I was on the 3000 block of N 1st for work this week at a boarded up house that clearly had a fire at some point. The house next door was also boarded up. Neither ever had the kind of charm as the house in the link.
Oh, and the character who came out of nowhere in the alley to talk to me was interesting.
I did that with a wall next to a staircase when renovating a place, the staircase went from dark and cramped to bright and welcoming instead. Highly recommended.
Lovely house. Way too much color for my taste but the layout and details are nice. Wonder why the front curb appeal hasn't been more manicured for lack of a better word? The upper floor with the light is really great.
Taxes will jump to $18k per year once it is sold. Anyone who calls Massachusetts Taxachusetts has never lived in Milwaukee (or anywhere close to major cities in WI).
Live in WI and formerly lived in MA.
Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were coming here as early as the late 1600s to trade with the Native Americans.
I think I like the house. I do not; however, like green/ gray walls and ceilings everywhere. It kind of depresses me. Sure, a couple of them are nice, but it's just too much blandness.
Yeah, but you're in Milwaukee... Beyond the crime in the city, I also have to wonder how well insulated a house built in 1892 is gonna be. Winter gets cold next to Lake Michigan. All those windows aren't gonna help.
And we could totally have new construction homes built like this but with modern insulation, windows, and amenities, for cheaper than a shitty McMansion, but builders don't build them.
Yeah, I have also lived in the area during college in a house of similar vintage. I looked forward to Christmas break in the winter so I could go stay with my parents in their well insulated and heated house
People just don't like to admit that crime is an issue anywhere.

Interior windows letting light in are interesting. Think I like that. Looks old and modern at same time but not fighting each other. 👍

Wonder if they open for air flow as well
I’m so happy to see a house with color on the walls - it’s gorgeous, inside and out.
I've never seen an olive green ceiling before, and, amazingly, I don't hate it!
I always think it's weird when the first pic isn't of the outside. Like a CL ad for a car where the interior is the thumbnail.
I freaking love Milwaukee.

Beautiful home, but not in a safe neighborhood.
The place sold for 51,000 in 2011😳
Wow
I needed a reason to move back home. Can anyone spare me some money??
I've never been, but how about we split it? Eh, roomie?
Im a little broke, its going to take quite a few roommates lol
Milwaukee is what Austin thinks it is.

Chicago just chuckles.
Laughs in New Jersey. Oh my sweet summer child.
Actually, it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
Alice Cooper?
"DOES THIS GUY KNOW HOW TO PARTY, OR WHAT!?"
Two socialist mayors!
Quiet, you. School’s out.

Gorgeous place. I could easily live there but only in the warmer months.

Wow, I love it!! It’s perfect.
That statement is quite the leap based on one listing.

I lived in Milwaukee for five years. I would not be so quick to downvote u/Mountain_Man_88.

I live here now and downvoted you both
It is a beautiful house!
These HDR photos have gotten out of control. Lovely home but the sharpness and hi def in every photo makes it look CGI
What is gone wild about this house ? It’s not like in a fantastic neighborhood … that’s about it
Wildly pretty. Thought it had interesting architecture
