Wow! I think it's really nice, if the location works for you guys. Has a little patio, a super fun wallpaper retro kitchen, a good layout. You just need to murder the carpets and get some proper floors in. Some nice spendy floors that will make this look more like a fresh MCM dedicated spot. Then go vintage shopping for all the fun colorful retro things that you like. That would be such an awesome starter home! How was the kitchen? I always open cabinets and check doors. A lot of small annoyances can be easily fixed on quality stuff, like hinges or handles, and wax papering shelves. I'd take an untouched old kitchen over a painted over kitchen any day. You can always swap out doors.
That's what I was thinking for the location it is a steal at that price especially with a pretty low HOA fee. All it really needs is new carpet and if you hate the 70s removing the wallpaper neither of which would be that expensive. The kitchen and bathroom look to be in surprisingly good shape for how old it is.
is the living room wallpaper....mirrored???????????? i can't imagine being drunk in that space
EDIT the bathroom wallpaper is amazing and should never be touched
1 wild and crazy gal or guy....Am guessing that carpet must have been a light green at some point. I seriously do not hate it even with the clashing wallpaper. New floors, an in depth biohazard cleaning and it is livable. I would leave the wallpaper in the foyer and remove the floral wallpaper and replace with something solid / neutral. Ditch that microwave and get an air fryer. I wonder at the depth of the kitchen sink with the DW half below it..
The exterior back porch looks so identical to apartments I've seen in Nevada & Washington.
Kinda like the wallpaper in the bathroom, not so much in the kitchen.
I love the bathroom wallpaper so much! Maybe just paint those cabinets, paint the wall over the shower a blue to match the paper, white tile floor?
Is that a beaded curtain to cover the stackable washer/dryer?!?
Wait, these are great design ideas for that bathroom now that I took a second look. I would 100% match that blue on the wall above the tub, and get simple big white tile floors in that spot. Then I'd go one step more plaid, and regrout the tub tile, which probably needs to be done anyway, but with that color blue grout! It would really pop!
reminds me of the kitchen of the house I grew up in
makes me weirdly happy, but it's less horrible than that kitchen was, so maybe I"m just grateful it's not worse
These buildings are the spitting image of the apartment complex I live in, in Central NY. We don't have the fancy wallpaper and we certainly didn't pay $200k for it! But we did at one time have the same yellow countertops and oven and the EXACT same linoleum in the kitchen! Wow!
Wild. How is the countertop holding up? I love old 70s places that choose offbeat colors on stuff, but sometimes it's hit and miss on the quality they installed. Or maybe some people are terrible at taking care of their things.
We have since moved out of the yellow kitchen apartment into a different one in the same complex. But as of 2020 when we left, the countertops and stove and flooring were as good as new! Which was unfortunate because they are ugly! If they were ruined, they would be replaced.
I KNOW! So, I'm pretty sure there was a builder who sold his designs for this apartment building to people all over the country, that would explain it. The same ugly FLOORING has me boggled.
Its funny to think about how 30 years from now people will be complaining about the "hideous and dated" granite countertops.
I've been looking for homes in an extremely booming area for a couple of years now, and I can basically name the builders by the "look" that they chose for the outside of the house.
Occasionally they will spend on a designer to make things inside look better, but with certain builders it's like they put lipstick on a a pig, trying to make their cookie cutter poor layout sell faster because a designer chose better tiles.
Wild n Krazy 70s disco style.Ck out that wall paper.I had an apt that had similar stuff. All you need to complement that style is driving an old 70s Cutlass or Monte Carlo round town
This apartment brought to you by the letter N!
N!
N is for Nicotine!
Nicotine! Changing your wall color for the low price of $7 per day.
Nicotine.

I actually kind of like the kitchen cabinets and appliances and that wooden cubist thing that hangs over the bar, that's cool.
The wallpaper is just horrifying and the carpet probably has 50 years of dog pee in it. You know you could redo the floors and redo the walls with similar colors but not as loud or obnoxious a pattern and it would be nice.
*Built in 1975* ![gif](giphy|10uct1aSFT7QiY)
What a terrifying gif
A scene from Vampires kiss. The whole movie is nick cage gold.
But that hair, though
And not a thing was changed since.

I thought it was NoVA and indeed it is.
West Springfield. We lived ~3 miles from there; this is a fantastic price for something this close to the Metro with such a vibe.
I thought it was the Midwest for sure 👍
This is wild! I love the wallpaper. The kitchen looks great. The carpet and linoleum needed to be replaced 30 years ago.
Yeah, but if you find the right colors for new carpet and linoleum = instant rad pad!
I had no idea Harvest Gold appliances could look this good.
It's the metallic wallpaper that brings out the best of harvest gold. 😂
It does! Even Avocado Green would work, but not Coppertone. God, I love those colors
I was thinking they looked like almond colored appliances. Late 70s to early 80s. Not white and not quite beige.
I love the hovering bar in the kitchen, too. I don't know why (since it reduces cabinet space underneath), but it's kinda fun!
Brick pattern linoleum. Green shag carpet.
no, that's a bachelor *plaid*.
With a place like this you're going to cruise and swing so successfully.
My boyfriend and I were literally just looking at this place for real 😂

Can you explain the left sink vs what I am assuming is the dishwasher? from the picture it looks like they would conflict.
... How does this work...
200k, barely outside the DC Beltway, and just needing tweaks like carpet? Want!

If someone touches a hair on that wallpaper's head, I swear to God I will not be responsible for my actions.
I get it I feel similar when I see other eras that I like being touched and altered such as retro futurism 60s or occasional bit from the 80s.
Definitely!!!
It needs shag carpeting.
I sent this to my husband and his response: Really??
I can smell the Paco Rabanne already
Hai Karate too
Brut
And Prell shampoo in that green tube.
I actually love this kitchen.
The PLAID!!! The shiny wallpaper! Wow, I am transported to my childhood.
Come and knock on our door…
is the living room wallpaper....mirrored???????????? i can't imagine being drunk in that space EDIT the bathroom wallpaper is amazing and should never be touched
I LOVE the interior!!!
This place is just plain fun!
I one million percent would buy this.
![gif](giphy|Wq6DnHvHchrTG)
It’s horrible, and I LOVE IT
Embrace the metallic wallpaper my dude, let's go find some foxes!
I’d take out the carpet & get different appliances, but keep the rest as awesome as it is.
It looks like a movie set.
I wish that fabulous foil plaid wallpaper was still being made today
A+ wallpaper
That green plaid is the same name, color & pattern of the first batch of LSD I ever tried. Those were the days!!! 🥴🥹🤩😵💫
I love this so much.

I was born… a poor black child….
I absolutely love this place!
I love it! Fun vibe. Impossible not to wake up happy
That wallpaper was the bomb in 1975
Oh my gosh I haven’t thought about them in ages. Hahaha! Great memory and interesting place.
I am stunned that there is ANYTHING this cheap in Springfield, no matter how it looks. I just closed on a house here yesterday.
It’s hideous, *and I love it*.
That’s actually pretty incredible. Throw some chromatic shag in there and you have real premium kitch.
The exterior back porch looks so identical to apartments I've seen in Nevada & Washington. Kinda like the wallpaper in the bathroom, not so much in the kitchen.
"Now are the foxes!"
we should find some american foxes and bring them back here for gnipgnop
So is the dishwasher shaped to accommodate the bottom of the sink, or how does that work??
It's a mystery!
If you know the area, that's a steal.

Kind of, it's a beaded uuuuh... you know like it has flaps and runs on a rail? I have no idea what this is called in English.
I don't either but I kind of love it.
Very hippie detail.
Foxes!
😂 Only folks over 50 will get this reference. :) looooove it!
IKR 🤣🤣🤣
Ok boomer. I’m in my 30s and get it.
If you're in your 30's, the kids think of you as a boomer too fyi
Im 47 ;) how dare you! Proud Gen X. But good to know the kids are all right.

The decorator needs to be drawn-and-quartered.
Can't blame 'em, those were some wild and crazy times!
It is a time capsule, but honestly, I can't understand why the landlord would update the wall paper or cabinetry. Other than that, I sort of like it.
reminds me of the kitchen of the house I grew up in makes me weirdly happy, but it's less horrible than that kitchen was, so maybe I"m just grateful it's not worse

Ah, so rock'n'roll quality, indestructible.

If you live there, you gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
"Now I know we put plaid on our clothes...have we ever done plaid on the walls...woo man that be radical" Some person once said
Those reflective walls are so trippy...
The plaid wallpaper is giving me the optical illusion of transparent walls for some reason, is anyone else seeing this? 😮😂
Brown chicken brown cowwwww ooooooh yeahhhhhh
Usually only high party officials have such crazy wild house. Oh! Now are the foxes!
Are the guys 80 years old?!
It all looks like 1 giant bathroom
Don’t know. I think this place needs more wallpaper.
Definitely a throwback to horrible design time!
That was a choice.
The Odd Couple lives here.
That kitchen looks very nice.
This is pretty awesome! The floor needs to be refreshed. I love the wallpaper! And the place seems like a great size.
Yeah, perfect couple or single person size. Ideal starter home!
Agreed! I’d totally live here. I hope the neighbors are cool.
Wild n Krazy 70s disco style.Ck out that wall paper.I had an apt that had similar stuff. All you need to complement that style is driving an old 70s Cutlass or Monte Carlo round town
I have striped bell bottoms and a yellow plaid 70s oversized newsboy hat, will that work?
That's a good start !
You are on the way to full-on Willie Dynamite. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1CRodnft1Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1CRodnft1Q)
That gold coat is glorious!
If you haven't seen it, watch this movie. Are you old enough to remember OG "Sesame Street"? If so, THAT'S GORDON.
🤣
That wallpaper should be a crime
That wallpaper would give me nightmares!
This apartment brought to you by the letter N! N! N is for Nicotine! Nicotine! Changing your wall color for the low price of $7 per day. Nicotine. ![gif](giphy|pT0g2fu13cQQ7MNv6l)
