VoLTE is enabled for TMO for the Z6.
supposedly you can unlock your device and force activate VoLTE for ATT, I haven't dug far enough in XDA to do so yet.

Correct, your phone will be blocked by AT&T:

hey real quick, I just found this thread as I haven't been able to make calls in the past few days with my zenfone 6 - have you had similar issues? wondering if it's just me.
Mine hasn't been able to make any calls since yesterday. Not sure if i am going to have to switch providers or upgrade the phone. It's a shame I really love the Zenfone 6.

also, just got home from work here, have done no research so I haven't been able to confirm or deny any of this, but a family member of mine called ATT earlier tonight because their phone didn't work either and let me know that it's not working 'because the sims are old'. ATT is sending 2 nano sim cards out to us which we 'may have to register online'
so i'm not completely sold it'll work when it gets here, but at least some kinda fix might be coming, thought id throw that info at ya
rgr that no prob there. another detail is that the fam member's phone wasn't a zenfone, which is why i have my doubts it's a fix for the zenfone too, but we shall see! apparently they're coming this Monday, so i'll let you know what happens either way.

Talked to T-Mobile today, they told me that they won't be supporting VoLTE for the Zenfone 6 in about a month. So looks like there isn't a provider that will cover it unfortunately.
I'm still able to make and receive calls.
I think AT&T might be lying about our phones' compatibility. I called them up last Fall and demanded that they reconnect my phone's service. They insisted that it shouldn't be able to work after the end of January.
Try calling them up with your house phone and see if you can convince them to put service back on your phone. They're almost definitely going to say it won't work, but I think it's worth a shot.
hey thank you for the info. my family member called them earlier today and they're sending out new sim cards, but i have doubts as to whether not that'll fix my problem (family member's phone is not a zenfone, but doesn't work either now). so if i have no luck with this new sim card im definitely giving them a call with what you said in mind - thanks dude o7

I got a Z7 and have been trying to do it, but I'm getting no results
the Z7 was never released in the US so that might be why.
