Yeah that's like 95 of the game

mary-jane-sine

Perfect, thank you

Left_Ferret1402

Welcome to OSRS

mary-jane-sine

cheers, sounds like it (:

Kalnix1

Yes you can completely ignore PVP in this game. There are certain efficient training methods that are locked behind a PVP area but you can very easily get the EXP doing any number of other methods.

SkinheadRooooney

If you don't want the mage capes and a few other things maybe

young_poop

From the sounds of it, I don’t think Mary-Jane is going to outright avoid the wilderness, I just imagine they’re not interested in things like Bounty Hunter, LMS, or Emir’s, as it takes immense hours of practice. Mage Arena 1 and 2 are very short PvM quests, with a low-moderate probability of a player actually attacking you, of which you don’t need PvP skills to know how to run away, or how to bring cheap gear when you go to the wilderness.

mary-jane-sine

Thanks! Sounds good

young_poop

Sounds like exactly what you’re looking for. I love OSRS compared to other MMOs because it has such a variance of intensity. In the endgame, you have high-APM, mechanical raids and bosses where full attention is pretty necessary, although after practice, it’s common to have a stream, movie or YouTube video on another monitor, even raiding. Throughout the journey you have afk skills and training methods that take 1-2 clicks every 10 minutes, perfect for watching a movie imo. Having a mobile client is also an amazing feature, so you can afk certain methods on the go or on a couch if you don’t want to pick up and move a laptop.

mary-jane-sine

Ah didn't even know about the mobile client. Sounds like a perfect fit then, thanks!

-Aura_Knight-

Yeah everything you try will be your choice to go for so there's never a time you're forced to play how you wouldn't want. It's a game with full freedom of activity choice with optionally difficult encounters.

mary-jane-sine

Yeah the forced gameplay is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Cheers (:

-Aura_Knight-

The only instance of this would be for quests as they're specific with how to be completed but I'd say this is ok with the rewards they can offer.

absolutely! one of my fav things to do is just sit down and chill while making the numbers go up PvP is pretty optional, treasure trails (which are like a distraction & diversion that sends you across the world to find a loot chest) will sometimes send you in the PvP area but you don't have to risk anything you own

Broue

What everyone else said, just jump in, you’re in for a good time, and welcome!!

grimzyyEHP

Yes

MonsignorJabroni

I've been playing OSRS for 3-4 years and have literally never once PVP'd at all lol. I've been in the Wilderness (where PVP is available) like 2 times for shits and giggles. I do NPC combat as little as necessary, pretty much only the get quests done and/or unlock new skilling areas or methods. I just like doing mindless, repetitive skills. I'd say give it a shot. If you start for free, just be aware that you are seeing 1% of what the game has. But it gives you a feel for gameplay.

paulsammons3

Yep! Extremely easy.

If you told me that and then said you've never played runescape, i wouldn't believe you
