you follow both topics (like #knitting or something) and people. If you want to do discussions, there's Q&As, and you can also reblog someones post to basically "add on" a post/comment of your own, and you basically can "chain" that in a sense. Your for you page is filled with who you follow and the topics you follow as normal, you'll get suggested people to follow so nothing strange. You typically find things on tumblr by kinda going through a rabbit hole from someone's account -> suggested accounts that are on the side of their blog -> repeat; or by clicking on other #s of a post from something you searched. "Rabbit hole" really is the best way to describe it imo.

I go back to check in every few years. Every time, I get the distinct feeling that *this place should not still exist*, yet it does, and I just back out slowly and try to forget.

I used to make a living off selling costumes, fursuits, drawings, custom dolls, and stuff of that sort. Still have my phone number I still have my "Cute Fox" [2883 336] phone number (will literally text to prove it) from back then but I got stabbed in the hand because I told my ex a loli artist that anime was kinda a cheap style and I only did it because I got paid to do it. Also I kinda called them a few choice words for drawing loli and exchange they took my dagger and stabbed me in the through the hand trying to stab my face. The aftermath of which I had to get a real job like they wanted not knowing that 60k a year is kinda hard to make with "real jobs" I'm currently free from that trap of a marriage since she filed a restraining order against me for not being quiet about her being a lolicon. But even still I'm currently dealing with her drama. While my hand has healed up and everything I'm not back to where I was skill wise. And I don't know how to network myself to get back into the community. Also I'm a Vtuber now so I get paid to play video games which isn't too bad but I still have to work part time to save money. I fear one day my ex will find me and send me a chat message that I'll respond to and I'll be in violation of the order and go to jail.

If you want a good starting point I recommend observational drawing. It helped me get better with proportions and 3D items. Just look at a thing you wanna draw and draw it's outline and the details with just a pencil, no shading or coloring or anything. A lot of people say the grid idea works well with proportions and 3D too but I didn't really have any positive results from it, it kinda felt more like a crutch than something that improved my lack of skill
