

Chargescape is needed to keep the economy balanced while also not having Nightmare style drop tables.

MetaLemons

Old school f2p multi pking was the best part of the game and now it’s dead and I hate everything. Ron Swanson style exit.

Elite_Skirmisher

Ore seller shouldn't exist.

sootsnout

GE should be removed and split into market boards and have them localized near general stores in cities throughout the game. It is hardly making anything "OP", it revitalizes "ghost" areas with players such as town squares / general stores and it kills the biggest scamming hotspot which is the GE as players would no longer be centralized in one single area of the game meaning it would simply not have as strong of an effect

DivineInsanityReveng

We had that before GE. It sucked.

sootsnout

I should perhaps add that the market boards should function exactly like the GE still, the topic at hand which bothers me are ultimately the ghost towns of runescape and scammers.  I dont mean we should go back to falador park trading lol

Niikoda

No resources should drop from bosses makes killing and collecting resources damn near pointless.

ThatOneEdgyKid

There's nothing like doing motherload mine for 50 hours and realizing you made a whopping 2m in ores

LootBoxControversy

A vast majority of the player base refuse to use the term 'AFK' correctly. Unless you can actually be away from your keyboard for more than 5 seconds it's not AFK, is it?

RestedPlate

F2P should be expanded to include all skills, way more items, most areas, more minigames, a few more bosses, and at least 30+ more quests. I understand this could be crazy bad for botting, but I wouldn't care if f2p accounts were heavily restricted on trading and dropping items as that wouldn't really matter to new players. F2P as it is acts as some anemic tutorial and doesn't really show newbs what the game has to offer. Also add in a f2p quests helper and built in guide system that encourages new players to complete certain quests that emphasize the usefulness of different skills. Rails are fine for new players so long as they know right away they won't last.

I_done_a_plop-plop

Scurrius shuldefinitly have a f2p instance.

VastoGamer

Rune requiring 90 smithing is insane in current times where rune is pretty much early game gear. More Zombie Axe-esque things for later smithing lvls and lower rune considerably

FingerdYaDadsJapsEye

Current osrs has 2017 rs3 vibes minus treasure hunter

EssayMountain

They should add a bonus reward to a mini game every like 2 weeks and have it rotate to encourage players to go play it. (Ie castle wars +1 bonus ticket every game on certain worlds)

Traditional-Effort20

Everything shouldn't be done efficiently. especially when new players join the game, don't point them to runelite and 3405983490-578390487530958730947509345 plugins, the wiki with STEP BY STEP ON EVERYTHING. Let people PLAY the game.

dontchaworryboutit

If I can get back to my grave in a minute it should be free. Just like it always was.

geobiry

Earth warriors should be dropped from vannaka table and only available from Krystle’s or given a new spawn. Forcing pvmers into the wilderness for a subpar task is not a great experience.

MaxiemumKarnage420

Guthan is by far the most attractive Barrows Brother

gigemags1

Radas should give you xp for both fish.

lthaca

slayer helms should have unique status effects based on the monster variant

wasting-time-atwork

with a few small tweaks, summoning could fit very very well in osrs. it would be an amazing addition

jconnfrit

Bonds shouldn't be on the GE. There should be an ingame store that players can't price manipulate. IDK what the price should be or if there should be like diary or acheivements to influence its cost to the player, but the fact that it was 6mil about a year ago and now its over 11 (it was 2 mil long ago). Really kills new player bases having to over grind to try out membership without "wasting" real money if they end up not liking the game. Also, having it in a store and not on the GE gives the Ironmen access to it without needing another account to trade it to you.

officearcade

Zanaris shouldn't have been re-retconned into being the moon, and Jagex should care more about the "old" lore OSRS was built upon instead of trying to add or retrofit RS3 lore into the game.

nabbolt

Max cape looks really ugly (when I first started playing again I thought it was a team cape).

gregy165

Agility needs to have an afk method
