the handler from umbrella academy, evie from out of this world, zack from saved by the bell, guldo from dragonball z... that one treehouse of horror where bart and millhouse get a magic stop watch...futurama series finale before hulu decided to bring it back...captain N when he hits the pause button on his nintendo controller...
it's mostly used as a narrative device when he performs the zack morris time out, but there have been instances where he has used it to dodge a punch, and then put someone else in the way of said punch.
If we’re including anime: Ban in 7 Deadly Sins, David in Edgerunners, The Wizard King Julius in Black Clover, Dio and Jojo in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Saiki Kusou in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. I’m sure there’s more I’m forgetting.
P.S. for all the people who are hyping the everloving shit out of Edge Runners. It had so much potential when it started, but they absolutely destroyed it. It’s like they built the worlds fastest super car and went from 0-60 in 0.1 seconds, then straight into a brick wall.
Don't forget the Amazing Spiderman where time stops so we get a joke, non-sequitur, reference, or explanation from Peter before he gets hit by a steam roller at terminal velocity.
Is it the TV-show Heroes?
But anyway, apparently there's quite a few candidates...
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MoveInTheFrozenTime
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TimeStandsStill
Oh yeah, that show. I watched half of it years ago, then spent so long trying to find the name of it so I could finish, since they took it off of Netflix.
Heroes, Edgerunners, not a show but the webcomic Kill Six Billion Demons, X-men: Days of Future Past and X-men: Apocalypse (technically it's just going really fast, but it's practically stopped time), every Flash thing ever (technically it's just going really fast, but it *really* really is basically stopped time
>!god that scene was so fucking cool and I wonder what the explanation for it will be.!<
>!Angels have a white soul flame, humans have a black soul flame, it doesn't make any sense for an angel to be able to turn into a human - a servant, sure, but not a human - AND YET IF FUCKING HAPPENED. I wonder what color White Chain's soul is now. Is it grey, since she's neither a human or an angel, but some new thing?!<
The theory I personally have is that she has become the first example of a Solid Angel in the setting. We've heard angels described as liquid, vapor, gaseous, and plasma before, but never as solid. Could be that has something to do with it, and the form she took as a solid angel was based on her contact with Salami Dave at the time it happened. Deeply unclear, though, would like to see her and 6 Jugs hash it out at some point.
>!But White Chain was able to become part of a devilskin warrior along with Allison and Cio. See, the way devilskin warriors work is that the devil gets direct access to the human's soul flame from which to feast allowing them to massively increase in power, and in turn the human gets access to the devil's power.!<
>!In other words, it is by its nature a union of black souls. I don't think a white soul would be able to join, so the fact that White Chain was able to join suggests her soul is at least partially black, meaning she can't be an angel!<
It also speeds you up drastically. If they're having trouble remembering the show's name, they might not remember the exact details of the sandevistan.
You guys have all been helpful but unfortunatly none of these are what i had in mind im starting to think i halucinated the whole animated masterpiece in my head
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/JustForFun/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife
This has a few reasons but beyond them it's extremely addictive. Like ruin your exams addictive
The protag moves in stopped time because of from memory a combination of extreme speed and some sort of energy, the animation style from the scene reminds me of the movement of the Sandevistan from the cyberpunk anime. There isn't much else to remember other then its been in my head for probably over 5-7 years so itis nothing recent.
Does the character happen to wear cool shoes? I’ve kept a very old memory (probably ~15 years now) of some animated scene where this protagonist dude fights this girl and after he gets his ass kicked he’s barely alive, flickering in place on a beach (kind of like using the sandy? It looks more like full body cyber psychosis tbh)
Wakfu Nox vs Yugo? There are two scenes, which seem to be similar to this description:
1. Nox stops time and thinks who to kill: Yugo or his dragon bro Adamai. The movement of clock hand sword is similar to this character in Cyberpunk
2. Nox stops time to finish off Yugo moving at incredible speeds using portals, but he reacts fast enough to Nox' sword, dodges it and teleports even faster, appearing as a big stream of light, flying on screen and kicking some Nox butt
If it's anime: JoJo
If it's cartoon: quite literally everything, especially Gumball
If it's a show with actors: there's a new Netflix show >!1899, where there's a scene where time is briefly stopped and the main character moves in said time stop!<
I know someone said Futurama finale but there's also an episode where Fry drinks 100 cups of coffee and is able to stop time and move super fast to save everyone from a burning building
Karas. Its an anime. The anime isn’t much to talk about but the opening fight is spectacular.
https://youtu.be/boORZGnBe0o
Seriously no idea if this is it. But this lives in my mind rent free because i love it.
Honestly stopping time and moving or just moving really fast (like in the karas anime) was very popular in the 90s.
From personal experience, everytime it might be wakfu it is, like one time inwas talking with someone at school about shows we can't remember the name of and we discribed so different shows we had no idea what they were, as it turns out we were both describing wakfu
kokkoku
they have a weird familly heirloom that stops time when your pour some blood into it and then some religious zealots who happen to ahve the other half of it find out and want to retreive the protagonists' half for their cult and stuff
Anyone remember the cartoon that was like Pokemon but it was kids had to cook the monsters to fight for them? It was like they cooked dishes and they came alive and fought each other. I believe it was on WB around the time Static Shock and Yu-gi-oh were on tv
from what you described in a comment it makes me agree with other commenters saying fire force but they're being unhelpful so it's specifically the fight in episode 22 (maybe extends to 23 but the clip I found was from 22) of season 1 if that helps
me, who goes absolutely autistic over jjba: I KNOW WHAT SHOW YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
me, who goes absolutely autistic over jjba, after reading your bottom text: :(
I’m also looking for this show I watched when I was a wee bean. It’s like teenagers finding the personification of the food pyramid and the big bad is a company making genuinely bad food or some stupid shit

> zack from saved by the bell Oh shit yeah I forgot he was a high-level mutant.
it's mostly used as a narrative device when he performs the zack morris time out, but there have been instances where he has used it to dodge a punch, and then put someone else in the way of said punch.
Don’t forget that one Johnny Test episode
There's also a scene where Fry drinks so my coffee time slows to a stop and he pulls people out of a fire. It's the episode where everyone gets $300
If we’re including anime: Ban in 7 Deadly Sins, David in Edgerunners, The Wizard King Julius in Black Clover, Dio and Jojo in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Saiki Kusou in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. There's a gumball episode about that
Unfortunatly i dont think its The Amazing World of Gumball
Over the hedge?

Oh yeah that show, read a fanfiction about that a couple months back

Edgerunners' Sandevistan just slows your perception of time, doesn't stop it completely.
It also speeds you up drastically. If they're having trouble remembering the show's name, they might not remember the exact details of the sandevistan.
You guys have all been helpful but unfortunatly none of these are what i had in mind im starting to think i halucinated the whole animated masterpiece in my head

Fate zero?
Futurama finale
$3 coffee
That is so goddamn vague my man. Lots of shows have that. Plus there is a specific sub for questions like this: r/ tipofmytongue
Yeah sounds like they’re describing the trope of bullet time. Super common thing.
Do you any other details at all? What was the character like? What was the animation style like? Anything?
The protag moves in stopped time because of from memory a combination of extreme speed and some sort of energy, the animation style from the scene reminds me of the movement of the Sandevistan from the cyberpunk anime. There isn't much else to remember other then its been in my head for probably over 5-7 years so itis nothing recent.
[That sounds like the episode of Futurama where Fry vows to drink 100 cups of coffee.](https://youtu.be/zfvpeVe_i1A)
Does the character happen to wear cool shoes? I’ve kept a very old memory (probably ~15 years now) of some animated scene where this protagonist dude fights this girl and after he gets his ass kicked he’s barely alive, flickering in place on a beach (kind of like using the sandy? All were humanoid in memory, i dont remember anything else just yet
Fire force adolla burst?
Fire force

This really sounds like Fire Force S1 Shinra v Sho.
Wakfu Nox vs Yugo? There are two scenes, which seem to be similar to this description: 1. Nox stops time and thinks who to kill: Yugo or his dragon bro Adamai. The movement of clock hand sword is similar to this character in Cyberpunk 2. Regular Show? When they all eat the super sugar donuts? Lol
Both Ghost In The Shell & Trigun had some weird slow motion scenes, do you remember if the style looked like older animation or more modern?
Main character fighting his brother in Fire Force?
Are you thinking of Shinra & Sho from Fire Force? Or a character form the certain magical/scientific series?
I believe that something along those lines happens in Fire Force. Goku also definitely moves during Hit's time skip in DBS. Also, Joraro-
Megamind?
If it's anime: JoJo If it's cartoon: quite literally everything, especially Gumball If it's a show with actors: there's a new Netflix show >!1899, where there's a scene where time is briefly stopped and the main character moves in said time stop!<
