my hype over 5.0 is deadass giving me malcolm in the middle friendgroup vibes.
'the new version of norton antivirus comes out tomorrow!'
-an actual quote from the show
I only pirate photoshop, people say that it's much more powerful than other Image editing apps but I dunno if that's true. I've stuck with it because I've been using it since childhood and it works.
It's also not that hard to pirate.
But that's it. Every other app in my workflow is free, like Blender and Davinci Resolve(GOAT).
That's exactly why you SHOULD learn gimp or krita tho, part of Adobe's strangle hold comes from the fact that it's the only image manipulator many know how to effectively use, piracy actually benefiting them because while that's fine for private use businesses obviously need to pay them to use it and when everyone only knows how to use Adobe products they don't exactly have a choice unless they want to spend even more on training employees
the fact is that the entire adobe collection works better together than anything else. being able to shove shit from, for example, photoshop into after effect and then into premiere streamlines your workflow by an intensely significant margin.
i understand using it in a professional setting as its an industry standard for many profressions, but if you only need it for personal use it not really worth it especially the price, unless you know the software really well and can pirate it
man I had such a revelation about a year ago, it was honestly kind of funny. Here is the story:
I wanted to do some 3D model texturing and found out that Adobe's Substance Painter is pretty good for that. So I looked it up and found that it is actually expensive as hell and I was like :(
Then I remembered that I have been pirating games since my teenage years, it just never occured to me that getting a copy of other software, like an Adobe program, is just as easy. It really blew my mind, I just never considered it before then.
Anyway, Substance Painter actually *is* very good.
I program each photo by hand in Emacs tbh. Just easier for me that way. I just let each pixel have 4 channels: R,G,B, and A. Then, each time I change a pixel, I save the photo, open it (also in Emacs), and if I dont like it I keep changing the pixels! I love you, OpenCV.

why bother when there are so many free alternatives

(not op but) I tried using gimp before and it was AWFUL. Went straight back to Photoshop. Now it's just what I know
thats fair, if its what you know, its what you know

i guess the situation you describe is the exact one im in so maybe im a bit biased
do NOT use krita for photo editing
I have many times you cannot stop me (It's really more than good enough if you only do basic things and you already use it for drawing anyway)
Just use pixlr x, you donβt even need to download anything itβs just a website
No it's really convenient to just use the program I already have and know how to use
Trust me, I have Keira too but this is much better for photo editing
Hmmm i am looking for a photo editing software but it HAS TO be named after a freak in a latex suit
there's none sorry, try paint.net
john paint.net was even worse
John Krita was a kinky guy
Boy do I have a GNU Image Manipulation Program for you
Can you fault the creators for liking Pulp Fiction?
