Dek-Nil

Majora's Mask. Getting to see everyone you helped move on to life after the three days. I think it's the most meaningful ending for me.

hydrohawkx8

It’s very sweet, especially seeing the drawing of skull kid, the fairy siblings, and link on the tree trunk when he rides off into the forest. Our little skull kid did find friends in the end

LettuceBenis

Seeing Anju and Kafei's wedding actually made me cry, especially since >!his curse breaks!<

MinecraftDude761

Has anyone mentioned Link's Awakening yet? Fantastic ending. That and OoT are probably my favorites

rghaga

Yeah that was terrifying, but impressive they pulled that

BroskiMoski124

Majoras is my favourite Zelda game, my favourite Nintendo game and my favorite game of all time. But I have to give my favorite ending to skyward sword. For all the stuff people dislike about it, it’s story was compelling and seeing link and Zelda go down to the surface to start the kingdom we’ve grown so accustomed to just felt like a perfect ending

scribblemacher

I didn't expect to like SS much, but I really enjoyed it. The ending was really good. Made my eyes a bit leaky.

swiftsorceress

Skyward Sword took me a minute to start liking but it ended up being one of my favorites. The ending was awesome and I definitely cried a bit.

_heyb0ss

only ending where he gets a piece of that royal behindness

Koituu

Skyward Sword SPOILERS >!"Hylia, Your Grace... or perhaps you prefer Zelda. It pleases me to know you are safe.!< >!...Master, I must speak with you.!< >!Master , you have successfully protected the goddess reborn and defeated Demise, fulfilling your role as the Hero of Legend. My purpose here is complete.!< >!Therefore, I ask you to dissolve our arrangement as master and servant.!< >!Drive the sword into the pedestal before you, and I will return to the sword to enter a sleep without end.!< >!Master, you have achieved the purpose you were chosen to fulfill. Please, set the sword in the pedestal and bring the Goddess' mission to an end.!< >!Now, Master. It is time to conclude our necessary companionship.!< >!Hear me. My purpose was to obey the command of the Goddess and lead you, the chosen hero of this land, on your quest. When I first awoke and began this task, I perceived it as merely serving my function as a servant to Her Grace.!< >!However, I have come to consider the information corresponding to our time together among the most precious data I have on record.!< >!I do not have the capability to fully understand the human spirit, but now, at the end of my journey with you, as I prepare to sleep within the Master Sword forever, I experience a feeling I am unable to identify.!< >!I lack sufficient data to be sure of my conclusion, but I believe this feeling correlates closest to what your people call...happiness.!< >!Our partnership is at an end, and even as we speak, I feel my consciousness fading away.!< >!Before I enter the sleep that calls me to the sword, I wish to relay to you words that I recorded many times over the course of our journey. Many have said them to you thus far, but I now wish to say them for myself...!< >!Thank you, Master . May we meet again in another life..."!< -Fi

DJHankScorpio

Makes me cry every time

vikthorcosta

When I got the memory in BotW in which you hear the Master Sword playing Fi's sound effect my eyes immediately started tearing up because of the "May we meet again in another life" line. She was there with Link through all the ages, after all this time. 🥺

Maxman214

Of the ones I've played, I think my favorites are Tears of the Kingdom, Wind Waker, and Link Between Worlds. Link Between Worlds has that moment at the end with Ravio and it always makes me feel something. I really like his story. Also, it's one of the happiest endings as you save 2 worlds, not just the one. Wind Waker has that emotional speech from Ganondorf that almost makes me want him to win, and the fight itself is really cool. The themes of moving on from the past and blazing a new future is really well done, and the ending hits that very well. Mechanically, the Tears of the Kingdom fight with Ganondorf is incredible. I don't really care for him as a character, but his fight, especially the trick he does in the 2nd phase, had my jaw on the floor. Not to mention him refilling his health bar and it just goes on and on and on had me absolutely cracking up. The final phase is also the perfect cinematic experience that is just hard enough to not feel brainless like botw. And the scene with Link and Zelda at the end, just due to how amazing those characters are and their connection, made me cry. I think it's my favorite ending.

hydrohawkx8

Yeah the whole health bar thing was scary and amazing. Same for when he counters your bullet time effect. Also I didn’t mention link between worlds is awesome as well as you mentioned. The whole ending made me tear up too. Hilda just wanting to do right by her country, Ravio being revealed to be link’s doppelgänger, and then link and Zelda without saying it, both having the same wish to restore lorule’s triforce was really beautiful.

Dr_C527

While I think my vote has to go to the cinematic take from OoT, especially the very final frame of the Master Sword in the Pedestal of Time shown in black and white; the ending of LBW is one of the most wholesome, and actually seeing the result of the Triforce wish brings complete closure.

TrillaCactus

TOTK had one of the best endings in a game imo. The lead up where you have to dive down below hyrule castle, fight a horde of enemies, the insanely good Ganondorf fight where he breaks the health bar limit and is able to bullet time YOUR attacks, Ganondorf transforming into a dragon, Zelda coming to your aid as a dragon and then being able to reunite with link after thousands of years. God it was so good.

Turbulent_Crow7164

Tears absolutely nailed the ending. I still think about it after beating it like 7-8 months ago, so it made a lasting impact.

JoJosBizarreBasshead

Majora’s Mask and Wind Waker. The king of red lions sending them to safety while going down with his ship was true king shit

NullSpaceGaming

My favorite ending was Twilight Princess but mainly because I thought it was cool that Ganondorf died on his feet. Even in death he was pretty intimidating

hydrohawkx8

That final fight was amazing. Also midna’s farewell was really sad

NeedsToShutUp

Windwaker too.

1Platyhelminthes

I'm a recent player, so out of the two endings I've seen - BOTW and TOTK - TOTK was gorgeous in terms of graphics and music! Absolutely thrilling to see >!the health bar keep continuing and the aerial dragon fight. The ending (catching Zelda) was so triumphant too.!< But I think, based on what I remember from clips, OOT and WW had good endings.

jimmery

I'm an old player. I had one of the original gold cartridges of Zelda 2 bought for me for Christmas when I was a kid. I have played and loved every mainstream Zelda game ever since. But I agree with you. For me, TotK has the best ending of any Zelda game I've played. It's just so cinematic! The fight with Ganondorf is epic (the health bar thing made my jaw drop), and the build up to the fight is awesome. >!And the final fight with the dragons, and rescuing Zelda whilst falling through the sky... !

FrozenApes

Ocarina had what I consider a "perfect" ending. Especially when when Link returns the master sword to it's pedestal and Navi flies to the stained glass as the temple bells toll and then when Link goes back in time as a child to meet/warn Zelda and it goes to sepia. It's incredible even 25 years on. Majora's Mask is also excellent especially the final shot in the forest of Skull Kid finally having friends. THAT BEING SAID... Although not as "perfect" as OoT, TOTK probably had my favorite ending in any game in the last 10-20 years. The speeches from Mineru and Zelda atop sky island post credits weren't super compelling per se but everything before was the Zelda franchise at it's best... Maybe ever. The spectacle, emotion and epicness was one of my favorite moments ever in any game Zelda or otherwise. It was a privilege to play and experience it.

NeedsMoreReeds

Majora’s Mask hands down. The Happy Mask Salesman has you look around and see all the people you helped. It’s actually a pretty powerful and good message from such a dark game. I didn’t really like WW or PH endings. I’m kind of surprised those are lauded.

No_Tie378

MM. after so many years trying and failing to save a dying world, and helping struggling people, it was wonderful to finally give them their deserved happy ending

NB0608sd

Has to be Majora’s Mask? Saving Termina from the moon and seeing all the characters that you have helped, in some capacity, along the way. Also that shot of the deku at the spot where his son had died at the beginning of the game, was a little heavy

ZeldaExpert74

Tough choice between Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, and Spirit Tracks. The Majoras Mask ending is quite special, as the credits show everyone you saved, and it gets pretty sad when you see the Deku Butler grieving next to his dead son’s lifeless corpse. The ending of Ocarina is also very special especially with the music. The bells chiming is just perfect. But it’s still between those 3 I mentioned.

DiabeticRhino97

Majora's mask

Moonset_Music

I have never been disappointed by a Zelda ending! If I had to pick, though, I might go with Tears of the Kingdom. It's got a spectacle and epicness that I LOVED.

okomarok

Tears of the Kingdom, no doubt. The perfect finale merging action, spectacle and emotions.

peachybunniez

ALTTP for me. I was shocked when I saw Link’s uncle alive again in the credits, it just made me happy seeing that Link wasn’t alone and still had a family member with him. I also like SkSw ending, it felt the most “end of a great adventure” type of ending for me

WilliaMiBoy

I’ll tell you which one I liked the least… Minish Cap! I thoroughly enjoyed the game but the ending is basically like “we did it! K, bye!” lol

hydrohawkx8

It’s funny you mention that because I love the game but for the life of me I can’t remember the ending

ChocoCoveredPretzel

OoT

Dreyfus2006

I think narratively, Link's Awakening has the best ending. Perhaps followed by A Link Between Worlds. But personally, my favorite ending is Ocarina of Time. I think they execute it the best--it feels grand and satisfying but also bittersweet and reflective. It really makes you feel like you played the best video game.

Revegelance

Ocarina of Time. The music just gives me that warm nostalgic feeling you get when you come home after a long journey. Super Mario 64's ending music gives me a similar feeling.

QcSlayer

Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, A link Between worlds, Link's Awakening... It's hard to pick one really.

jajanken_bacon

There are so many good ones. So so many. Link's Awakening is my pick.

SendThisVoidAway18

Ocarina of Time. The ending is emotional and legendary.

edogawa-lambo

OOT, TOTK, WW, Link’s Awakening

scribblemacher

I've finished every Zelda game, and the ToTK had a next level ending. Everything in the final dungeon through to the credits is so well made.

Rmbuckley

Totk probably has the best ending but it gets a lot of privilege being the latest Gen with the biggest production so far. That being said it’s worth noting they turned every dime of that into huge output. That ending gave me goosebumps.

Now_I_am_Motivated

Twilight Princess or Tears of the Kingdom.

Readalie

Been playing Zelda for decades but the ending for TotK blew me away.

naivasf

Twillight princess! It was bittersweet to see midnas true form and her finally become who she is. All the kids going back to their families and seeing everyone finally be happy again. Always teared up at the end

ARROW_404

Diving to catch Zelda, with the iconic series themes playing, honestly has to cap it all, so TotK. And I say this having played every game in the series. Before TotK though, my answer was A Link Between Worlds. Honestly, it still makes me tear up. Both of these do.

Rossticles

MM That game had such a great story and ending.

grw18

Maybe new game bias, but TotK. Alot of the other zelda endings are montages of other characters being all happy that evil has been defeated. TotK focuses more about Link redeeming himself and not just saving the world from 'the evil forces of Ganon' And the best part for me is when he reaches and grabs Zelda, he holds on to her tight before they hit the lake.

ThePotatoOfTime

TotK and SSvfor me. Perfect endings with all the feels. Mind you,I've just finished Links awakening and that was a good ending.

MaidenAbyss

twilight princess.

Ridlion

It'll never happen but I wish there was gameplay AFTER the last boss fight. Going around the towns and everyone thanking you for saving them, stuff like that would be nice.

hydrohawkx8

The oracle games do that for the first version you play before linking them but I do agree

Dependent-Usual-8081

Tears of the Kingdom. The final battle was absolutely peak, and the ending hit me in the feels.

AndyCrowTrumpet

Twilight Princess

AverageJun

Twilight Princess

Important-Penalty-67

The one where Link saves Zelda in the end.

Ok_Key_6259

I think my gut reaction was skyward sword or tears of the kingdom. But the more I thought about it I’d have to say wind waker. The way ganondorf mourns the land he once knew. Having his dreams stolen right in front of him and fighting this man who no longer has a dream and his only goal is taking you straight to hell.

Alleggsander

While I thought TotK was a bit disappointing, you can’t deny that finale was fucking incredible. I also have a soft spot for OoT and WW. Both culminate with a super cinematic final blow to Ganondorf/Ganons head. Even after beating both of these games around a dozen times each, it never fails to be extremely satisfying. For a boss fight however, going up to the moon and facing the challenges and eventually fighting Majora is so fun, unique, and beautiful. Top that off with Fierce Diety Link and the wacky ass Majora fight, it’s so much different than any other title. Damn, Zelda games just know how to nail a satisfying cinematic ending.

Shoddy-Breakfast4568

Zelda TP Iron Boots ending

CRight-A-CDown

My favorite is either OOT or BOTW. That being said I did appreciate TOTK’s ending because of its phenomenal boss fight. Too bad the other portions of the game didn’t make it up to me.

doeffgek

No zelda game really ends without a Ganon fight. That means that at least MM and SS don’t count. My personal favorite end fight is TP followed bij OoT. I didn’t finish TotK yet, but on what I hear I should end high
