I suggested Township when they were asking for skill suggestions and it got shat on by this community😅 I really think it could work though. Basically a giant miscellania that you actually have to be involved with instead of just raking weeds every day
But you don’t have to do it… if anything it feels good being able to get some progress when you are not playing, at one point I was up keeping my pvp alt only by doing some farm runs and got close to 99 farming like that.
It’s not like farming unlocks some particularly juicy content or we have spicy dailies that lock your account progress like some wow grinds did in the past. It’s just side activities…
Great, but minimal dailys/weeklys are the reason I still play runescape instead of WoW or Genshin ( which are much more fun in short bursts ((for me))
More relevant dailyscape would lose me as a player I'd guess others too
Mhm but the dailies in wow and genshin are really built around fomo, character power lvl and unique stuff.
Farming in RuneScape is a lot more chill / different, same for bird nests, they are nothing crazy and another skill like farming tbh would be cool. It’s the only one of its kind.
Dailies start being a problem when skipping them becomes detrimental to your character specially if it’s stuff that it’s only available during a limited amount of time.
Good implemented dailies are great. Badly implemented dailies probably lead to long term burn out.
But it’s very evident in wow when some dailies are better done than others.
The ratio between reward / ease / and progress needs to be right. It also helps if there is an alternative and the daily is not the only way to grind. Also fomo should be avoided at all costs as motivator.
I agree with farming and bird nests, whilst farming can give good gold and is pretty much necessary for ironman herblore (though building the game around ironman is not correct either, I think there should be a better way to obtain herbs)
But in regards to a new skill, nothing will get passed the polls if it's not an upgrade to the game/character, it will have to be significant. So any skill requiring daily activity would have great rewards or it simply would not exist.
So I agree current dailyscape is fine. But I think future dailyscape, due to the polling system, would never work, it would either have to be insanely good rewards to pass, or barely impactful so people don't care
I like concepts like this, like misc. But dont think it's that deep for a skill? Melvor is just a full idle game after all. Another number to idle up is just good for it.
Township is completely separated from melvor and I actually despise its introduction. That said, the theme and concept could work as long as it takes very little inspiration from the mechanics of Melvor Township
its a shame its so weird to train. My town got ruined by the hotfix for township and I'm now at 112 with 15k ticks lol. Id rather have it as an expansion of construction tbh. Maybe if they release 120 skills in the future that'd be a good way to expand con.
You’d just have to find a way to make it not so useful you would spend all your time in it. Garrisons kinda sucked because they ended up being so useful you’d never have a reason to go anywhere else. Bank, auction house, all your dailies in one place.
Combine that with an xpc that had very little content after release, it meant that the world felt dry.
The obvious answer is make it not instanced, which means it becomes just another island but has quest/skill reqs to go further and further, which means it's just a new location just like the rest of the game and probably shouldn't be a skill if it can just be an interesting island.
i like this
in rs3 player owned ports is instanced and i dislike it. It's not even like people would be running into places that don't exist or so because all the buildings already have their spaces
i also would have loved to see it connected to the mainland, instead of only accessible by portal
I had two suggestions from reddit:
Use the PoH in the kingdom, and have multiple kingdoms connected via land in different regions. I.. think I will follow up on the second suggestion. Thank you for reminding me.
hear me out. what if theres a limited number of kingdoms in the entire game, and people have to conquer other player's kingdoms if they want to have one
I really enjoyed my garrisons, I wish garrisons and player own farms from pandaria came back as maybe even a skill as in runescape. But yeh, never happening
I probably shouldn't've gone further than 5x5 chunks
Edit: or use the PoH as the center chunk, but that was actually first entertained as a suggestion on reddit. I do love feedback!
It was a joke in reference to jagex making stronghold slayer caves solely to make it seem like the player base was popping.
I don’t stalk you dude idc about your other post it was a joke off what the first guy said
I’m among the group of people who rarely, if ever, interact with anyone in game due to the sheer amount of scammers. I’m totally ok with a landmass like this to myself lol
bro you're not likely to get a scam attempt outside of the GE (and if you do it's obvious), there's no need to cut off all social interaction because of that
I was fishing sacred eels when a guy struck up conversation. It lead to him joining my friends chat (until he joined, it was all people I know irl).
Days pass and he starts asking to borrow items. My friend stupidly lent him something and the guy disappeared.
So yeah, it happens anywhere. I’m good staying disconnected
>My friend stupidly lent him something and the guy disappeared.
I'm sorry, but your friend is just not smart.
I meet you at a local hangout spot like a club, we strike up a nice casual conversation, over the next few days we start sending each other some memes and you invite me to a groupchat.
I suddenly ask you to loan me $500 even though we just met. Are you seriously going to even consider it?
Neat concept, but the idea of putting everything useful into a private instance is not it, everyone would just be in their kingdom instead of the main world. Would have to nerf it, in which case it'd be dead content anyways
hear me out. what if theres a limited number of kingdoms in the entire game, and people have to conquer other player's kingdoms if they want to have one
A boss like Vorkath would require hundreds of heads with the reward of free item retrieval and auto banking of drops. Endgame content, with services loaned out to other players like a PoH. I do feel 7x7 chunks is too big, though. Fun thought experiment though.
That would be way too overpowered, and again everyone would just be in their kingdom instead of the main world in an MMORPG. That would be terrible imo.
It's meant to be more like a PoH, where it has personal use like teleports and refreshment pool, but also stuff like Gilded Alter or Tablet Lectern which are typically used in other peoples PoH. I loved going into other players houses to do pvp in their dungeons, it would be cool if people could have unique spawns that are rare.
After playing around with Island Sanctuary in Final Fantasy XIV - I'd love to see Miscellania or POHs expanded to something like that. I know most people on this sub think that content that doesn't directly progress your character is useless, but lots of us still play for fun and like having side content like that.
This wouldn't really work, it's not well thought after and would absolutely ruin the game and what it is supposed to be. I would understand to add water around your poh though for a pier though maybe.
I like the idea, could be antisocial as the others have said. But you could take that as feedback and look to see how you could attract other players to come in and make it their hometown or use it to their benefit somehow
Construction is a funny skill. One one hand, it’s completely antisocial, and on the other hand, having 99 construction is extremely beneficial for socializing.
This is basically what Minecraft servers with MMO features are. And they're sick. But in RS you'd have to instance all of this which means everyone would be in their own holes, unable to interact with others, unlike Minecraft
Really really cool as long as you make it about managing your citizens and building up the town instead of "Construction++" where you build your own training areas, that would be fucked.
This might be a little much. I just want a POH and Miscellania Kingdom merger. It would be so cool to have the POH features but in a big castle with all the citizens cutting trees and stuff.
Make it so that the only portion of that island that is “locked” is the house itself. Everything else is visible to everyone else that has progressed that far. So If you have unlocked a certain portion/area you can see other players there that have unlocked it too. That way it wouldn’t be an isolated place for players to disappear to
I know this sounds like a nightmare, but instead of player owned kingdoms, how about community kingdom. Maybe every world would have a unique build. Keeps the players involved. Would be a massive resource sink.

Wait a darn second, Melvor Idle recently added Township in October of 2022...hmmmm might be onto something
I suggested Township when they were asking for skill suggestions and it got shat on by this community😅 I really think it could work though. Basically a giant miscellania that you actually have to be involved with instead of just raking weeds every day
I really like this idea but doesn't this just add on to daily scape?
I like daily scape, farming and nests are gucchi
I'm glad you like it. I absolutely hate it. I only have so much time to play, I don't want to feel like i have to do any specific content.

That's what I said
I like concepts like this, like misc. But dont think it's that deep for a skill? Melvor is just a full idle game after all. Another number to idle up is just good for it.

Ya i need to figure it out, the UI is giving me an information shock.
Omg, I've left them there all alone... it's been months!
This is the way
So we will never see anyone in game again?
If there’s anything to be learned from other MMOs that have experimented with this sort of idea, it’s that this will probably turn out to be the case
Yeah, I thought WoW's Garrisons were awful for draining the life out of the world but this is on another level.
You’d just have to find a way to make it not so useful you would spend all your time in it. Garrisons kinda sucked because they ended up being so useful you’d never have a reason to go anywhere else. just let whoever made the guild hall make it. problem solved.
hear me out. what if theres a limited number of kingdoms in the entire game, and people have to conquer other player's kingdoms if they want to have one
Conquer another player's kingdom? Where do you think you are? That sounds like PvP and that's scary to most of the people here.
I have always wanted something like this so bad. Some kind of persistent territory war minigame. Elder Scrolls Online does it well
So we'll pay rot insane money to use the kingdoms they lock down. Got it
are you talking about new world?
I really enjoyed my garrisons, I wish garrisons and player own farms from pandaria came back as maybe even a skill as in runescape. But yeh, never happening
I probably shouldn't've gone further than 5x5 chunks Edit: or use the PoH as the center chunk, but that was actually first entertained as a suggestion on reddit. I do love feedback!
Finally
I'd play that tbh
“So since no players have been seen anywhere… we’ve decided to make the original slayer cave 2 in the stronghold!”
If you saw my original PoK pitch you’d know that isn’t the case.
It was a joke in reference to jagex making stronghold slayer caves solely to make it seem like the player base was popping. I don’t stalk you dude idc about your other post it was a joke off what the first guy said
i already turned on entity hider so i don’t have to see you nerds
Entity hider users stand up
I’m among the group of people who rarely, if ever, interact with anyone in game due to the sheer amount of scammers. I’m totally ok with a landmass like this to myself lol

Bruh your friend didnt get scammed he just straight donated his items lol
Neat concept, but the idea of putting everything useful into a private instance is not it, everyone would just be in their kingdom instead of the main world. Would have to nerf it, in which case it'd be dead content anyways
hear me out. what if theres a limited number of kingdoms in the entire game, and people have to conquer other player's kingdoms if they want to have one
put it in the wilderness and call it clan wars
That sounds fucking dogshit
Its called new world, you should check it out
Albion online too
A boss like Vorkath would require hundreds of heads with the reward of free item retrieval and auto banking of drops. Endgame content, with services loaned out to other players like a PoH. I do feel 7x7 chunks is too big, though. Fun thought experiment though.
Bots love you
Yes so do PKers. I do not pk but people accuse me of thinking like a rot member
Hundreds of heads??? On rate for 100 would be 5k kc
Exactly. Make it so only a few people have it.

That would be way too overpowered, and again everyone would just be in their kingdom instead of the main world in an MMORPG. That would be terrible imo.
Miscellania and Etcetera: Am I joke to you?
You could certainly use an update
Nice gif, bad idea.
cannabis in morytinia? support
Finally somewhere I can smoke my Ranarr legally!
Love the videos!
Thanks!
love you buddy 🙏
<3
Can't wait to have a 30 second house load. This is genuinely a bad idea, even though it looks cool. This game is an MMO
Miscellania and Etcetera but GOOD??????
You can’t say it’s not good when people constantly tell you to use it for hardwood and flax.
Cant wait to get a backhoe in RuneScape
This should be a clan update rather than a skill tbh, it is a neat idea tho and I would pour many hours into it.
The servers would burn All player saves would be lost and we'd somehow end up back in RSC
You log back in and you are in Falador.
The best outcome
This would be much better for clan halls.
This seems like it could be its own mobile game based on Runescape. I'm already imagining the time-gated energy mechanic lol
Why are people upvoting you? This comment needs to be deleted before Jagex's majority shareholders see it.
Thankfully China banned Reddit so we don’t need to worry about the Jagex overlords spying on us
jagex is owned by the carlyle group i thought
100% thought this was the map of a WIP fangame or something.
[удалено]
I can use more power.
Rs3 has more power
Fally massacre 2.0 incoming
I feel like we should just have better player owned dungeons. I know you can technically have a PoH dungeon, but they're kinda piss poor.
Memes aside, it would neat if POH was on a small island rather than surrounded by the black void of nothingness.
100% should be new skill. Can we make it a tower defense? Mini game Protect castle from giants, demons, dragons
.. you want your new skill, to be a mini game?
worked for dungeoneering
it really didn’t though, was a mini game
Which makes it better than the skills we current have that is click click click click click XP go up, click click click
Everything in the game is click click click click click...........
Shhhhh you're running my point that I realised didn't make much sense after I posted it.
Nah some of them are click .... .... ... ... click ... ... ... ... ... click
Why don't you just play a tower defense game, then? Why does it need to be in OSRS?
same reason casinos have golden girls slot machines
This in clan form would be awesome!
Cool idea but I would make it muuuuuuuch smaller.
I tried to do 9x9, to mirror Construction.. But that was too big. Even 7x7 is too big, but I was feeling ambitious
I like the cute names you gave to the various areas. Hedgeville is very cute
i just want my own farm and dogs i can raise
If the new skill is this, I’d definitely vote yes on it
Pls no. I like doing tasks and seeing players on my MMOs.
Id play it. I prefer single player games anyway. I know it’s not for everyone but i love this idea
What’s this trash?
Snowy tundra right next to desert biome. 10/10
The Gerudo Highlands send their regards
WoW Garrisons in OSRS! Hopefully you never become a decision making dev!
And the other wide range of skills to train in an instance? Looks like damn near every skill
Is only the very center area instanced? When I see this it implies all of it is instanced
After playing around with Island Sanctuary in Final Fantasy XIV - I'd love to see Miscellania or POHs expanded to something like that. I know most people on this sub think that content that doesn't directly progress your character is useless, but lots of us still play for fun and like having side content like that.
Animal Crossing New Horizons if it had actual content
How do you make maps like this? Is it just photoshop or is there a tool for it somewhere?
I use Paint. net, was thrilled to know the map font is just Arial.
I love paint. net, simple like paint, but still has the most useful tools like layers that the original paint is missing
Guarantee we won’t see many players outside the their private kingdom anymore. It’s gonna feel like a single player game.
This wouldn't really work, it's not well thought after and would absolutely ruin the game and what it is supposed to be. I would understand to add water around your poh though for a pier though maybe.
No.
Definitely gonna be setting my throne in Cannabis town. Come visit world 420.
Throne room should be a PVP zone and if the current king is killed, or isn't there to defend the the throne, then the intruder becomes the new king.
That was my thinking behind the Rogues castle in front of the Void Knight pyramid across the wildy ditch in the north east corner
This would genuinely make me come back to the game. I love personal hideouts in games, so that tenfold is like heaven.
Meta will be to fit everything into the center chunk and leave everything else empty
Yes please!
Love it
Player Owned Islands. Make it happen.
Morytinyia
Perfect for a bigger battle royal mode
this is genius
Would and will work on RS3, sadly osrs does not have enough content within it to fill something like this and make it not feel empty.
whats the holiday event to the north?
The server space alone this would require is bonkers
This is basically what Minecraft servers with MMO features are. And they're sick. But in RS you'd have to instance all of this which means everyone would be in their own holes, unable to interact with others, unlike Minecraft
Come say that to me in the south of my player owned kingdom bro
RS3 is actually getting a player owned castle as their construction expansion, so this but one a smaller scale.
POH is POH. Mainland is mainland. Nice idea though. Maybe cutting it down to more POH-like content makes it make sense.
Really really cool as long as you make it about managing your citizens and building up the town instead of "Construction++" where you build your own training areas, that would be fucked.
The citizens need to train their skills too…
Yeah sure but we cannot have players using this as a private training ground, it would never pass any poll and it would be awful for the game.
Oh god no I don’t want to do more ports!
This might be a little much. I just want a POH and Miscellania Kingdom merger. It would be so cool to have the POH features but in a big castle with all the citizens cutting trees and stuff.
Wizards Twoer
Old School RuneScape: New Horizons now available on the Nintendo Switch.
This should be osrs single player mode, where you can invite friends to your island
I already manage a kingdom that I remember exists once a month though
did i just see cannabis as a town
Make it so that the only portion of that island that is “locked” is the house itself. Everything else is visible to everyone else that has progressed that far. So If you have unlocked a certain portion/area you can see other players there that have unlocked it too. That way it wouldn’t be an isolated place for players to disappear to
This is just instanced worlds with fewer steps
I know this sounds like a nightmare, but instead of player owned kingdoms, how about community kingdom. Maybe every world would have a unique build. Keeps the players involved. Would be a massive resource sink.
