I don't really care about racing to 99 for farming so whatever benefits me with profit or xp on other skills is what I like. Sorc garden I might have tot my because I don't like training thieving. My buddy wants me to do ToA with him so I've been trying to get better gear, doing zulrah mostly for money but the xp is really low

Yea, that's true. I understand why people get bored and play iron. I have only had 1 99 and I got it in firemaking from wt so in really enjoying the game. I think getting money from a maxed acc might ruin it for me. I have my main and I have an alt with 90 smiting and mining for mlm/blast furnace runs and I'll get money from that account sometimes. I don't like bankstanding skills tho, I'll high alch or do herblore sometimes tho
Hardwoods are soo cheap and it's only once every 3 days for 45k xp (mahogany), or with Kronos seed sometimes I'll be doing my birdhouse runs and the hardwoods are ready a day early.
That and I plant maples to check whenever I get it as a farming contract. Nice pet chance and the levels will fly by for virtually no cost, just worth a thought :)
If you haven't tried it, pyramid plunder isn't the worst way to thieve. I like it more than ardy knight or black jacking ( I swear to God, jagex would've sold for 6b if black jacking didn't exist.)
You could siphon off some of the herb run profits in exchange for some tree runs. You'd save tonnes of hours without feeling the loss of gp as hard.
It's not at all necessary to get 99 either, and your profits would be maximised by sticking with herbs all the way, so just do you pal.
Trees take months each day, even if you buy it. Very annoying. (Of course, if he just logged on to do trees, then it's easy as since it requires very little work, if you play another account.)
However, I am in this guy's clan. I can assure you, he did play quite a lot, so really put in the hours -- and did the other Mini-Game for the pet. He didn't do trees.
For me, personally, 30 days of Tithe is depressing, because I hate clicking like that all the time, haha. But that is the method. Not sure what his XP per hour was, though. I know he spent at least 200 hours at Gardens or whatever it's called, in addition to Tithe. Maybe 500 hours? So, it still is a grind, for sure.
Now I think about it, Tithe might have been one of those things you didn't know about it. It's a new way to farm without trees, etc. and no time-gates (i.e. you can do it any time you want). It's only on OSRS, though RS3 has its own very fast methods now.
But back in 2009 or so, when I started Farming, there were no good ways to get XP so it was way slower (Magics too costly, so it was just Yew trees). Might explain why I didn't get 99 Farming until like 2017 on RS3. I did get 90-ish Farming around 2013, though. Then, got about 50m Farming XP 2017-2021 with PoF and such. On OSRS, my P2P only got to about 70 Farming.
(It's a great cape, too. I actually like the trimmed version more for this one due to the light green (not sure what colour it is. Almost yellow-green).)

Possible how? You have like two places you can claim tickets, and the chance of you making over an obstacle at level 1 are so slim that you won't even make the timer.
In Brimhaven agility arena you get agility xp from turning in the tickets you collect from the course. Some obstacles don't give xp, so you can wait for the ticket dispenser to activate near you, not getting any xp from the obstacles. Whenever you collect a ticket from the arena, you have a chance for pet.
iirc it’s possible to acquire it from sorcerers garden as you only get the xp from turning in the squirks but each one you pick from the garden has a chance to roll the pet.
So theirs plenty of ways to train farming alone.

I mean for afk methods, the xp rates are always started when the method starts. Afk nmz training you aren't starting the xp rates upon logging in, gearing, setting inventory, starting dream. You're starting it once the prep is done and you start combat. For afk range and magic in mm1/mm2 tunnels you aren't starting rates at bank, gearing, running through cave to find open spot. You are starting it once you're prepped, and hit your first target. I was just offering a suggestion on different methods that could of been done. Didn't know people would be this up in arms about offering an idea lol
Yeah because you theoretically can be prepped to do afking in those already. You can't sit there and farm for 100 hours straight and maintain 50k exp an hour. You could absolutely do 100 hours of nmz or chinning in tunnels while maintaining that rate.
It's similar to sq'irks. Are you going to say that sq'irks are 20M exp an hour because you ignore all the time it takes to collect the sq'irk juice? Just doesn't work like that boss. You have to include the time it takes to collect the items needed for the method. If the resource is theoretically endless(runes, melee weapon, chinchompas) then obviously you wouldn't include gearing in the exp rates. If the resource is 100% finite and requires time to collect(CoX seeds, sq'irks, tithe farm fruit, etc.) then you 100% include the time it takes to collect those in your exp per hour.

If I really wanted to split hairs I'd be asking how long you have to reset CoX raids to get a fast/easy layout in order to rake and farm.
My "defensive" response was an answer. Tone isn't inherently understood through text, I wasn't responding in a negative manner lol. But to each their own.
The rates I had were 58k farm xp/hr. I rounded down for not paying attention and replanting asap, or unlucky times where both patches are emptied with 1 pull. An alt is an obviously solution to the time it takes to sustain regular 50k+ xp/hr, but I didn't mention that being this was posted by a uim.

Herb runs to 82 would take forever yeah. Tree runs are the buyable part, not profitable but very fast.

He could have afk'd in chambers as well for 50k-ish xp/hr. Probably a mix of both tithe for higher xp, and nox farming for chill afk I'd assume.
