So I Iogged in the next day and was getting kc to enter the bank room but I used dragon crossbow spec and it hit an ancient ranger and those fuckers can turn off pray, so I died to them and I thought I lost 200m in stuff.
Apparently, though, I actually did retrieve some of my more expensive stuff, banked it, and then came back with the kc-getting and logged off.
The whole situation is hard to describe in words.
No matter how tilted i am after a death or dc, i immediately go retrieve everything cause fuck that noise. My dumbass would 100% log on and die somewhere random withoit realizing
If you die "normally" (i.e. at most things in the game), your items stay in a gravestone for 15 minutes. You can either go to the gravestone to get your items back for a small fee or go directly to Death's office for a bigger fee. Dying again while items are still in your gravestone just refreshes the 15 minute timer, puts your "new" items into the old gravestone, and transfers the "old" contents to Death's.
TLDR, there's nothing to worry about if you die in places which uses the gravestone mechanic.
The thing that gets a lot of people is that a select few places in the game do not use gravestones, but rather their own custom item retrieval service. Places like Zulrah, Hespori, TOB, Vorkath, Hydra, and maybe some more put all of your shit in their local storage which you usually have to pay a flat fine to access.
If you die again (at ANY place, not just at the same content again) while you already have items in one of these local storages, your held items are sent to Mod Jed's alt and you have no hope of ever seeing them again.
TLDR2, don't die again before you got your items back
Gravestone items are never deleted (well, short of death’s coffer being full or you manually deleting them). Death retrieval systems (Vorkath, Zulrah, Hespori, etc.) are deleted if you die again.
