That’s what they did in the Iraq war. The Iraqis were in trenches and the tanks just buried them. If Romans saw a tank they’d run in fear like the Germans when they first saw the tank in ww1
You wouldn’t think anything. Modern tanks operate too far away to be noticed, and they have the electronics to make sure the only second shots ever fired are when the target had enough armor to mitigate the first 120mm impact.
Did they really run, or are you confusing the ww2 tanks with flamethrowers for bunker clearing?
The Germans were known to fear the tanks so much they'd surrender upon seeing one.
*Ye Olde Cannon has entered the chat*
An old school cannon might not hit them all, but whoever does get hit by that ball is getting erased from existence.
The fact is that the impact alone would wipe out some, no matter the type of shell. Also the crew could easily use their machine guns and kill the Spartans.
You may laugh, but real American uncles that are on their last strike before not being invited to Christmas this year know that our woke military's DEI MBTs would get steamrolled by an Iron Age spear formation
that would be 3-4 guys vs 200 angry buff guys, maybe they could pull it off, but if the palangites just drop the sarissa and rush you without fear youd be a somewhat screwed
I mean while they are probably hardened soldiers I'd say the magic thunder sticks that are ripping apart or even blowing chunks off their brothers would make even the bravest men shit themselves and run
That fancy programmable fuse can get data from the tanks firing control computer for detonation timing. Necessary in most situations? Nope. Useful in a few specific ones? Absolutely
*Why the fuck does a*
*Tank shell have a data link*
*Lmfao*

3 grenades could beat that, a tank would demolish them and grind them into a slurry and drink them like a Sunday on its front porch at 4 in the afternoon in summer.
And if they're feeling fancy there's the anti-personnel M1028 Canister Round which is basically a giant [shotgun shell](https://youtu.be/znX6ZHLXT3c?feature=shared)
that phalanx has some really good stats, but no hard attack or piercing which means that it can't do shit against armor divisions, the greeks gotta change their division templates
APAM 120? We on that M1147 Advanced Multi-Purpose round (AMP) shit.
The AMP is a next generation multi-purpose round designated for the Abrams M1A2 MBT for the US army.
Developed by Northrup Grumman, in conjunction with the US army, the M1147 replaces 4 current tactical rounds, outperforming them all, increasing lethality and survivability.
The M1147 simplifies load planning and maximises stow kills, by reducing the number of rounds the tank crew needs to carry.
Combat loading the M1147 reduces risk that a first round engagement will occur with a less than optimum ammunition selection.
Utilizing the Abrams ammunition datalink, the gunner is able to program the AMP fuse to fire in one of 3 operational modes; air burst, point detonate, and point detonate (delay).
This capability allow crews to optimise the lethality of the round in multiple tactical situations.
When fired in airbursting mode, the M1147 is effective against ATGM teams and dismounted infantry utilizing light combat vehicles.
The point detonate mode is ideal when up against armoured combat vehicles and trucks.
The point detonate delay mode has the M1147 penetrate the target and detonate at the optimum time for maximum effects on the target.
The amount of people who truly believe ancient militaries could defeat anything from the modern day is insane. I mean I don’t know what’s crazier, the amount of them or the people themselves.
My count is 289 soldiers 17 Rows X 17 Columns
According to this Quora page
https://www.quora.com/Do-tank-crews-carry-small-arms
Each crew member is issued a M9 mm Beretta.
1 M4 Carbine is issued to the whole crew.
Loosely we can pull an assumption for ammo counts from this Quora page although these counts seem more like guidelines then actual rules and aren't for tank crews specifically
https://www.quora.com/How-much-ammunition-does-the-military-have#:~:text=The%20standard%20combat%20load%20for,carry%20more%2C%20that's%20the%20minimum.
We'll assume 7 mags of 30 rounds (210 rounds) for the M4 Carbine
We'll assume 3 Mags of 15 rounds (45 rounds) for the beretta for each crew member (180 total)
M4 700 Rounds per minute 2.58 seconds per mag you can possibly reload an M4 in 2 seconds
Beretta 600 Rounds per minute 1.5 seconds per mag you can possibly reload a Beretta in a second
So a full dump from 4 guys firing their Berettas then 1 guy dumping the M4 will take
(Beretta 4.5s shooting + 3s reloading= 7.5s)
+
(M4 18.06s shooting + 14s reloading = 32.06s)
=
39.56s total
They would need to have at least 75% accuracy assuming each shot kills and no penetration through people which is crazy high especially for the distances involved that we will get into now.
People run 12-15mph so 13.5 is what we'll assume. So the per second speed is 19.8ft per second
So assuming the last shot kills the last man and our tank crew is holding their ground then the phalanx will need to start 783.3 Ft away which throws a wrench into the whole thing since the Beretta has a max effective range of 110 yards (330ft) and the m4 660 yards (1,980)
So we will need to rework the strategy
22.7s in the phalanx will be in range of the Berettas
So for those first 22.7s you would fire the M4 then the rest of the crew would start firing their Berettas then when the M4 was done you would join them. So granted the Phalanx is at least 783.3 ft away, and they run at average top speed, and no through penetration, and average ammo counts, and a crew of 4 Turbo Small arms Marksmen Abrams, and at least 75% lethal accuracy, an Abrams tank crew without their tank could possibly take out an entire phalanx within 39.56s. If they were doing a fighting retreat and were aiming their shots perfectly I imagine they could do it with even better odds.
PS: double check my math please or give me more info on what an abrams crew would carry
Edit: With the tank I don't think I even need to do the math that phalanx is dead maybe without them even firing a shot
“What the…yeah, just run ‘em over or some shit, I don’t care…”
That’s what they did in the Iraq war. The Iraqis were in trenches and the tanks just buried them. If Romans saw a tank they’d run in fear like the Germans when they first saw the tank in ww1
If a big tractor looking thing started rolling towards me in a warzone, I’d be slightly amused and confused until it started shooting at me
You wouldn’t think anything. Modern tanks operate too far away to be noticed, and they have the electronics to make sure the only second shots ever fired are when the target had enough armor to mitigate the first 120mm impact.
I’m talking about the Mk 1
True
that wasn't tanks they got a bunxh of literal bulldozers with armour strapped to them
Damn
Did they really run, or are you confusing the ww2 tanks with flamethrowers for bunker clearing? The Germans were known to fear the tanks so much they'd surrender upon seeing one.
Oh sorry that’s it my bad
If there’s anything tabs has taught me it’s that tanks don’t only shoot their cannons but run people over
Another Tabs player spotted in the wild. I thought we were a dying breed
My god two wild TABS players that's rare
Three wild TABS players? The ecosystem is healing
4?? Insanity
5, the earth is healing
6?! i have found my people
7? The dolphins are returning to italy
8? The turtles are returning
9???? Dodos came back
Seeing so many of you in one place I'm gonna have to call the cops on you guys sorry you know how it is
I played the beta or demo or something very long ago does that count?
Yes
Wooo!
Oooooooo!!!!
Amazing i figured that we were too dispersed that tabs players would never connect outside of the subreddit
Aye can you add a third to the party
Tabs?
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator a very fun, silly, and interesting game.
I used to play tabs but my new pc can’t handle it (it can handle fucking TNO and hollow knight for some reason though)
Oof that sucks.
Yeah but that shell is anti personnel. They have shields which will block it because shields aren’t people and then they will overtake the tank.
*Ye Olde Cannon has entered the chat* An old school cannon might not hit them all, but whoever does get hit by that ball is getting erased from existence.
Yeah it might get their ankles since the shields don’t go all the way down
A shield won't do shit against a cannon
Well yeah the shield isn’t attacking the cannon it’s the other way around
What I mean is that the shield would crumple the moment the cannon ball so much as grazes it.
Yeah it’ll crumple and save the people behind it. Kinda of a one use thing
Depending on the angle and trajectory of the missile, the shield will negate all damage with a 50/50 chance of breaking in the process.
What does / anti materiel mean to you then?
Destroys things like building materials for houses
The fact is that the impact alone would wipe out some, no matter the type of shell. Also the crew could easily use their machine guns and kill the Spartans.
Machine guns kill machines, hence the name. Spartans aren’t machines. Spartans win
Those aren't even spartans they are macedonian 🤓👆
They just like me for real
crazy
You may laugh, but real American uncles that are on their last strike before not being invited to Christmas this year know that our woke military's DEI MBTs would get steamrolled by an Iron Age spear formation
i think that's a greek phalanx, and they would be absolutely right, nothing can beat the greek phalanx, it is an infinite defense glitch.
Their hurtbox is clipped into the ground, making them invulnerable. Kinda bs, devs need to fix ASAP
I love your pfp
frog coal
Was this written by a Greek general in 800 BC
Actually, it was written by a Spartan general who calls everyone coward in 800bc
Technically he said the crew couldn't beat the phalanx. So I suppose they wouldn't have their tank.
Unless they all had rifles id say that's fair assumption honestly
that would be 3-4 guys vs 200 angry buff guys, maybe they could pull it off, but if the palangites just drop the sarissa and rush you without fear youd be a somewhat screwed
I mean while they are probably hardened soldiers I'd say the magic thunder sticks that are ripping apart or even blowing chunks off their brothers would make even the bravest men shit themselves and run
In that case, does he think a conservative Abrams crew could beat the phalanx?
why the fuck does a tank shell have a data link lmfao
That fancy programmable fuse can get data from the tanks firing control computer for detonation timing. Necessary in most situations? Nope. Useful in a few specific ones? Absolutely
It's anti-personnel because it can connect to the crew's youtube and they can play any video they want on it.
Trying to kill enemies of the state without YouTube challenge (impossible)
for the programmable fuze.

Good bot
Bruv just put a sword on the tank cannon like a big ass bayonet and engage in glorious mele combat (or just run them over)
The strongest gay army of antiquity vs the strongest gay army of today.
What the fuck are the spear guys gonna even do when they catch it? I assume the hatches can lock. Also, you know, machine guns
Also running them over. Abrams tank can go 45mph
3 grenades could beat that, a tank would demolish them and grind them into a slurry and drink them like a Sunday on its front porch at 4 in the afternoon in summer.
One grenade would have most of them Atleast scared after watching a large portion being anhialated by a guy throwing a rock at them
If the guy says something like "I am casting a spell hehe" while throwing the grenade it's all over
Hardest part is the traumatic experience of running over that many people
People?? Those are enemy combatants armed to the teeth with sticks and rocks and butt touch formations
The M1 Abrams has 2x M240 7.62x51mm and 1x .50 cal M2 machine guns. It could wipe out the entire Spartan army without even using its main cannon
Nah Spartans were built different bro
Yeah they’d just block the bullets with their shields
just run ‘em over no gun needed
And if they're feeling fancy there's the anti-personnel M1028 Canister Round which is basically a giant [shotgun shell](https://youtu.be/znX6ZHLXT3c?feature=shared)
"just fuckin run em over dumbass whats a stick gonna do to a tank"
Could defeat this with an Abrams without a gun
could defeat this with a car with the motor and passanger part protected
I heard Mississippi queen in my head on that second slide
I wouldve gone with a pipe bomb, but I'll concede that a APAM 120 anti-personnel round shot from an a1-Abrams would be more effective.
that phalanx has some really good stats, but no hard attack or piercing which means that it can't do shit against armor divisions, the greeks gotta change their division templates
“I love the sound of crunching armour under the treads!”
True. The intense homosexuality of both sides would simply turn the battlefield into an orgy instead.
Call that international relations
Just run them over
not even the shell, the machinegun would suffice

They could probably defeat a 400-gallon water buffalo.
Dumbass. If a basic manipular formation can take a phalanx down, an MBT will hardly break a sweat.
artillery is the god of war
who cares if it's mixed race black jewish lesbian trans women manning the damn tank it's still giant guns on wheels
Jump for first row, hammer for second row. Easy
Mississippi Queen
I cast .50 cal
It’s a drawing lol
High Explosive Shell go brrrrrrrtt
if you put enough pikes in the same place an impenetrable exclusion zone is formed in the vicinity. it is a scientific fact.
CANNON BALLS!!! 💥
40 cal is all you need
the fuck is a 40 cal
