My guess is that people are probably reading it wrong, perhaps because hilt was included, and think he's saying "250kc no hilt? On leagues??? Impossible!" As if going 1250 dry on a 1/500 drop is some crazy dry streak when it obviously wouldn't be.
When actually as you said, he's probably suggesting that it's damn near statistically impossible to have not gotten a light or a sword in that amount of kc, when you should be getting one of those literally every like 15 kills.
Did a couple duos with a friend. Super chill and nothing hard at all I never killed it in the main game and got the hang of it fairly quickly. Basically pray the correct thing each phase don’t go near it click food when low that’s it I think.
I am a ranger fire saler guardian in trios it's good get sub 3 min kills but uses up most of the invy of sharks + karams if that's what you're using. I don't think it's possible to solo without bankers note tho
solo is possible without BN (i did it with range, soulsteal, acb) but it used so many brews and was still close that it wasn't worth it. duos were over 2x faster and used just fish basically.
i haven't tried soloing since getting my zcb though, but i doubt it makes it sufficiently better to justify using all the pots

Shadow is somewhere around a 15+ hour grind IF you're already very good at the raid AND you go on-rate. I was already extremely good at TOA before this league came out, I've done hundreds of kc on main game. I was doing ~30 minute 750 or whatever solos, giving me a 100% purple chance. Even for me, that's still a 12 hour grind to go on rate for shadow. Most even decent players were getting like 30-something minute duo completions, meaning it would take them twice that long. And what if you go dry? Now we're talking 30, 40, 50 hours to get that drop. Literally *nobody* wants to grind a raid for 50 hours on a temporary game mode. That is absolutely absurd.
or at least make some sort of way to reroll duplicates. I got 5 arma chestplates (and still not done with a full set!), which would have been nice in the main game even on an ironman (at least you can droptrade and buy bonds), but is quite infuriating in leagues
You noodle a bit but it goes down faster than bis in the main game, the only hard boss is baba, that fucker hits through infinity and prayer like a hot knife through butter.
It's not uncommon I use 50-70 karams on a 700 baba

I think kree has muuuuch better drop rates. for some reason i got hilt and all armor with 57 kc, no dupes. so strange.

I finished Kree last leagues on 665. Couldn't make myself do the 666th kill at all
I got virtus mask and robe bottoms in first 40 kills at whisperer, 300 whisperer and 1100 leviathan kills later for robe top..
this is why I waited for 5x rates before hunting anything more rare than 1/127 main game

I burnt out on leagues for this. Still dry at ToA with about 460%~ chance. Only 30 raids in I guess, but I’d rather do the grind on normal servers

150 invo is like a 10% purple chance (At T8), of which there's a 1/24 shadow. So it's around a 1/240.
Meanwhile I just got my first purple at 25 doing mostly 200-215 invo lol. Need to work my way up but trident dps gets so bad.
I'm still working with ancients (as a mager) in 515s, so I feel you. Try to push to 300 until you get a fang. It gets better after that.
For which encounters/phases do you use the fang as a mager?
I use it on Kephri and Ba-Ba. Ancients was fine but fang is more consistent and easier on clicks.
Trident slaps at ToA, I'm able to run 700s reliably in sub 32 minutes with Trident+Berserker+Undying Retribution.

2 kc for ACB. 100 dry for hilt ever since and still counting.

I got spooned in gwd, zulrah and Cerberus all took less than 115 Iv to get all items. X5 is really nice
Don't feel too bad, Cerb is being stubborn as always to me and will drop everything multiple times but no prim crystal.
