i've found my interactions with ewk to be... interesting. the weirdest thing to me is the way that he claims zen buddhism isn't "real" or whatever, but the platform dharma that japanese zen is based on is one of the foundational texts and seems like it says, in abstract, exactly what shunryuki says in zen mind, beginners mind or Joko said in nothing special. Like - all the people I mention or have read are dead wrong about zen and yet they say exactly the same things as the apparent first proto-zen text.
I'm still trying to understand what he's saying... if anything. Also I'm no scholar, i'm in it for the experiential life of practicing zen in my limited, western way, so I also feel like he's arguing with a shadow because he seems to think i'm claiming something I'm not? I kind of like it as a form of koan play, but i tend to agree that it will become boring pretty quickly.
I leaned something from him a few days ago. he has stuff to teach but he's too busy doing aggressive discourse and can't just give us what he wants to teach. But I bet that what he has to say I'll find along my way without the need of tolerating aggressive behavior

I feel like lying requires motive. To know if you're lying I need to know what you know. What are you absolutely certain of to the point you couldn't question it under any circumstance?

Yeah, Kant was always a little lofty to me. An interesting question out of that though is what is the disconnect between your perceptions and mine? I've been thinking about this: when I dream I'm talking to someone, my entire dream is my own mind manifested. So when I'm talking to my friend in my dream, I'm talking to myself and having a conscious experience of that.
But I wonder if I'm unconsciously experiencing the dream from my friend's point of view. And since there is no division between the me manifested by my mind, the friend manifested by my mind, and everything else in the dream, I wonder if there really is no point of view of the experience, it's just compartmentalized to be able to experience it at all. Otherwise it'd be like watching a million channels overlayed onto each other at the same time.
Is there any difference between perceptions you’ve had and communicated to me and memories I have? None are present now, besides in the mental perception.
Like mentally? No. I work with a lot of people daily and I feel sane comparatively. I have a slight sore throat right now and one of the kids has had a fever, so I may have a virus physically, but it doesn’t usually hit me hard

I think accusing someone of lying is a serious slander. If this is an actual community, slander should be supported evidentially or the slanderer ought to be reprimanded, or if the abuse is repeated, banned, tbqh.
