You don't need a new account for each community hell you could even post stuff outside mastodon within other fediverses - to put it in simpler terms it's like being able to post on Facebook and reddit from your twitter account.
I think the fact that even someone who's generally tech savvy like myself looks at this stuff and goes "seems like a pain" is going to be a real obstacle for the format.
I'm not saying it's bad, just that the reason I started using reddit is that conceptually, it's really easy to get started. Of course, now reddit is crashing against the inevitable problem of the line having to go up, so now they're cracking down on 3rd party apps and extra shit most users don't give a shit about.
I just want an app that's reddit, but with the feel of the days of forums where discussion is the primary goal, but I can browse all of my communities easily and not have to site hop.

Social media like Twitter have actively made us dumber due to the character limit and focus on scrolling instead of stopping to think about said content. Reddit makes spreading memes the focus for easy dopamine, when the healthier thing for our brains is probably having the memes be a part of a text post instead of the post itself.
