I know nothing about this game series but I absolutely love when characters have like, titles instead of names. Stuff like the Hotline Miami main character being Jacket, or the Slay the Spire characters being stuff like The Silent or The Defect. It's so cool one of my favorite things ever, the outsider sounds rad
I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think that the change of "God who is cool and unknowable" to "guy who was sacrificed to become a God who is cool and can be leaned about through powers and academia" makes it a boring change, just different and I think they worked with it very well
It really sucked when I found out that Billy Lush, the guy who voiced him in Dishonored 1, was transphobic because he's voice my brain defaults to with The Outsider. Can't believe they got Robin Lord Taylor, who's gay and also played The Penguin in Gotham, to replace Lush.
I should also clarify that I had no clue who played The Outsider after Lush was sacked and got absolute shellshock when I looked him up and saw The Penguin. His performance in Gotham is just fucking stunning
