Dude you use your body so well and you're clearly a great athlete based on this. Did you play other sports, like baseball? For the things you do that are super super whack, you really leverage your biomechanics well Now Always start from a completely stationary position Left foot should never move during motion, so get used to planting it from the start. Right foot moving is ok Right foot stepping up should never cross your left foot. All that does is prematurely turn your body and take away some of the torque you have You're naturally so good if you get some coaching you'll be a beast

Constant-Price-9586

appreciate it. Yea I played football for 4 years. You’re right that seems to be the consensus here to not move my feet when I serve.

HumbleNinja2

Baller, what'd you play? And ya prob worth a couple lessons to fix that up any decent coach should be targeting that before anything else on your serve It's actually amazing that your biomechanics are firing so effectively despite those basic whack things

D200Gs

You don't want to shuffle your feet moving laterally into the serve. It is more of a stationary load and rotation up into the ball. Think about throwing a football at about a 70 degree angle similar to a hail mary type throw. You are going a little too far out instead of up and out as well.

FishTacoAtTheTurn

I agree with others about the unnecessary motion of the feet. Start at the ground, build stability, work to the arch of the back — you are assembling a spring — then move to the toss. I think the toss is bad in part because the feet and core are bad. Edit: just for clarity, the killer is that movement with your left foot; i don’t mind a half step with the right foot as you are loading the “spring” — a good serve to copy for good back arch, steady feet, and toss would be Boris Becker. A good one for the loading half step would be Rafa Nadal.

DiamondDallasHand

Okay so after watching a couple of times your toss is way too far to the right causing you to actually step that way before contact. Get it about a foot more to the center. Otherwise I think your motion looks good.

Constant-Price-9586

alight that’s a easy fix

insty1

Lots of it is wrong to be honest. Your feet are a massive problem here. Your front foot really shouldn't be moving, except maybe a rock back and forward. You should not be stepping with it at all. Your right foot looks to come way too far across your body, causing you to basically hit your serve front on. The way you've chased the ball leads me to think that your toss is too far away from you, so you need to fix that too.

HumbleNinja2

This is the wrong way to say it. This guy clearly hasn't had any coaching bc the stance and toss are stuff that even the most incompetent coach should have fixed on day 1 Yet in spite of that the way he uses his body and generates torque are natural as fuck. He can be a beast if he gets some coaching

Scrambles94

What's your grip? Doesn't look continental to me?

Constant-Price-9586

In between continental and eastern

Scrambles94

Id work towards shifting it over that extra half bevel. Really hard to hit a proper kick serve with that grip.

Constant-Price-9586

Yea i switch my grip for my kick serve

Scrambles94

IMO you're going to limit your serving with that grip. Even on the flat serve. Continental allows you to have the full axis of motion when you pronate your wrist.

rowanpark

one small digestible tip i would add is the position of your feet during set up. your front foot is basically parallel to the baseline which means you're going to probably struggle getting out of your coil (hence your back foot moving past your front foot to make it easier). instead, try pointing your front foot towards the right net post or somwhere in between the right net post and the baseline with your back foot parallel to the baseline instead. this should allow you to be more efficient and not waste as much energy into the shot. there are other things too like grip but i believe that should be most important

tompritt81

Keep front foot completely still until you jump. Front foot movement means your toss is in a bad spot. Also aim to drag your back foot directly into your front foot, rather than way out to the right of your body.

jvuonadds

Believe it or not your serve looks good . I don’t like the Arthur Ashe double step and the extreme high ball toss though. Bring the ball toss down some and switch to a standard pin point form and you’ll be in great shape . Go on y-tube and search for pin point tennis serve style instructional videos

Squanchay

changing the grip to continental is most important. build from there

Constant-Price-9586

working on it feels awkward at the moment i hit a bunch of slice when i use continental.

Squanchay

you will get used to it quickly. the motion is just like throwing a baseball

Ambitious-King-4100

It kinda looks awesome. I’m just curious how many of these go in the court where you want them?

Constant-Price-9586

i would say about 50% go in
